  1. its inversely effected. The colder it is, the more your turbo/engine likes it, however your tyres and the road (what you want to stick to) go off the colder it is. Tyres prefer hot sticky conditions. why god? why?
  2. they are very roadish specs. Around a track, you'd probably want another 0.5 - 1.5 degrees of neg camber on the front, and maybe another .5 on the rears. Caster is fairly good. Then again, all this depends on the track.
  3. $430 ea for Dunlop SP Sport MAXX's, 255/35/r18, to put things in perspective, the fronts (235/40/R18) will only be $315ea.
  4. i have 9.5in rims.. surely i can go wider - i don't think my wallet can tho...
  5. how anyone was surprised that a RWD 5.7L V8 was going to be a good drifting car is beyond me. You have enough responsive torque to light up the tyres whenever you feel like it. I do love top gear tho - apparently the political types in the UK are trying to ban it now tho
  6. inline steering can as well, however they don't "know" of SK - Marc does.
  7. Dropped my car in to Belconnen Discount Tyre Service this morning, and amongst other things whilst chatting with Mark (top bloke, really knows his shit) i saw my new 255/35/R18 Dunlop SP Sport MAXX's off the rims. WTF They are f**king huge. I mean, i used to look behind Boxsters and 911's and go, wow they are big tyres - f**k no move over. By Huge i mean they are comparable to my Forearm (i'm 6 foot 3). Also got him doing a wheel alignment and looking over the suspension to see whats there, if any of the bushes are shagged and grease it up. Top bloke - knows what he's on about, owns a Stagea, and will look after you.
  8. I'll let you know about rear traction tomorrow - well, after i've scrubbed em in Fronts will be waiting a bit - then again guys, i'm going from _worn_ hankook 104's... All its going to be is.. "I can launch at Xrpm now"
  9. I find (and i have a tuned PFC) that i depending on my right foot, i get anywhere from 300 - 360km out of 45L (what i invariably end up putting into the car, never get much lower) around Canberra (I do alot of km a week - 500 to 600 usually). On Highway being a good boy i get 500+ and well, being naughty the worst i've seen is 270. yes it was fun.
  10. WTF Winter... Tis Arduous/Scarletdeath/Ladyinred/Jelinda hi. Anywho, i xferred off that Lightbringer Rock. I'm on Khaz'Goroth now, with my 60 Warrior Arduous (i still have my 60 mage and rogue as well). Raiding Naxx now, AQ40 is done (C'thun is such a fun fight - any guild that skips it is only hurting themselves). Guild is called Eternity, we're not the top on the server, but we're in the process of restructuring to catch Time and these new upstarts ReBorn (who seems to go through members like i do tires....).
  11. piggyback/remap? i thought stock ecu's ran overly rich and - in general - like a dog on our fuel?
  12. If you want slingshot, try 3rd with a good double clutch to spool things up a bit - don't forget to hold on
  13. I have a set of work wheels. Whilst its not a Silver car, they are gold/dark gold in colour. Looks sweet imho.
  14. just how much stuff have you done to your car? Mine behaves quite happily (unless i'm thrashing it - then i can pick the difference, slightly) on any of the 98ron fuels, and probably Castrol Vortex as well. I can only see that being a problem if a) Your car is hyper sensitively tuned with a very highout put engine or b)You've never had it tuned at all...
  15. i booked myself in to have the boys have a look over the car on Wednesday. $15 for a check - which i'm pretty happy with.
  16. I can't think of a good reason why you wouldn't run a tailshaft loop anyway? seriously...
  17. You are required by law to have the container earthed whilst filling it. So no, you wouldn't fill them in your boot. Just buy/borrow 2x 20L Jerry Cans, fill them with BP Ultimate or Shell Optimax Extreme (didn't get enough hard runs with the PFC Handcontroller in to check knock to test the latter - altho the car was just as responsive and got slightly more out of a tank 20-30km on the OptiExtreme) at the servo, stick them in your boot - securely. Drive to Wakefield - flog the shit out of your car, fill her up, flog some more, fill her up then head home worrying about just how little tread is left on your tyres.
  18. in the boot of your car maybe?
  19. if you're serious on the track, you'll probably do most of a tank in 6-10 laps. Bring a couple of 20L Jerry's if i were you.
  20. JVC deck actually. that being said. the problem is intermittent. I can't put my finger on how to get it to make the noise. Example. Roughly about 23-24 on the volume will be enough to drown out all but 5000 - 7000 rpm of exhaust engine noise. When it is behaving, i will not hear the whine after about 4 (very quiet) - sometimes i can't hear it at 0. When its usually being annoying, i will hear it till about 14. When its absolutely f**ked i will hear it till 27 - 28. I have a Stinger GLI, should i get that earthed (the shell) as well? The system sounds awesome, its just that when its playing the whine - i just turn it off because it makes my head want to explode.
  21. my ability to use Whitepages.com.au has gone to shit. Anyone got the number and address for inline suspension?
  22. yeah. The Parkway has been eating some kind of blitz at the moment, it feels like there is a very strong police presence in Canberra atm - which is about time given all the thefts we're hearing about. i just hope i manage to get my rears changed over before i get pulled aside... They are shagged (should be done today).
  23. Sell your non-turbo to some p-plater, and buy a turbo. its cheaper easier better the end.
  24. Extreme is a 5% Blend of Ethanol. And According to Sydney Kid, same power as BP Ultimate, without the Knock. He's been running it for about 3 months now i think.
  25. Haven't got time. Tyres are really not healthy now, the car shouldn't be on the road with them - so i'm taking the SP Sport Maxx's. My friend with a BMW M3 thinks they are better than the Pirelli's he had on it, as well as the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's he'd tried.
