  15. Thank you all again. i will put an extra litre of oil in the rb in the morning of the track day. I use castrol edge 25-50w would any one sudgest any different or is that fine for an older motor?
  16. I own an r32 GTR that is being built for track. Most of my time has been spent at ahg and on the 12th of june i get the chance to run the car at full noise before pulling it apart for new turbos and a few other upgrades. With the sessions at the end of june and in july, can any one attend? What are the car/driver requirements. Oh and hope you have a blast in WA.
  17. I am looking at investing in a sump extension. From what I gather Micks Metal Craft ones hold the most oil in them and seem to be praised as the best on the market. But, they cost a fortune and the engine needs to be out to install them. What about the Trust ones? Is it true that they poke out the bottom and reduce the clearance of the car? I know mods need to be done to the sump to fit them but can it be done on a hoist or is it s motor out job? Are there any inherit faults with the unit? Any help will be welcome. thank you all in advance.
  18. fair enought. thanks guys. so you reckon the bottom end is only save for about 370hp at the wheels. i keep getting figures of 400 to 430hp oh well i guess imports realy are a black art. thanks again for the info.
  19. thank guys. At this point in time the bottom end is stock (than agin with the test that have been done no one can realy be sure, some strange results). I am not looking for high rpm. I am looking at getting as much lift as possible. if i can get a cam with about 10mm lift and under 270 duration, that would be great. I am going to get springs either way. also want to get new guides and retainers. powers wise I am not looking any more than 500hp @ wheels. thats more than enough for alot of fun in these cars (well for me anyways). I will be building a motor in the next few months but for now I am slowly buying all the gear for that. Right now I have funds available for the work i described above and carilo rods (damn they cost alot). so can you drop in guides and retainers to?
  20. Hi all I am about to upgrade my camshafts. I was looking at the HKS 272/10.20 on both sides. I am getting conflicting evidance about the drop in ability of these cams. I am being told that as long as they are no more than 272 duration and less the 10.25mm lift i am ok. is this true? I am also looking at definetly fitting HKS springs to match. Also looking at getting tomei bronze guides and JUN titanium retainers. Good idea to change the olds gear anyways. Are those parts drop in? any help is very welcome.
  21. How much would you sell the whole setup for? I wasnt going to go all out on my GTR and this will be a stupid question for some but would this still be drivable on the street for an odd weekend run? My main goal will be for drag but I would like to drive it to the strip. Cheerz!!!
  22. I am just in the process of getting all the parts for the top end of my bnr32 rb26. The head is of the car and is going to get some light clean up work done. I am going with HKS step 2 270/10.2 cams step 2 HKS springs, HKS guides and retainers. I am alos installing a slightly thicker HKS head gasket to drop the compression ratio slightly. Is there anything else I should look at getting done in the top end? The car will see mostly circuit work and I will most likely run trust T618z on it. Bottom end is all taken care of. Sos is the fuel, water and oil systems. Also I was comparing the prices of JUN and HKS gear and they work out to be pretty much thesame. I know it is very much a personal preference sort of thing but would any of you choose one over the other and for what reasons? Both are available as complete kits. with only the head gasket being a seperate buy. Thank you all for your non stop help.
  23. I tried to find em but with no joy. I found all sorts of pics but no turbo ones.
  24. Its from a jap factory and they make motor for huge liners. Its one of there diesel motors and believe it or not they come in a twin turbo format. Some facts on the 14 cylinder version: Total engine weight: 2300 tons (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.) Length: 89 feet Height: 44 feet Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm would this win the summernats dyno comp????
  25. From some of the stuff I read, The gtr700 ran petrol and HKS gtr ran HKS race fuel which is close to petrol. All 3 run air to air intercoolers with gtr 700 and heat treatment both running the super thick trust drag spec items (like kier wilson). Dont know if the GTR-700 will race this month against reece but it is aparently got a whole new engine ready to go. Cant wait to see reece run though. luck for me the plane tickets are cheap cause every one is buying up to go to melbourne. I think the new record should be a given. If all goes well i reckon we might even see a low 7.
