Not so creative... I had Steady Eddy with me... he's good for getting the good car parks LOL actually, I have secure parking at work and felt nervous with it out there. Federals are good for street... soft but not too soft... I think they're good for around 13000ish k's

Someone tell Jon how big my BBQ is... welcome to use it, but can only take it if I get a volunteer with a ute and help lift it on and off. Its stainless steel with verrreee thickand heavy SS plates. honesty box would work too. If we have to have PL anyway, then perhaps we could apply to sell food on the day. -

A colleague today returned to his car (in a public carpark) to find a defect notice under the windscreen wiper for a bald tyre. Does this happen often? I've never heard of it before. -

Help Wanted - Commentator, Flaggies, Chocker
Michele replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
From the SDMA Newsletter President’s Report – Rob Wall Sunday 30 September saw another good Hillclimb with 50 entrants. A point to note is that many regulars were missing so with their return we could be getting close to having full fields as the year progresses. The message here is to get your entries in early. Also, with the increased number of participants, we may consider changing the present arrangements so that entries may not be accepted on the day. This is yet to be considered. We were lucky enough to have some additional assistance for Sunday’s meeting and my thanks goes to Skylines Australia members for the provision of officials. This is an area where the Club still needs to lift its game. The day hasn’t come yet when a meeting has not been held due to a lack of officials but, without more club members coming forward, it may not be far away. In this regard, CAMS is arranging for several courses to be conducted in Canberra. These will be held over the weekend of 3 and 4 November. Courses of interest to our members would be: Circuit Course on Saturday 3 Nov - This course is for those who want to progress from a General Official to a Bronze Circuit Official. Introductory Course on Sunday 4 Nov – Designed to cover general aspects of motor racing officiating and leads from a Trainee license to a General Official. Club Chief on Sunday 4 Nov – This is a new license category that has been introduced to assist clubs in the running of club and multi club events. Participants must have a General Officials license and want to to be capable of performing the role of Clerk of Course, Event Director or assume a team leader role (except Chief Scrutineer or Chief Steward) at club or multi club events. Two members are already signed up. If you are interested in any of the above courses, please Email or call Rachelle at the NSW CAMS Office [email protected] or 02 9635 1366. On general matters, there has been some discussion about the discrepancies between points allocated to those officiating at 2 lap events Vs those driving at 2 lap events. The Committee has agreed to restore parity and every driver that completed the three runs at the 2 lap event will be allocated 2 additional points toward the Championship. There is a Working Bee scheduled for Saturday 20 October and I would like to see as many members there as possible. Further details will be provided at the General meeting to be held at the Southern Cross Club at 7.30pm on Tuesday 16 October. Until next time …… Stay Safe. -
It really is fun and feels much faster than it looks in the video. Given its such a short lap, listen to how the federals are picking up the gravel when I return to pit, so don't let anyone tell you a hillclimb isn't long enough to get them hot. Level 2 Speed (L2S) $88 year SDMA membership $50 (Family $75) year Entry Fee approx $70 My GTR is in SV GTST is in type 1/2 over 3001 (see results above for different categories). www.sdmahillclimb.com for info or http://www.sdmahillclimb.com/Types%20&%20Classes.htm for classes (but menu frame wont open using this last link).

Lost quality with Youtube... any good tips on prepping video for youtube without losing quality? I used Windows Media Encoder to compress to 8mb at the recommended 320×240 resolution and quality wasn't too bad until I uploaded it... then it went to sh!t.

Bathurst On Big Screen - Drop Ins Welcome
Michele replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I've switched over the years, followed Brocky for years, switched to Ford for a time when Brock stopped etc but I tend to go for the drivers more than the cars - would be different if Skylines were still running... although it would be hard to for me to go for Skaife even under those circumstances... ooooh hard call, let me think on that one more. As drivers go, Skaife is at the bottom of my list, I put him with the likes of Biaggi (MotoGP/SBK) and any Queenland football team... I always want them to lose/fall off/run off the road LOL (I think I'm gonna tread on some toes with these comments LOL) Any Qld supporters here? State of Origins great on the big screen, we'll have to wait til next year now though. -

Wot he said ^^^ What a race... that was fun. -
We've got the big race happening on the big screen, I know some of you are close by and are welcome to drop in. I'm not a big Skaife fan, so long as he doesn't win, I'll be happy. Who is going for who? PS: Southside here, I can PM my address if you want to drop by

Doing The Half Day At Wakefield! Woohooo
Michele replied to sl33py's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I was cautious at first because I thought the same thing, but Mark really gives it to it in the wet and says they're pretty good. We use the RS's for street and track for the GTST and should change back to wear out the Falkens but keep putting it off. If I didn't have the brand new Falkens sitting there, I wouldnt change back by choice, I'd keep the RS's on. -

I really want to get back out to Wakefield (timed) with the RS's now. I did the 1:15 with Falkens which I was told were supposed to be sh!t hot... but after running around there with the RS's on the GTST I knew I didn't have the same grip or confidence with the Falkens as I did with the Federals. Edit: you may remember me saying in an earlier thread that my Falkens squealed like a b!tch all the way around Wakefield, I wasn't happy with them at all. I think I proven this at the last hillclimb, its only a very short track and this last meet was the first time I used the Federals on the GTR and you can see the time improvement. I could really feel the difference. I didn't get the understeer I often feel on the tight turn at the top of the hill (GTR) this time, I really felt it dig in and come around. My times are pretty close to Derecks around there now (look out Dereck, I've set myself a target LOL) Dereck split/run 13.87/50.56 12.65/48.57 12.60/48.16 12.91/48.88 12.49/48.62 Federals 01/09/07 Michele split/run 12.83/49.55 12.62/48.51 12.55/48.68 12.52/ 48.74 12.48/48.47 Federals 30/09/07 Michele split/run 12.91/50.05 13.06/50.34 12.95/50.00 12.38/50.32 12.58/49.81 Falkens 01/09/07 Mark (smart @ss) 12.04/47.70 12.23/47.63 12.18/47.68 12.13/47.33 12.20/48.77 Federals 30/09/07 I swear by the RS's because of the visible results I'm getting from using them - much as I would like to say its because of Mick and his frangipanis *ducking for cover* My only complaint is that all improvements I make to my car, Mark gets the same benefits grrrrrr I want a mod I can put into my car that doesn't work when he's driving it LOL -
