  1. Cannonball Run and awesome overtaking at Bathurst...
  2. Talk to Bullet 22 about Federal Tyres - my Federal 595rs's were so sticky at Wakefield that we had the little GTS-T up on two wheels on the last corner, and they're street legal. They might have something a bit harder that will last longer than the 595rs's and may be a bit cheaper too. My lap times have improved significantly since getting the Federals, so I only have good things to say about them.
  3. 7:40pm tonight, cnr Drakeford and Erindale Dr. Turning right from Tuggers onto Drakeford, I watched a white 33 with a white 'For Sale' sign and mobile number on rear windscreen give it a gutful and get a bit crossed up... if I were using bike terms I would have called it a 'tank slapper'. I caught up side by side to give a thumbs up but you didn't look up I should have called the mobile hehe
  4. He is an importer/dealer, although I didn't order from o'seas, it was here and complied when I bought it. Its seriously clean, had low k's (57000) which I didn't believe for a minute, however the inspections I've had since seem to support that the k's may have been original. If thats true, then I'm impressed. Now its time to do my own mods, I've been talking to Trojan and they said I should start with HKS-GTSS Turbos $4000 + Fit $2200. They pulled the little restrictor out of the boost control (is that what that part is called?) which I understand is compulsary in Japan. I thought it was a good sign that this was still in place. Slotted rotors, a stronger clutch... OMG maybe I should have bought that heavily modded car in Sydney after all LOL ahh well, I least I know this one has been cared for.
  5. Welcome to ACT (and Tuggers) I too will be looking for a giant in a red 33 I'll be the other Qld number plates you see running around Tuggers. I'm insured with Shannons, was about $600 for the GTST and around $900 for the GTR - comprehensive, must be garaged when at home and a free windscreen each year if required (I'm told its as simple as a trip to Windscreens O'Brien and they invoice Shannons direct). They gave me a lecture about anyone else driving my GTR, but otherwise all went well. I suspect this is because they thought I was too old (grrr) to be driving around in a GTR and must have been insuring on behalf of a teenage son LOL Age and a no claim bonus are on my side here though. Cheers Michele
  6. Well said... I second ALL of the above, that's exactly what I would wish for in a car club. It's a lot of work to keep a club together and not everyone will be as committed to the cause. This is something that can be hard to accept for some of the more enthusiastic members who will be doing most of the hard yakka. The knock on effect of this is that some of those participants who have little time to allocate to the club because of other commitments can be made to feel guilty, then eventually drop out. If (some) clubs could get over this hurdle and welcome all members, regardless of their ability to contribute, then I believe they are the ones which succeed. I will add that the people I have met from here have all been fabulous. The way you all engage and help out is a credit to you all. Also - I really need a 'Technical Night' being the newbie I am! When's the next one? LOL
  7. I'd like to come - I'll confirm a little closer to the date and will even bring hubby so long as he doesn't drive my car
  8. woohoo I found it... it was blank, so I didn't suspect that was the place. Thanks for the help! Cheers M
  9. Landed in June, complied in July and had her first Aussie number plate this week. GTR R32 1994 - And shes booooooooootiful (I'll admit to being a little biased at this point). I've tried updating my profile and managed most of it okay, however cannot see where I can edit the RB20DET bit on the left. Can someone please tell me where this part lives? Cheers Michele
  10. hmmm that could have been me... I was at Braddon Mobil this afternoon around 3ish. How did you see so much there? Do you work nearby?
  11. It was an awesome day - A huge thank you to the organisers/volunteers. I have an interesting helmet cam shot of someone getting a bit loose in front. I'll find an editing program and cut it down small enough for youtube. Then the driver can put their hand up and say who it was hehe. Thanks again for a great day... I wish I didn't have to leave early.
  12. I bet this brought a tear to the eye http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...bayphotohosting
  13. 1) Its in Sydney 2) I will ask him, but I must admit, he was irate when I very politely asked him to provide a simple list of what had been done to the car with the reported 90k having been spent on it. (To be honest, I suspect he thinks I am a tyre kicker with no intention to purchase) 3 & 4) Thank you I truly appreciate your offer. I will let you know what happens. I would like to go up this weekend if time permits and test drive it (if the dealer will allow it). A huge thank you to everyone on the ACT forum, you're all fantastic and always willing to help each other out. Cheers Michele
  14. Well... not unless the GTR proves to be too much fun. I still really enjoy the gtst and would only sell after I knew I was happy with the GTR. Or I could keep the both of them and run both categories although that might bring me undone at the corners when I realise I don't have 4wd Might have to sell the Harley first... anyone wanna buy a 1999 Road King Classic? Going cheap if you get in before Mark comes home hehe I could get a hot GTR then hehe
  15. Hi Tom What are the two pieces of tape covering on the boot? In the photos it appears to be deliberate holes, but I can't think what they would be for. Thanks Michele
  16. I'm looking at a 92 R32 GTR which is said to have quite a few modifications which I have had the dealer list and have added below. I would appreciate some opinions on the modifications listed given I intend to use it for Hillclimbs and occasional track days and still drive it to work. I would also like to know what to look for, what to avoid or change etc in order to get it over the pits here in ACT. What do they look for? Dealer list Rebuild motor with HKS pistons, Steel Gasket etc. $15,000.00 OS Gieken twin plate clutch $2,400.00 Fit $600.00 Intercooler 4" $800.00 Fit $400.00 TRUST oil cooler $1,500.00 Fit $250.00 OS Gieken adjustable cam gears $400.00 Fit $200.00 TRUST high mount turbo manifold including fitting $1,800.00 TRUST wastegate including fitting $1,100.00 TO4Z roller bearing turbo include fitting $2,600.00 Fit $1,200.00 SARD 720cc injectors $1,100.00 SARD adjustable fuel pressure regulator include fitting $320.00 Upgrade fuel pump $750.00 APEXi powerFC $1,450.00 Comprehensive DYNO and cam gear tuning $1,250.00 Platinum spark plugs $180.00 Remote alarm $550.00 Second immobiliser alarm $240.00 Full exhaust system $1,200.00 Torque split controller $400.00 HKS coil-over suspension $2,800.00 Fit & Align $480.00 Brembo brake callipers front and rear $2,500.00 New slotted rotors & performance pads front and rear $1,500.00 Fit $500.00 19" x 10" wheels and tyres $3,600.00 (I noticed the passenger side rear wheel sits out slightly past the guard, while the driver side rear lines up okay... could this be camber/adjustment or could there be something wrong?) TOTAL $47,070.00 The dealer wants 35k for it. I'm not sure if I'm better off buying standard and doing some of this stuff myself, or let someone else do all the work. PS: It needs Federal tyres on it though
  17. Tuggeranong Auto Electrics has asked me to see if anyone would like some free work done in return for letting them look at your wiring configuration (that is if your electrics are all working okay). I'm no help to them because I'm in the same boat with air conditioning issues where it turns itself off and on intermittently (more off than on ) I'm not exactly sure what it is they need to look at but give them a call if you are interested. Phone: (02) 6293 1366 and ask to speak to Stuart Keep in mind that it may not be limited to GTST's as I thought he said he had about three that needed work now.
  18. Oh bugger, I'm away this weekend - RAINCHECK - Whens the next one?
  19. I've paid 1 car 2 drivers (I think he was too chicken to bring the Volden to a SAU day hehe)
  20. Hi all I'm stuck.
