Heya all I'll be there for TAS 2012, flying out Saturday night as it's my last day in Japan (after 3wks). I'm completely free from the 9th till the 14th and would like to check out some car stuff like Nissan (I own a 32R), Toyota (I'm in production management and they are world leaders in lean manufacturing), Mazda (owned a tidy and tough RX3 and spent 15yrs playing with rotors) Beer in Japan anyone?? Heya all Massive thanks for the informative feedback, I haven't had a chance to read the replies thoroughly until now. You've helped narrow my search quite a bit, thanks again guys!! Mark

Heya all Sorry for the dig, but felt I'd throw my $0.02 in after recently buying a GPS timer. I went for a RaceChrono Pro unit from http://racechrono.com.au/ It was $550 delivered and I'm more than happy with it!! I've found it great on track being able to see differences lap by lap (even split to split) by giving the opportunity to adjust driving style on-the-fly rather than session by session at a trackday. It's also awesome to setup a 'track' anywhere you like. So living in the mountains I have a few roads I regularly time myself on I sold it to myself by saying it'd make my track time more productive and hopefully allowing me to improve a little faster. Also great for private practice days at the creek Just rock up, chuck down your $135, start the timer and rip skidz!! No mess, no fuss!! I'm happy to show anyone what this thing is capable of if you're considering buying one Mark!!

Heya all I'm looking into intercoms for tarmac events and have noticed a huge difference between brands/models. What's the G-O?? I've had one acquaintance swear by Stilo over his old Terratrip, BUT he also changed to a Stilo helmet at the same time, so I have no doubt the earmuff majiggas would have helped and the only difference wouldn't be just the amp. I already have a Bell fullface as the Stilos didn't fit my brain so I need headset too. Who's had experience with what brands/models and why is it better than something else?? If I need to spend money to hear what's happening, then so be it, I just don't wanna go too cheap and have to re-purchase OR spend up big and walk away with a sore ass. Thanks in advance guys!! Mark

Diff / transfer case coolers
GOD12A replied to Amaru's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Heya there Luke Thanks for the info. I've come across some extra info and pics. To get all DIY, there's a '5R Racing' brand pump that's a rebranded VDO 12v high temperature, low pressure, oil pump with an operating temp to 150deg C. They seem to be a bit over $300AUD on the net, so through usual workshop contacts, I'm sure it'll come down to a bit over $200 for the pump alone. I've read they're available through Repco, but I haven't checked as yet (Rocket Industries etc sell them too, but prepare to be bent over). Weldon also have a #9200-A oil transfer pump that is made for this application, but obviously $$$ unless you know someone with an Earls account Some extra pics I've found for future reference: Remember that being a low pressure system, high pressure hoses and fittings aren't necessary as you'll easily blow >$100 on fittings to make something under the car look fancy (and braided hose/fittings are also heavier than pushlock hose/fittings!!) Just some extra info for now, Mark -
Diff / transfer case coolers
GOD12A replied to Amaru's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Heya all Sorry for the dig, but what came of this?? I have found the following part numbers for the OEM aus-spec transfer case cooler setup but would love to see a diagram/pic of the OEM setup or anyones aftermarket job! Mark -
Heya all **BRAND NEW** GFB G-Force electronic boost controller. Specs on the GFB site: http://www.gfb.com.a...-by-for-g-force 6 boost memories. Open/closed loop. 50psi capable. Comes with trigger button for scramble/overboost. Digital boost gauge. Overboost warning etc etc RRP$350 The box was only opened to get pics; never fitted, played with or fondled. $250 6x RB26 standard coils from 32GTR (I've been told they're the same as 33GTR, 34GTR and 260RS). Used, but in fine working condition. They handled 290kw on 16psi, but I've turned up the wick past 20psi and didn't want to pay for another tune if spark broke up on the dyno with the standard coils so I went aftermarket. $80 Apexi Power FC with hand controller to suit 32GTR and 33GTR. Instruction manual included. Within 3yrs old, so it has current firmware. Tuned to 290kw with 16psi on -7s, 550cc injectors and drives great. Works fine, but I've upgraded to a Haltech Platinum Pro. $800 All parts are located in Western Sydney, happy to transport locally or send anywhere. Thanks for looking! Mark

Vq35hr Conversion
GOD12A replied to T04GTR's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Heya T04, I've helped a mate adapt a VH45 into a 33GTR utilising the std 4WD system with a 300ZX clutch/flywheel and a few other custom bits. The project wasn't completed due to other priorities (we were finishing off the gearbox>engine cast adapter plate), but we think we had it nutted out. We don't know of any other 4WD VH45s around Maybe we'll catch up some time for a chat? Mark -

Heya all Big thanks to the SAU crew for their efforts once again! Much better than the last one IMO. Hanging for times to get posted, I'm keen to see how the bucket and I went! If anyone has any good pics of GOD12A, gunmetal 32GTR on 34 wheels, I'd love to see them as my co-pilot forgot his camera What's the go with the DVD too? $35 for a DVD full of SAU execs in vulnerable positions or do they get their gear off too?? Thanks for the pic PEZ!! Thanks again to everyone, it was a fun day indeed! Mark

Heya all I drove to Jenolan Caves yesterday for a caving trip and took the GTR out as I remember the roads being kinda fun. Well damn was I right!! Jenolan Caves Rd from the Great Western Highway is awesome. Very open, easy to drive at speed with relative safety and the roads aren't that bad at all (I run TEIN Super Streets on 18s) It's a big boring drive along the highway to get there, but for a nice day trip with the missus, I strongly suggest taking the 'fast car' out for a blat Also, Hawkesbury Rd at Yarramundi. My fave local hillclimb!! I've never had a car stick with me, even when I had the bridgeport RX3, and the GTR is even faster up there. Willing to accept any challengers Mark!!

Heya all I'm selling my track wheels. There are six AVS something-or-others (ADVAN Model 5 replicas) with Bridgestone Potenza RE55S rubber on them. Two wheels are brand new with brand new rubber. I mean they've never been fitted to a car! The other four have done (literally) a few days worth of hard driving. Two tyres are near the wear indicators, so not street legal, BUT being race specific tyres, you can wear them down to a bare slick with no problem on track. The other two have some meat on them before they touch the wear indicators, so they are streetable no worries. And as mentioned, the other two are brand new. The wheels are in good nick, as mentioned, they were bought new when the currently fitted tyres were fitted. No gutter marks, but there is some light marks from being stacked on top of each other etc A good clean up will remedy that, I'm too lazy as they were track wheels only. These are the SR2-spec tyres, more info below:http://www.bridgesto...port/RE55s.aspx Pickup from Blaxland NSW, 10min out from Penrith on the M4. $1500 Consider the tyres are ~$500ea ($612ea RRP) and two tyres are brand new on brand new rims. Add to that another full set of four tyres that have another two decent trackdays in them (E/Creek) or a few lighter days (Wakefield), that price doesn't seem so bad!! Mark

Heya Liz I threw on a mechanical oil pressure gauge today and will be 'testing' over the weekend to see if the oil pressure fluctuation on the standard gauge is factual. The car is thrashable (trust me on that, the local hillclimb a few nights back was off da hizzay!!), but with the oil pressure needle dancing around at times, it doesn't make me feel very comfortable. As for the blow-by, I'll just use a bigger catch can Next on the list is a baffled/gated sump and oil/air separator so the blow-by recirculates to the sump... Then just wait till it throws a rod or I find the money to build an engine!! Mark
