Nah, 19 is when you should be doing them! When you are are young and have all that energy to run around after them! You can afford to get divorced 'cause you don't have any assets to split! I could go on, but don't want too many bricks thrown at me..

How To: Stagea Headunit/stereo Removal
ian replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
finally did mine... The wire descriptions Alex has put up in the first post are the same in My S2 fours S, so it saved me a lot of time! On the rear speakers, 1) the speaker covers don't seem to come off 2) there doesn't appear to be any screws on the whole door panel (as mentioned earlier in this post). Ideas anyone?? Ian -
I know, lets start a competition for the top 5 (expanded later if we need to) reasons we haven't got our CD's yet. Politically incorrect should get bonus points. I'll start off - "The guy posting them went home when the commonwealth games finished, and took them with him" "global warming melted the stamps of the envelopes, so they have been returned to the sender, who accidentally put the wrong return address." "an Australian Idol star has stolen them, as they were desperate for more CD's to record demos on" "A miner in Tasmania has them, and he is having trouble getting to a post office" Come on, get your suggestions rolling! I'm actually finding that I often prefer driving the R34 compared to the stagea. They both have the NEO engine etc, but around town I prefer the auto! (remember, it's the much better tiptronic R34 auto than what is in the series 1 stageas, with paddles on the steering wheel as well..) Although the manual does stop one problem out on the highway, in the R34 if you are doing 100km/h and pull out to go past a big truck (remember I do a lot of country driving) on a road that doesn't have that much room, you put the foot down a bit. But then SEVERAL things happen - the computer drops it a gear, the revs leap up, the turbo spools up because of the rev increase, and you're suddenly doing 160km/h a few seconds later! No problem overtaking, but you have to hope there isn't a radar around! Whereas with the manual, you put the foot down a bit and you smoothly increase speed as it hasn't dropped a gear and made the turbo go... Actually, on that, another off topic point - the stagea turbo definitely 'comes in' at a different point than the R34 turbo...

Although maybe this is better - :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

..and I'm assuming you didn't want my R34? (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=98570) (put it up here a while ago for sale, no takers so have kept it. Wife still mentions it a bit though, as we don't really need it and the stagea...) Ian.

Like the smilie - sums up the situation perfectly...

do a search, we have already discussed this in detail.

I'd say we all take turns adding a reply, to keep it at (or near) the top of the post list... As we haven't got a response yet...

ian replied to stasis's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yes, you have model TGKNRFAC34UDAP88AZ, external color kr4 (which I'm pretty sure was silver for all nissans), internal color Z (grey), 4wd, rb26dett, manual. As far as I can tell - and it is a 260rs. -

Strongly agree with alex, send the VIN number to either him or me, or post it, so we can check what it actually is! (just to make sure!). Ian -
I too am happy to drive over and pick up a disk. If not, can I drive over and get the $20 back? Ian

Anyone seen the yellow S-2 at JAC (Sydney)?
ian replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
auto and too expensive see http://www.japaneseautocentre.com.au/view.php?search=4# (that might work..)... -
As does my 2001 four s I don't know why so many people complain about it either, I LIKE HICAS! I agree I don't go out to the track, but on those long country drives, with the cruise control on, I just go around the highway bends like they weren't there... It makes such a difference to have the back wheels tracking into the corner.. (my wife keeps on asking me why all cars don't have four wheel steering...) Ian

I normally get things in a day, but nothing has arrived. Can you check that you sent it to the address I PM'd you?

As I've said in many many posts - the km's WILL NOT BE GENUINE. I looked at every series 2 S in the Japanese Auction system for over 6 months and RARELY saw one with less that 60K kms, with most having over 80K kms. Take todays auctions for example - there are series 2 S having 136,000kms (starting price 650K) , 67,000kms (starting price 790K), 142,000 kms (starting price 750K). And they are grade Accident, 4.0, and 3.5 respectively.. Lets see how much the 67,000kms grade 4.0 one goes for... Look back through some old auctions, there was one 1999 Four S with 45,000Kms a few weeks ago which you would have been able to directly buy, get here, and rego for about $30K. But that's no profit for the dealer, and reasonably rare.... But what I've also said in quite a few posts IGNORE THE KM'S ANYWAY. These cars are made to go and last, it doesn't fall apart at 100,00kms (or even 200,000kms+). So as one of the other posts says, look at it in detail and decide on what you can see, not the kms.. Ian

Might be easy, but they are giving me quotes of $300 (I don't think they want to do jobs that small...)... Ian

There is a lot of difference to having a front bar on it and and being a 260rs! I looked around a lot before buying the S2 S that I did, and could find no evidence that any had been made with the S2 frame as the base, and the R34 GTR engine/brakes etc added. And that's what I would have called a 260rs s2, not a series 2 stagea with a R33 GTR upgrade (ie like a series 1 260RS). If they exist, I didn't see one in over 6 months of watching the japanese auction market, or on any web page... And the latest real 260RS I ever saw (checking the VIN in FAST) of a proper 260rs (ie not just a few body parts) was 1998... I'll be happy if they are out there and I just didn't find them, but post the link and VIN number so we can make sure what it exactly is ie not just the body kit! Ian

Any idea where I could get a small amout of bayside blue? I still haven't done my left hand mirror... (I've got a 'new' one but it is the wrong color..). Ian
-
My understanding is that it has't been made for ages...
-
either that or a copy of the japanese plate - it is pretty easy to tell...
-
I looked at these before buying my (the wifes) series 2, but decided not to due to 1) only in auto, and 2) engine change to the VQ25DET - and I preferred to stay with the tried and trusted RB25DET NEO. Instead I got the latest series 2 S I could find, which was only a few months before they stopped making them..
