I agree, but the standard ones from a r34 GTX turbo e 17inch by 8 with whatever offset they have, don't.
-
And my suggestion (as discussed at length in a number of other posts) is to completely ignore the km's on the clock as 90%+ of the cars out there have them wound back. So ignore it and concentrate on everything else, ie rust, seats, steering wheel, pedals, suspension, underneath condition, gearbox feel, is the clutch slipping, are the brake disks ok, etc etc... Ian

I suspect they won't be happy waiting to the next meet, so mail them out! (I assume you had no trouble getting rid of the password? If not, send me a pm). Ian

Modified Stagea Artical, Not A Bad Read
ian replied to darrinspencer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Does that mean (as the article says) that all the series 2 S cars - ie the one I got for the wife:) - have the R33 GTR gear box? Ian -
No, I meant I was tempted to weld one together from scratch...
-
Mind you, looking at Alex's one, I was tempted just to make my own (if I was a bit more confident of my welding standing up to what I might end up towing... )
-
Give I don't want to muck around with 'a bit of welding' I've booked mine in in Melbourne for two weeks time. Will do a rated 2000kg, costs a bit more ($770 fully made and fitted), but doesn't require a trip to canberra, or one sent down that might need tweeking.. I'll keep everyone informed. Ian

It could have improved, but years ago I tried all of them in a range of nissan cars and had various problems. Mobile was the best by a long way (ie no problems, just not as good as shell or BP), but all the 'independant' ones were a real pain. One car I had to drain the petrol out of the tank (engine miss firing etc etc..) after filling it up... Ian
-
Yep, have you got a date? Can't you send them out as they are now? Ian
-
Alex, can you put up some detailed pictures of what he sent down, and say what the bit of welding you have to do is?? Ian
-
How have the guys who got them sent down to Melbourne gone? Report & pictures???? I have found someone in Melbourne who will do a 2000kg rated one for $770 fully installed - just wondering if I should get one sent down, or get it built locally... Ian
-
OK, it's taken me a while, but I pulled a wheel of the series 2 S (with the standard 17inch wheels) today. The Rims are 17x7JJ 30 My 8inch rims (standard) from the R34 GTX turbo don't fit - well they fit, but there is no way I would have taken it for a drive as the rubber would have been rubbing quite a few things... Hope that helps.
-
Interesting - it stills goes ok on the 95 if you put your foot down a bit?? Strong advice after lots of nissans - NEVER put anything except the shell or BP fuel in them! I've update my starting post to summarise what everyone has said. Ian

I'm sure we had a post that discussed this, I just can't find it... Had mine for over 6 months now, so have got the longer term numbers.. Around town it's doing 14l/100km, and on the country drives (with the cruise control on) it's doing 10.5l/100km if I leave it on about 100km/h. That's for a rs four S (2001) with a good cruise control (top of the range rostra), and no mods. Ian So, summarising the posts below - AMS - 300 to 350kms per tank Humble 350-370kms per tamk, once 410 AlexCim 530km fom 55l on a cruise ie 10.3l/100kms wagon 18l/100kms muck 14-16l /100kms for city, 11l/100km for country beastien 400kms per tank around town ska 400kms per tank around town Tangles 380-410kms per tank around town Sydneykid 14.5l/100kms in peak traffic, 13.0l/100k not peak, 11k/100k country terminal 350kms per tank sy300 14-15l/100kms around town, 10-11l/100kms country 3intheBack 12.5l/100kms mix city/country GoldZilla 13-15l/100kms thedriver 12.5l/100kms mixed (but in cantberra) In summary, around town in traffic you should use 14 to 15l per 100kms, and out in the country you should get 10 to 11l per 100kms. If you are outside those bands either 1) you've got a problem with the car! or 2) you're hooning quite a bit.. Ian

Not quite, as the 17inch wheels (standard) on my R34 GTX Turbo (which I think had better wheels than the standard GTT) were the 8inch wide (AVS) ones. Where as the wheels on my 2001 RS 4 S (standard) are 17 inch but 7.5 inches wide... (Yep, been looking at the wheels..

seperate is probably better for the people with slow PC's, together is probably better for the fast ones. Though if it is 360mb you can do BOTH on the one CD! Problem solved... :-) Shan, you haven't replied to my PM, did you get it? Ian
-
Nope, it's response is reasonably fast. I get changing values through the consult interface about every 60mS, ie from one of my recent test runs (with my new program) (and ignore what units the boost etc are in) (and no, not a hard launch!) - Time RPM Speed km/h Throttle Injection Time ms Timing (degree BTDC) Boost 0.517 712.5 2 0.82 3.19 12 1 0.546 712.5 2 0.82 3.52 11 1 0.576 712.5 2 0.82 3.84 10 1 0.620 762.5 2 0.82 3.66 14 22 0.649 800 2 0.82 4.01 20 22 0.678 825 2 0.82 4.16 20 22 0.709 912.5 2 0.82 4.34 20 55 0.757 987.5 2 0.82 4.19 22 55 0.786 1037.5 2 0.82 4.24 23 55 0.811 1125 2 0.82 4.31 23 89 0.859 1187.5 2 0.82 4.46 26 89 0.889 1250 2 0.82 4.43 26 89 0.914 1300 2 0.84 4.44 27 113 0.962 1350 2 0.86 4.40 27 113 0.991 1387.5 2 0.88 4.43 28 113 1.016 1412.5 2 0.92 4.48 27 125 1.064 1437.5 2 0.92 4.49 27 125 1.093 1437.5 2 0.94 4.37 27 125 1.123 1437.5 2 0.94 4.38 27 134 1.158 1412.5 2 0.94 4.43 27 134 1.187 1400 2 0.94 4.46 27 134 1.216 1362.5 2 0.94 4.42 26 137 1.260 1350 2 0.94 4.50 26 137 1.290 1312.5 2 0.94 4.51 25 137 1.319 1300 2 0.96 4.61 25 137 1.363 1275 2 0.98 4.73 24 137 1.392 1250 2 0.98 4.70 23 137 1.421 1237.5 2 0.98 4.80 22 136 1.465 1175 2 1.00 4.90 22 136 1.494 1175 2 1.00 5.15 22 136 1.524 1150 2 1.00 5.21 21 143 1.568 1125 4 1.00 5.26 21 143 1.597 1125 4 1.00 5.28 20 143 1.642 1087.5 4 1.00 5.31 20 149 1.670 1075 4 1.00 5.41 20 149 1.700 1037.5 4 1.00 5.39 20 149 1.729 1037.5 4 1.00 5.40 19 155 1.781 1012.5 4 1.00 5.51 19 155 1.810 987.5 4 1.00 5.43 19 155 1.841 975 4 1.00 5.49 18 157 1.884 987.5 4 1.00 5.53 19 157 1.913 1025 4 1.00 5.53 18 157 1.951 1087.5 4 1.00 5.52 19 163 1.980 1087.5 4 1.00 5.40 20 163 2.009 1125 4 1.00 5.49 21 163 2.054 1187.5 4 1.00 5.46 21 165 2.083 1200 4 1.00 5.34 22 165 2.112 1225 4 1.00 5.42 22 165 2.156 1237.5 4 1.00 5.40 22 165 2.185 1275 4 1.00 5.29 22 165 2.214 1275 4 1.00 5.36 23 165 2.245 1287.5 4 1.00 5.32 23 166 2.293 1287.5 10 1.02 5.34 23 166 2.323 1312.5 10 1.02 5.34 23 166 2.360 1362.5 10 1.04 5.20 24 168 2.389 1400 10 1.06 5.23 24 168 2.419 1437.5 10 1.06 5.20 24 168 2.450 1462.5 10 1.08 5.21 25 180 2.498 1500 10 1.12 5.24 25 180 2.542 1512.5 10 1.16 5.40 25 180 2.552 1525 10 1.22 5.55 24 191 2.600 1525 10 1.26 5.63 25 191 2.629 1575 10 1.30 5.75 25 191 Ian

Yep, that's mine! Or as I should say, the one I bought the wife (I still drive the R34 GTX turbo around a bit..) Ian -
i agree - ie just like mine!
-

How Often Do You Hit The Redline/revlimiter?
ian replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Absolutely! oil, oil oil! It's why they didn't want to sell these (ie skylines) in the USA, as they don't take care of their cars... Ian -
The problem was that we were scattered all around the different car parks (the park was packed with some big event). So not sure if anyone took pics.. Ian

It's a sign of how young you are if you think 45 is old! I suspect he was just having a go to see if that would make you not make the noise... ..and no, you aren't going to blow it up... Ian Ps, if you still live at home, then your parents have a perfect right to tell you to do things their way. If you don't like it, shift out and pay for things yourself, then you have the right to do it your way... -
I'm definitly in - I have a series 2, but I'm sure it will be usefull.... Ian
