well i got my suspension fixed, and they only took about 3 days, which is pretty good. fortunately my problem wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, or as it sounded to be. Advantage suspension fixed my car, nice guys too (owners name is Nathan). Initially we thought that we my shocker/damper needed reconditioning as the other 2 guys i took my suspension to said that my shocker was f!@#ed and it needed new shocks or reconditioning. it just so happened that the HR type suspension i had has already been reconditioned and were in really good nic. the problem was that it "ran out" of gas, as the damper consists of gas and oil mixed together. so he just filled it in with new shit. and good as new. A note for everyone with stuffed suspension, shocker, springs etc...always go to a couple of suspension places cause some try ripping u off, telling u, u cant fix em, and they're not rebuildable, but coincidentally they have a set of new dampers for 800 they can give to u!!!! not naming anyone!!! cough cough mt.alexander road, cough...cough

Hi Guys, I have Tien coilover suspension Type Hr's as well on my R33. I have been researching causes and solutions to this problem so guys im pretty much an expert on this issue. Im having the exact same problem large, loud thumping noise, sounds like something is hitting the chassis. MOST likely the shocker/damper needs reconditioning. the bushes/seals might be worn out or gone. the thumping noise is again most likely the top of the supsension hitting the chassis cause the damper isnt working properly. Oil is probably pissing out of the damper and f!@#en up ur shocker. Now this problem has been about a month or so for me....and ive still been driving around with the problem but i know that TYpe HR's are rebuildable as im dropping my car off to Advantage Suspension in East moorabin. He said he can do it. My suggestion is to get new shockers (if u can afford it) or recondition (if can they can be done). Note: the sooner u get it checked out the better because u dont want to bend the damper cause then u wont b able to rebuild it. Also u want to try and get em both sides rebuilt if u can, cause if one side has gone out then expect the other one to go out as well. Hope this helps

r33 sII skylines have stock BOV. They are hard to see...and dont even look remotely to an aftermarket (horn or other type) BOV. So i have one, u have one, everyone has a BOV on their car no matter what. (unless u have taken it out). from the factory they come with a stock BOV. So when the officer asked me if i had a BOV u wouldnt be stupid enought to say "why yes officer as a matter of fact i do, its the standard one and it come right here." All u need to say is no i dont. Plus when they ask u if u have a BOV they usually assume the riciey horn ones that are illegal. But just to make sure u dont say u have one at all. For two reasons i would say this: a) they dont know what the standard one looks like and it doesnt really do much (in terms of our EPA standards) B) the fact if u say u have a bov (regardless being standard) the copa's are inclined not to give u the benefit of the doubt and u'll get canaried. hope this helps. and predator lol about the SAU response book. that would piss em right off. and lukiasarob if u have 10 mods on ur car.....well u better come up with a better story than me. i dont think ur 10 mods could apply to my story...ie: "no officer...my boost controller, aftermarket BOV, and 1cm off the ground spoiler kit are perfectly legal according to ADR requirements. furthermore my 140DB exhaust reading is merely a misinterpretation of constructive wave intereference where the u have measured it at the highest point where the two sound waves intersect." lol. my advice would be to get familiar with legality of ur car....and maybe go to epa to get it checked out. cause a couple of mods (ie: less than 5) u can get away with...but 10.....well at least u know its a nice/rice/fast car.

As it was wet and raining last nite, the police were out to get drivers running a muck. And as our precious skylines are cop magnets i was one of to be targeted. As my friend and I were leaving a cafe we jumped into the beast and waited for both sides of the traffic to clear in order for me to pull a u-bolt. As i did this there was an unmarked copa on the side of the road waiting for me to "do something". As i just casually done the u-turn and proceeded to drive normally. A marked copa pulls me over, then the unmarked copa pulled in front of me so i was boxed in. So i was thinking here we go. this doesnt look like ur ordinary alcohol check. Asked me for my license, said here you go sir, gave me an alcohol test. passed it, then the copa in the unmarked Ford BA told me to pop my bonnet. As soon as he said that i was like shit!!!! so far it was standard protocol for an alcohol check but as soon as he said pop ur bonnet and get out, i was like daaaamn. So here is where i started to shine. Originally when i got pulled over i was quite and only answered the qns they asked me. as there were three cops in two cars (two uniformed in the marked VY commodore, and one undercover in the BA falcon) they all started to inspect my vehicle. The undercover seemed to be the copa that was getting asked the qns ie: the other two cops who had notebooks handy were asking the undercover copa if i could have "certain" items under my bonnet. In "my eyes" my car was totally "legal" and i proceeeded to convince all the cops that my car was perfectly legal!!! (no shit) i started to tell em in order: ->that i work at Ford and that i knew that the BA car that he was driving was a cop car, cause there was an antenna on the car (cause all the BA cars are on glass antenna's; exception of LWB.) here i scored some points with the copa's cause they knew two things: that i was an engineer for the car company that they are driving, and they knew that i knew about their car. so far Champinco 1, cops 0. ->that i regularly deal with ADR's at work and i knew about legality in turbo cars. Champinco 2, cops 0 ->that u can have two legal mods on ur car then its considered illegal. (i had way more than two), Champinco 3, cops 0 ->i have engineering certificates and ADR requirement sheets about my car at home, and i would be happy to provide them with such details. Champinco 4, cops 0 ->that i had no BOV (exception of the standard one which they dont know where it is!) Champinco 5, cops 0 ->my car was too low because my adjustable suspension was stuffed (it is atm) Champinco 6, cops 0 by the end of the inspection the two marked copa's didnt know wat was goin on, and in the end they asked the undercover copa if i was "alrite" (in terms of my car). he said cool and we all drove off hapily ever after. Man talk about close and talk about spinning shit!!! Even though what i was pretty much true anyways. I thought they were just going to dick me regardless. This has happened to me twice so far, so the only advice i can clearly give to ppl if they get pulled over for a "random breath test": ->is to act cool, be quite at the start, then if they start to inspect ur car, rip the shit out of em in the nicest way: ->ie: know ur rights, tell em ur rights, but not in a smart ass way...laugh and smile and say sir, or officer, talk about the cars that they have, chances are that they love the cars that their driving and they will enjoy the conversation if u know their car as well. ->and drop the whole ohh why did u pull me over attitude. put ur self in their shoes and say something like..."ohh i completely understand officer, I woudnt want to do that to my dads car or risk any one being hurt" (cause it was wet and he thought i was goin to go sideways when i pulled the u-bolt.) furthemore it wouldnt hurt to slur ur esses. ie: thanksss officer i really appreciate it. as i am wog and about 80 of the wogs driving skylines have to whole attitude thing goin ie: what man, what did i do man. I diddnt do nuffin, with the whole west side attidue (im from west so dont start saying shit), try to get rid of the accent and attitude for 5 mins cause it could save u a canary. try to speak sophisticated and use words that u and they dont know. this way they will be slightly intimidated when u speak to em. So in the end Champinco 6 Cops 0. p.s: sorry about the lengthy email. i hope it gets archived and ppl can try to learn about this issue. catch any other qns or thoughts add to this tread.

exactly correct. it doesnt compensate for the rear license plate. they should make one for behind as well. Furthermore what happens if ur on a freeway??? or worse if cops chase u then check it out???? there should be a switch inside the cabin that locks (both rear and back) plates down so that u can say "...nah its always down...maybe u should get ur eyes checked out officer."

wat about the r33 gtr advertised in the gainsville tv ad???? i think its gainsville in northcote? ha ha....funny as, they have porches, and ferrari's in those types of ads, and then they pull off a r33 gtr. nice one.

well hippy if u read my posts or threads on this issue you would find that i am in the same predicament as ur qn. I have taken it to two different places and they "say" they cant rebuild em. now i found a place that claim they do at a good price which im taking my car to this week. so ill inform u next week. u gave to be careful cause suspension places tend to say its not worth it and try to upgrade and sell u a whole new suspension set-up.

anyone else? are they worthwhile going down there...considering im from the west?

Guys... Im after a HA type Strut, damper or shocker or watever its called!!!! Sorry dont know whats the difference. i think they are all the same. I only require one. Cheers

Again me not knowing much i have a qn. And i think im correct when i say this: ->its safer to boost your car to 12psi if u have a FMIC, POD, and Exhaust (ie: air flow for your car) ->your car will perform better if u have these mods and u boost your car to 12psi than having a stock car with 12psi.

i have a qn..im new to this whole POD thing. all i know is that i have an HKS POD with a HKS big intercooler. would i or do i have to partition off the POD??? (put a box surounding around it?) Cheers

In order i would rank (most seen to rarely scene) or at least around my area and city: ->R33 series 1 (F!@#en heaps of em) ->R32 stockies (most of em thinking they are GTR's) ->R34 begginging to c heaps of em. heaps...especially after 2f2f ->R33 GTR (aaaawwww goshhhila) ->R32 GTR ->R33 Series 2 ->R31 not being biased in anyway cause i have r33 s2. but seriously i have seen more r34 and r32 gtr 's over r33 s2 on my side of town. and i would even toss up between R34 and R33 GTR (ranking wise)...lately i have seen a fair few r33 GTR's. goshhhila. but lets not get into this conversation involving other turbo performance vehicles. ie: s13, 14 15, rexies, 200sx, 300 zx etc.. etc... we will be here forever. as long as i dont have a rexy as being the most common turbo car on the street ill b happy. not dissing them but every every tom dick and harry has em. Including 80 yr olds! lol.

i agree with shell. i think (not 100% sure) but all gts-4 are non turbo (r33 version)

Yeah Gavin, and his brother....i cant remember his bro name. there is this other chinese dude named Kevin, and he is pretty sik at all of em as well. especially snk's vs. cap 2, and sf3, the parry one. Aurik ive played a couple of time...he;s pretty good in snk as well. Yeah that ozhadou web-site i registered ages ago havent been there in a while. i think i might check it out now. yeah i have probably played you. the only problem is there are so many asians i have played ex2 plus in, i dont cant remember who is who.
