  1. Just wanted to say thanks to Khoa for taking the time out to write up and share the technical details on this conversion. A truely international DIY article, as I'm probably the first person in the Northern Hemisphere (Ireland to be exact). I can say that I've just completed this conversion using the same parts and its spot on. The difference between the car now that its a manual, is like night and day. much more responsive! Many thanks man for all the information. Just to note, I used a series one gearbox and I think that the sensors are reversed. The car though that it was in reverse when it was in neutral. needless to say that it was a very late night! If you want to check which sensor position you have just do the following. Put the gearbox into reverse, use a mulitmeter on diaode test and check for a circuit. If the multimeter buzzes just drop the stick back into neutral and make sure that you dont have a circuit anymore. Saves a lot of time. Well done and keep up the good work. John
  2. I'm just after doing all this on my R34. Nissan actually do a timing belt serice kit which comprises of all the above. Quite handy.
  3. I'm an expert on the VSS system, as I had so many problems with mine. On the NISMO exhaust the pipe heading from the CAT to the muffler splits in two as it gets to the muffler. On one of the pipes going into the the muffler is an exhaust control valve which opens or closes depending on which mode your in Sports or Silent. This effectly makes the exhaust quiter when the vlave closes. Essentially its just like a remote version of the Apexi Exhaust Control Valve, but not as good. To check if the vlave is working you can look in the trunk. The actuator is located behind the panel where the jack is stored. When you press the switch you'll see the wheel move opening the valve. I've taken mine off as I've replaced the exhaust with a HKS Super Drager. They are very prome to seizing and other stupid problems. Hope that helps. John

  5. Hey Stan, Got the delivery of the Sils. Sent you a PM. Arrived in double quick time (considering the distance) and in perfect condition. Have them dry fitted to the car and the quality is absolutely superb. Cant thank you enough! Any news on the cooling panel and rear bar aprons yet? Getting a real hunger for the Carbon Fibre! John
  6. Hey guys, I've actually just got some of these for my R34. I used a company from the UK if thats any help for you. The company is http://www.undergroundgraphics.com They cost in the reqion of about St£100, and you'll also need to supply them with the length of your car and also the colours you want the stripes in. They supply the graphics as three individual colours as this is the best result, but means that they are harder and more expensive to install. however the result is much better. I'm sure however that there are Graphics Companies down there in Aus. just make sure that they have supplied the graphics before or else you'll need a very good picture of then so they can copy it.   7. Hi, I have the Super Dragger on my R34 GTT. I have no issues with scraping and it sits up quite neatly under the bumper. From the side of the car you can just see the bottom part of the stainless steel muffler sitting under the bumper. To install, it was quite easy, did it my self. It comes in two parts, first section is from the cat back, and is about 1.5 meters in length. It has a small silencer built in. The muffler section is about the same length and the two bolt together with 4 bolts and a gasket. If you do go for the Super Dragger, be warned that the muffler is huge when sitting on your kitchen floor. I was amazed at the size of the thing. And in all fairness to HKS when its on the car its a really neat and small install. The hardest thing with the install was getting the old exhaust off. Two bolts hold it to the cat and these usually have seen better days. The sound from the exhaust has a bit of bass. not too much and this cools off when the exhaust warms up. From inside the car the exhaust is nice and quiet, and from outside gives a nice low sound. If you stand beside the car and rev it, the engine is actually louder than exhaust. Over all, its a very good purchase. John
  8. Perhaps if people know whats involved, then they will understand why its best to leave it to the professionals.

Just to add to the bonnett lip. you really should run screws through with the adhesive tape. reason why, is you will try and llift your bonnett by the lip, and eveny if you dont, your mechanic will. I just drilled two holes through the bonnett where the lip sits, dry mount the lip, mark the place you put the holes and drill them in the lip when its off the bonnett. Then just screw the bonnett lip on. John

  11. Hi Guys, Anyone know how to change the oil in the R34 Automatic box. Cant figure out how to get the oil out of the box? Any help on this would be great. John
