  1. Have a look at these... http://www.bc-racing.com.au/accessories.html no idea if they'll fit exactly but they're so cheap it's worth just getting them to see.

  3. G'day mate - PM'd and emailed, haven't heard back RE: door trims/tool kit pickup?? I will take them, just want to know when to get them!!
  4. Can you email photo's to [email protected] for door trims? Didn't know they had factory tweeter holes?? Also what condition are they in? Any scuffs/marks?
  5. Yes, it is behind the steering wheel. It's been a few years since I took it off, but from memory there are a couple of plastic caps on the steering surround that cover up the bolts. Unclip them with a flat head screwdriver, then you need a tamper proof torx driver to undo the steering wheel. You should disconnect the battery before you tamper with anything so the airbag doesn't accidentally go off. There should be a disc type sensor arrangement with a wiring harness plugged into it on the back side of the steering wheel (this is the steering angle sensor), can't remember if it's mounted to the steering wheel itself or the surrounding housing.
  6. Ended up finding a suitable replacement, so if anyone has the same issue this may be usefull. Firstly, I tried going through Fulcrum to get a set of the Aus spec SS coilover upper mounts (these have a rubber upper bush ilo a pillow ball) and also tried to order a set of 4kg rear springs. They were less than helpful, (tried head office, melbourne distribution centre and 2 different authorised workshops and no-one was interested in supplying the parts.) After that I started contacting other aftermarket coilover dealers, Ryan from ISC who is on these forums was very helpful and ended up purchasing a pair of upper mounts to suit the N1 coilover for R33. They have an aluminium mount with a rubber bush and steel insert which fit perfectly with the tein spring and obviously still mounted to the vehicle. They also have a rubber seat between the spring and upper mount which keeps things quieter. The ISC upper mounts suit 65mm spring ID and 12.5mm diameter piston rod - same as the tein. Possibly other makes may be interchangeable, just a matter of finding some dealers that can supply spare parts - most I contacted would only sell the entire set of coilovers. On the road is much better than pillow ball, much quiter and a little more compliance than before. Interestingly with the pillow balls out I expected to be able to feel free play in the bearing - could not feel any at all though by hand. They actually looked in very good condition, they are just not suited to normal (rough) road surfaces. Now just need a set of lower rate springs to get even more rear compliance. P.S - best thing is that the ISC upper mounts were much less than half price of replacement pillow ball mounts from Tein. Highly recommend dealing with ISC!
  7. Most people with pillow ball upper mounts will eventually realise that on a street car they are a noisy pita when they are worn out, it has been talked about from time to time on these forums. I've been trying to find replacements for a set of Tein flex, but it's difficult finding anyone that will sell them individually without buying new coilovers. Have searched through the forums but appart from people posting up about noisy pillow balls and fitting replacement spherical bearings, not really much other info. So, surely someone around here knows where to get replacemen upper mounts, preferably with rubber bushings? If so where did you get them and how much were they? Specifically, for an R33 with Tein Flex. P.s - if anyone can confirm that the OEM upper mounts can fit to tein flex springs that would be a good start, not sure if they are the same OD. From looking at pics of the standard shocks they look tapered, think the tein springs are straight and smaller diameter. Cheers.
  8. Also forgot to mention - mine never auto retracted, didn't matter what position the switch was in. If I left it in the extend position, once the engine was switched off they stayed extended. Only ever folded in manually, then had to flick the switch to get them back out next time. Seems strange for an OEM to have different functions on the same model...I would think that some peoples must have been customized. When I installed mine, still had what looked like the factory tape/quality check marks etc on the loom so looked pretty standard.
  9. Hey all, Just installed one of these units courtesy of Tom and works a treat. My car (R33 SII '96) has a turbo timer too, mirror's fold in after the timer expires and engine turns off with no problems. Haven't had any issues, installation was pretty easy - great instructions that come with it too! The unit itself is nice and neat, very proffessional. Nice work Tom...what are you going to come up with next!??

  16. Item: Full set (4 off) R32 GTST rims fitted with Bridgestone RE40s SEMI SLICK tyres. From memory they are 195/50 R16, but will check and confirm (at my dad's place in storage right now). These are DOT approved so legal for road used. Condition: Used, Ok for 1 or 2 more track days, motorkahna or spares for daily driver if needed. They still get pretty sticky when hot, have a tread left. The rims are a bit dirty (like that when I got them) but I cleaned one and comes up pretty good with a bit of elbow grease. Don't get too put off on the width, I used them on an R33 for 2 track days and since they are not too wide they heat up really well. Much better than any regular road tyre. I bought them off a guy with a SIV RX7 so assuming they fit them as well, Reason for selling: Bought them only to use on track days, but need some cash so clearing them out. They are just sitting in the garage right now. Price: Bargain basement - $375 for tyres and rims!!!!! Location: Melbourne eastern suburbs. Pick up prefered or buyer can organise courier. Pics of tread to come, as I said they are at they're at the old man's place so will go round to photograph ASAP. Here's one on the car at least... contact at [email protected] or 0403 509 483
