  1. but will it be done by then?
  2. awww thankyou.
  3. haha
  4. even the best alarm with the best install will only slow a pro down 15 minutes.
  5. Recommended BP Ultimate Shell Optimax Extreme. Passable Mobil Synergy 8000 Shell Optimax Most 98 Octane Fuels Expect shit performance, detonation and possible engine/fuel system damage Anything else.
  6. speaking of which. pics. the board is held in with 2 screws. Sub is removable.
  7. haha. I have to get Dunlop SP Sport Maxx's now. There is only 1 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-DS3 in the country in my size. ~$430 a tire in 255/35/R18 and $315 a tire in 235/40/R18. Getting a wheel alignment done as well, due to what looks to be massive inside scrubbing on the rears (inside looks almost bald, outside has a good healthy amount of tread).
  8. I'm happy with mine. You couldn't pick it up with a tow truck or forklift without it going off, but rain/water/loud doof doof doesn't set it off.
  9. i am sadface. i didn't get no newbie thread welcoming...
  10. So long as you were going to pass the Noise test - you were fine anyway. Friendly attitude and well dressed goes along way as well. As far as i'm going, more dramas. Whilst the Tint, Oil Leak ($260 oil pressure sender - wtf nissan) and Rims are now fine, the certificate mentions a Remote Boost Controller (which it has). Dickson are now jumping up and down about the certificate being incomplete. I gave John Wilson a call, and he's looking into it for me. Not to mention i need rear tyres, badly. Massive wear on the inside of the rear tyres - and i haven't been doing burnouts (roughly ~3500km km since they last looked at them though..) or the like. Probably needs the rear end aligned.
  11. Yahuh - they check the engine number vs the VIN/VID/Compliance plate. If it doesn't match, they will ask questions/go further. Give John Wilson a call at AKZ Engineering. Only took 3 days from inspection to certificate (i could have had it the next day, but i got it mailed.). Get him to go over the whole car whilst he's at it, and write you up for everything else.
  12. ^^ to not hear a sound suggests something fishy. Check your Alarms guys - a simple kick on the tyres should set it off.
  13. I'm pretty much decided on the good year Eagle F1 GS-DS3's. I have a reasonable price on them, and tbh, the Hankooks just feel to me to be a cheap tyre. I see them on some cars they pull some nice numbers, but others below average. I'm also a believer of you getting what you pay for. So I'll give them a whirl, and get back to you all.
  14. Saw a R33 GTR Silver with Black bonnet headed out of Belconnen (Coulter Rd i think), had a nice note to it. I want a GTR, they look so horny.
  15. I bring my Truck and Forklift. I pick your car up, put it on my truck and drive my truck away. The End.
  16. i have good quality cable, good quality rca's. Ground Loop Isolator does a little. But its intermittent. Its a good install, but as Chris said above R33's are a pain in the ass.
  17. Another Tyre to throw in the mix. GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3 I rang another Tyre dealer, he also recommended the Dunlop Sport MAXX's and the Toyo T1R's. However he said probably the best choice is the GoodYear F1 GSD3's, and what he would probably run on his stagea. ~$438 a tyre, however the Toyo T1R's were ~$500 a pop, and he said that was straight retail and we could probably work something out.
  18. And open up the world of problems that is getting the alternator whine out of your r33.
  19. I didn't expect real traction control - and no i don't have traction "problems". One of the features i'd noted in the handful of documentation i read on the web was that it could adjust the boost limit based on speed. I want to know what i can get out of it - and whether its worth paying someone who DOES know to make sure its tuned and sorted properly. There was no manual supplied with the car for it, or the PFC (which i have no intension of touching, it was tuned by ICE in Melbourne who apparently have a good rep.).
  20. Just putting tint on was $275. Like i said - i had tint removed at the same time - properly (all the glue etc came off), to remove the existing tint was $145.
  21. daily bump
  22. I had the tint removed as well at the same time. Apparently it was "premium 35% tint" so says the invoice here anyway - it was a good job, just slightly expensive - but time was of the essence (most places had a 3 or 4 week waiting period).
  23. fronts are 8.5 rears are 9.5
  24. the most accurate way to measure your speedo differential is to actually do the math. RPM through gears into the diff with the Tyre/Wheel radius. the ADR's allow for a 10% error in the Speedometer accuracy - ADR18 although the police do not seem to recognise this - specifically in victoria (3km/h over can and will get you a ticket..)
  25. I too am interested in this. The guy who installed my system is asking for a day to try and get the noise out of it (free of charge - warranty) - and i simply cannot afford a whole day without my car at the moment (bloody work...).
