  1. You don't have to be road registered or run on street tyres to run for outright.
  2. A birdie told me there has been a sh!t load of GPS trackers coming into ACT... seems to me like its only a matter of time before we catch ourselves a mouse in a trap.
  3. Thats the one I thought was a type of Aussie car (yellow one). What is it? Thats a great shot of Neil in the mirror, thats a keeper.
  4. Yes... Neil frequently beats me... so does Phil Pratt in a billy kart of all things (Trojan Superkart) and I love the competition, I have a great time and we laugh when he beats me. We torment each other and call each other names and have something to look forward to the next time. John did a sterling job yesterday and I know there will be times when he will kick my butt out there too. I don't care, I just want to be included. To be honest, I wouldn't mind betting John wouldn't have any issues with type 5 being included as well.
  5. Just goes to show how little you know about the type 5 cars running around NSW. As I said before, I would have plenty of competition if they weren't discriminated against, and most of them would make me look slow. Like I said before, let them come, let them win, I don't have a problem with that. May the fastest time win... now that's what I call an outright winner. But it seems you prefer the tall poppy syndrome, if you can't beat em, kill em off. Nice work. Don't forget that I am in a legitimate CAMS category and this is an open CAMS Championship, I have as much right as any other category to run at this event. There are currently five type 5 cars in the Championship and I am aware of another three who are on standby and could jump in at any time. Once upon a time, coloured people weren't allowed to play golf, go to uni, or hop on a bus. Someone had to fight for equality. But some people prefer to use smoke and mirrors and try to turn it into something more sinister and call it by another name (trophy hunting?)... what phooey!! You're focussing on the wrong target, I on the other hand am not.
  6. Natsoft results are up now and car 551 came in at 46 with a 1:24.27 http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....03/2009.ORGP.S1
  7. I'd like him to run, but he says he's too busy looking after me. Poor guy, I'm wearing him out. Raps86 from Bathurst helped out at Bathurst and Oran Park, which Mark and I appreciated.
  8. I'll see what I can find for him. Don't be put off by this controversy, they are a great bunch and none of this crap goes on 'on the day' (well not that I'm aware of). You will have a ball.
  9. What number was he running?
  10. How dare you accuse me of trophy hunting... do you think I care about a $10 trophy? Don't jump to childish conclusions. This is not a club day, its a state championship. I want to be treated the same as the other competitors and not ostrocised. You just wait until its your category thats on the line and then lets watch you squeal like a pig. If they treated type 5 equally, then I would have quite a few opponents. Bring it on, I'm not winning the Hillclimb Championship, but I'm happy to compete with all those faster than I am, because I'm treated equal.
  11. 2nd in class both days and I think I was 6th outright on Saturday and 5th on Sunday.
  12. CAMS do not hold any other events that I am able to compete in. Hillclimbs and Supersprints are all I have open to me from CAMS. OzBOSS are no longer. Street cars have a sh!t load more options to compete than I ever will. So don't be so defensive about it.
  13. Umm stepping stone to Europe... perhaps if it still had a Cosworth engine. Its a holden V6!!!! Comparing it to an F1 car is like saying my mums 6 cyl Commodore is a V8 Supercar.
  14. I will see what I can find when I get back home
  15. My car is a circuit car... its not a hillclimb car. Not to be confused with complaining about a "pig" or anything, but I have 40mm clearance and scrape getting out of the pit garage and belly out on most hillclimb tracks. I can't do the full state hillclimb series because my car won't get through the pinch at King Edward Park. My car cannot be raised much further. All supersprints are on circuit tracks, perfect for my circuit car. This is a CAMS State Level Championship which leads into the Nationals, not the State Tin Top Championships (Clubbies need to be included too). I don't want to leave anyone out... and nor should they, not at State Level. Lets have the Australian Open again, but not let Nadal or Federer play, because they might win. PS: I won't get an FTD trophy, I'm not eligible
  16. Go crawl back into your frangipani
  17. Does anyone know where I can get some mudguards for my car?
  18. IRACE would be good to talk to as well - They are fantastic to get a licence with and logbooks etc - They will even accept your CAMS & AASA licence. Edit: I should mention, IRACE is full on racing (grid start)
  19. Awww thanks Grippy Results are here R1_Results.pdf
  20. Its in the Supp Regs that state championship is open to all categories, types 1-5 & SV, however the small print says type 5 are now allowed to get 'outright'. Even CAMS had to get me to show them where it was written that type 5 couldn't get outright. Define grass roots... I can spend 200k on a GTR R35, or on a Porsche, or on a Lotus and get Outright - Or I can spend a 1/4 of what some have spent in Red Group and not be considered grass roots. One particular Clubbie was ostracised because he was considered too quick. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it were club level, but this is not club level, its a State Championship and listed as State Level in the CAMS event - therefore, no longer 'grass roots'. There was a rule imposed for the 2008 Nationals that said you had to do 3 supersprints before being allowed to enter (the Nationals). So in order to run, Type 5 had to do 3 supersprints throughout the year... however, they were not allowed to win Outright. As I said before, there is a disconnect.
  21. There was an Aussie type car there... but get Neil or the others to confirm. Its a lot of fun, hence why I am still running and the people are fantastic.
  22. Depends how many modifications you have as to which class they put you in, but so long as your car is roadworthy (to pass scrutineering) and has all the right stickers i,e. battery etc you would be able to run. Its a lot of fun and they are great people (as all race people are).
  23. I know they have been like this for a few years, but this doesn't make them right. I knew the rules before I ran, and accept there is nothing for me in 2009. But I will not sit on my laurels and let this slide. As you are probably already aware, I have covered off my concerns in the Clubbies forum and you already know that I agreed to run under these conditions this year. But I won't shut up about it. I've already been approached about taking this to the press... but I will only go down that path if I need to. Especially given the reasons provided to me by CAMS, how childish was that? People can have opinions about me all they like, but I'm only trying to right a wrong decision which was nothing short of event fixing.
  24. WTF are you trying to say? I have been fighting this fight long before I ran yesterday. Group 4 rules? This is a CAMS State Championship, its not a Group 4 Championship. All categories are eligible, except for type 5 because someone was taking all their trophies at the State Championships (CAMS words not mine).
  25. This isn't most supersprints though... its the CAMS NSW State Championship, which leads into the Nationals (all categories eligible for outright). CAMS should not sanction a NSW State Championship (as opposed to say a V8 Championship) and allow all but one category. BLCC and TCC both have supersprints throughout the year and both allow type 5.
