  1. HKS SSQV btw did the server die or something yesterday? couldn't access the forums for the whole of thursday night...
  2. am I the only one with an atmo-BOV, no SAFC, and with no stalling problems whatsoever?:alien: now backfiring, that's a different issue...:uh-huh:
  3. just keep your ears open for any weird sounds coming from the garage...
  4. - as in getting stolen I think...
  5. just beware of thieves now that your roller-shutter's busted....winthrop's ain't got the cleanest record in terms of break-ins.....too many rich asian folks living there i reckon... still...how would an old lady(being old as she is) miss where she was going, go up ur driveway and onto your garage??
  6. yes.... how ever did you know? haha....bangladeshi workers...so many funny stories in the army..:bahaha:
  7. bangladeshi car washers...
  8. got that right, once on a wet night on a long straight stretch on the freeway doing 140 on fifth, when the slip light come on...wtf? real spooky...didn't even know there's any wheelspin...probably very mild. took it easy after that...
  9. that happened to me once, I had an Autowatch with the ultrasonic sensors so any movement within the car would set it off. there was this night when i was at a friend's place, alarm went off, went out to check it out...nothing. 2-3 mins later alarm went off again...went out to check again...nothing! Decided to sit in my car for awhile and see what's going on, turns out there was a bloody moth trapped inside that was setting the sensors off!
  10. always on means not working, phew and I thought I had a problem with mine...the slip light is a diffrent matter though
  11. that happened to me once when I had the boost gauge put in airbag light went flashing whenever ignition was turned on, it happens when the car senses a voltage leak or something or other...but they finally cleared it all up and I believe it was with the instructions you got(they told me they got it from the internet too) anyway, i believe the switch is the little black rubber button thingy on the drivers side door near where the sticker for the tyre specs should be, i saw him pressing it a number of times along with some other stuff he did.
  12. >> MrMayhem $250 for the down pipe? or just for the dump? or just front?
  13. as Doctor said, definately do NOT accidentally touch the globe it self, as the oils from your finger prints can cause globes to burst when the globe heats up.
  14. thanks SHUTO-BOY!
  15. anybody knows where to get them 'approved' helmets? What kinda standards(helmets) are they looking for anyway
  16. i'm sure there are some out there. Depends on where you are, local/interstate workshop? Largely depends on *see above response*, and also how much work you are doing. As mentioned, depends on how 'tuff' you want the original one to be rebuilt to.
  17. Get some sort of fuel management computer(your budget) to maximise your current mods - free up more HP complete your exhaust system from turbo back also make sure your drivetrain/brakes/fuel system is up to the task
  18. Is your the SSQV? Mine does that now too(fluttering) ever since I put in my FMIC. I think you have to loosen the tension screw.
  19. so you're saying is most of us don't really boost often enuff to warrant the use of a TT to cool down unless for those who do much track/circuit work? I've often heard it's better to ease off the boosting for the last portion of your journey as to let the air cool down the car, rather than let it idle for 5 mins under the sun(heatsoak) I'm just paranoid i guess, better to be safe than sorry. Just hoping to get some sorta mental visual picture of the engine's/turbo temperature rather than a beeping countdown. Might get some temp gauges in the future. Thanks for that.
  20. I've read some people having issues with how 'smart' the TT is in calculating that, not sure if it's the HKS one. I've been interested in that timer ever since I've gotten into turbo cars(since then many more other brands have incorporated that into their timers). But just how accurate are those 0-400m timings? I'm tempted to get the G-Tech PRO II(maybe splitting the cost with a friend)
  21. so how does it really calculate how hard the car has be driven? Do those timers come with some sort of temperature probe? (what would they probe, that's what I want to know)
  22. As the topic suggest, I'm pondering on using something else to gauge how long should the car be appropriately cooled down. No offense to those who pre-program their TTs to 3 mins regardless of how short their trips may be(hey I know of some people) But I think there's got to be a better way than to 'go by feel' or using your gut instincts to estimate. :uh-huh: I've read that it's much more accurate to monitor(this is the part i'm confused) either the oil temperature(?) or the exhaust gas temperature(?) to accurately know when your turbo/engine is sufficiently cooled down before a shut-off. :burnout: I'm thinking of getting one of these gauges(or maybe both), has anybody got any past experiences on this? cheers y'all
  23. i'm also trying to use back as much of the existing system(which has a tv screen) in my car. Seems that most of them audio salesmen aren't interested in solutions and instead are always pushing me to get one a new unit from them. I mean getting the TV to tune in to local stations would be a costly idea, but surely I can whack on a CD stacker at least?
  24. I have those purple fin inserts that alters the sound to a deeper(although softer) 'whoosh' sound.
  25. though the TV has to be converted(costly) to tune in to the signals here, but how about just using the screen to watch programs via a DVD/VCD stacker?
