  1. Is it really worthwhile purchasing one? for a r33 gtst sII with some slight mods: fmic pod catback soon boost controller, bov and dump pipe. I have read up on it, but is says that the sotck ecu in the nissans are just as good and the poer fc doesnt really make ur car faster just manages things better (better for your car in terms of looking after it???) Cheers
  2. is it a series II grille? insterested in front grille. please send me pics? pm me. cheers. or [email protected]
  3. well ive heard that these new imported laws are a way to "weed out" all the dodgy ppl doin imports. like franks above says the cost of compliance will rise. this is because to get an imported car complianced ie: skyline (or whenever the date will be/is") u will have to go to a certified complianced business. and there aren't too many of these business floating around. to become a certified complianced business u will need a proper workshop along with all the neccessary equipment fit for servicing, altering etc.... Now the reason why this will weed out the dodgy ppl gettting compliances is because to become this so called registered business you will need someone from canberra to come down to inspect it. I think this costs A LOT of money. It is my belief that the actual cars wont appreciate in value but follow the spiral trend of depreciation. Again as franks said it depends on a whole bunch of factors. However the prices for getting these plates will soon solely depend on these registered imported business-and that is a problem cause if there aint too many around and there is a demand for jap imports then they can charge a shit load. I predict that this wont happen until a couple of years time cause there are heaps of current jap imported cars in australia (ie: the ones that we drive now) Hope this all made sense and i hope im correct. not sure. ta ta
  4. i want to buy a BOV for my r33 series 2 wat is a good, reasonable prices easy to install BOV? please? b/w 100 and 200. and i prefer it to be an adjustable sound one? is that possible? cheers
  5. i have a HKS intercooler and piping at the front of my car. will it or does it get damaged if i dont cover it up? ie: put meshing in front of it? I have seen many cars with the intercooler showing, and i reckon they and mine look sik. however i am worried about the potential damage. when i mean damage i mean water, rain, pebbles, rocks, fumes?? etc.. cheers
  6. cheers waz, u wouldnt havent to happen a silver r32 with a personal no plate do u? did u go to overnewton?
  7. giving the car(thrashing it) i get 400, best so far 550-600 freeway driving no thrashing.
  8. hey waz, i live right next to mcintire road. in sunshine. which one is it? near which shop and wats it called???
  9. bc1980 ur insane if u dont get an r34. they look way way better than any of em. their heaps quick, not many ppl have em, and the color that u want is crazy. and like u said, it will keep its value (comparitive), they are a lot newer, and chances are u will have less troubles once u purchase it. dont get me wrong r32 gtr will hammer but its 12 year old car compared to a 3-4 yr old car. id go r34 gt-t. and watch the women go crazy. either way no matter what skyline ur gonna get insurance will be expensive. depending on wat type of insurance, company, previous history, and rating, ur looking at approx (ball park figure) $2500 for full about $700 for third. good luck. r34 is the way.
  10. anyone know any nissan wreckers in melb???preferably in d west side.
  11. benr I think $150 is way too much for a spoiler light. when i can fix it for about $30 dollars. the only reason why i cant fix it is cause the casing off the light is glued on and i dont want to break it off. i am goin to the wreckers to c if i can get one. if i cant ill offer you 50 for it. no way 150. sorry 2 b a bitch. CMS drifter is offering me a spoiler with light 4 100
  12. nah thats the one ive got. i have this grille on my sII car. i want the grille that u have on now. is the one u have on now the standard series II grille?
  13. im not sure if sII have one or not, but i have one. im pretty sure the sI back spoiler light will fit mine (or any spoiler light in the r33 series). how much do u want 4 it? just the light no spoiler.
  14. out of curiosity...my mate has a supra rz engine (i think its called), standard non-turbo supra. can he or is it possible for him to put a turbo in? i mean i know its possible but he seems to think that all he has to do is get the turbo and put it in (and only spend money on the turbo and installation-a couple of grand he rekons.). i thought that u would need a 2jz engine to cater for the turbo, or different wiring and along with the other shit to get it from a non-turbo to turbo.
  15. do u have a pic??? im not sure if its the one that i want. if u can show me a pic, we can talk then. im pretty sure the series I grille is the same that i have on now.
  16. pic? $200 too much.

  22. yeah i dont like the nismo one. thanks for showing me what it looks like. do u have a pic for the gtr grille?
  23. cool i sound intereted. show me some pics when u can. cheers.
  24. I was thinking of getting one, but pessimistic in getting on the idea as I am a communications engineer with a slight background on the theory behind it. If the car is worthwhile stealing then chances are on this car (with tracking system) the thief will know that it uses a similar concept to a GSM network. for example mobile phones, this tracking system uses the same topology as these mobile networks, so by the same concept of drop-outs and reception come into play. so if there is an area with no coverage or they know how to shield it appropriately you can kiss your car goodbye. Also u have to toss up if the thief knows a lot about these systems he/she would most likely work for the company or is a proffesional thief, they wouldnt go to the trouble of stealing a skyline. some cases i have read are on high end cars like a porche or GTR's. however then u have the thiefs that know or dont care about the quiktrak system and still attempt or steal the car. It all depends on the company you get it from. I have done some research and quicktrack cover a substantial amount of coverage, and cause they use an independent network (so to speak) they dont have to worry about congestion traffic or call drop-outs as "phone" companies do. ie. there is no "hang on i cant hear you the network must be busy" (ie.optus free time) sorry about the double ie's, quotations, and double brackets)) I would definetely get one they are worthwhile for piece of mind...im just jealouse cause i cant afford it!!! and i dont think its feasible on a gtst, worthwhile if its a really good one or gtr or any other high performace, highly stolen vehicle. ie. WRX big problem. and as JimX said whats stopping a tow truck stealing it. dont say no way cause it happened to my mates shitty corolla off chapel street!!!
  25. i have also seen (for sale) a tommy kaira in white? im not sure could of been a rip-off one. i think they come with everything (ie. sunroof as well, body kit, white rims, etc...) but the purple one sounds legit to me.
