  1. i was out by calwell shops around 4 - sure it wasn't me? There was a Black R33 GTST with shiny chrome mags there. I could repeat the number plate - but its considered a nono.
  2. being that i called nissan about 2-3 weeks ago, and they quoted me $600 for a stock nissan clutch and that 1 of the 3 parts was in japan - i'd just go an exedy hd organic clutch. Same price and well it will handle more than the nissan job. got mine fitted at Belconnen Discount Tyres. 2.5 hours labour.
  3. oh yes!
  4. mind recording the exhaust for me? just curious at idle and full bore levels. I'm thinking i might go an apexi exhaust/dump, not sure tho.
  5. Problems all solved yesterday, thanks to the guys at Autotech. Would have gone to ESP on Jayce's recommendations, but he didn't give me the number! Its all better though - i missed her.
  6. I must be missing something here. I don't see a single dyno sheet. Surely there must be one that you forgot to attach, i mean you said want proof after all. I'm not bashing either way, but i see each has their pro's and cons. However if you're after mild power, i simply cannot see ANY reason to go anything other than a hi-flow. 1. Completely refurbished Turbo. 2. Continued use of a well-proven design. 3. Dozens of happy customers here on the forum, with Dyno sheets to prove results. 4. Stock appearance - particularly with our boys in blue becoming increasingly better at picking mods this is huge. 5. No change to existing gear, simply bolt it back on to where you pulled it off, no manifolds or mounts to be sourced. Unless you want to sail over 280-300rwkw (assuming RB25/26), i simply cannot see a reason why you'd go for an Apexi, Garret or anything else.
  7. Huge thankyou to the Guys at Autotech in Fyshwick! They didn't do much (flipped some hoses around) but its sooo goddamned nice to have my baby behaving like she should again!
  8. Its Canberra. Ignore the f**king ADR's. They don't care, and it will cause you no end of grief trying to get them past. Just go and see an engineer, get it on paper and then shove it in their face. I hate that goddamned scotman.
  9. in the end, i've gone for the exedy HD organic clutch. Mostly because i simply couldn't afford the time off the road for my car. This does mean that come winter when i upgrade the turbo and whatnot, i will probably need to pickup a jim berry special. Which i'm fine with. I'm driving it in atm, with roughly 500 odd km to go before a readjustment is done.
  10. hmm. nice. I might get mine spruced up. Lovely colour that it is
  11. why oh why would you want to browse porn at work? i mean, stuffing around on youtube to pass time is one thing, but gettin your rocks off is another.
  12. My mate saw them at BDO melbourne and at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Apparently BDO blew goats, you could hardly hear maynard at all. Not to mention it was a Festival, and that is of course a dirty dirty place of worship. December, maybe November *dances*
  13. i drove an Aurion about 1500km in the last 2 days. TOOL in melbourne rocked sooo hard.
  14. As my clutch doesn't exist right now, i'm in search of a replacement. And i need some opinions. I don't drag race, and am more of a highway/twisty road road driver than a hard launcher (altho i tend to punch it for overtakes) - that being said i have quite wide rubber under the bum (265/35/R18). Currently making 194rwkw, but looking to do the GCG Hi-flow route in winder so aiming for ~270rwkw. I'm curious as i can pick up an exedy from the business section in the forums reasonably cheap ($360 apparently) but is it worth it to go and get a Jim Berry Clutch? I don't really want to have to change my clutch again for the next 40,000 km if i can get away with it. The Exedy kit says it will handle 300 rwkw, but does anyone have any reasonable experience with both the models? also the G/F drives the car as well, so if the Exedy (or berry for that matter) is overly heavy, it will pretty much rule it out. Advice, comments and experiences would be much appreciated - thanks guys
  15. hhaha, dead clutch. its in at the shop again thanks for the offer widebody
  16. i'm too old for tazo's Basketball cards i remember, and football cards. John Stockton was a grandpa when we started collecting tho. Seriously the guy has to be about 65+ now.
  17. So on the way to work this morning, i went via the monaro. Some REALLY wierd shit is happening now. I have a distinct suspicion the AVCR has forgotten its settings. Sitting in 4th at 100km/h off boost, plant your foot it rockets to 7k rpm, then falters back to 5.5k rpm and goes forward as you'd expect it to. Its almost as if the clutch was held in (maybe i need a new clutch, but that would be a coincidence as well.) Boost still wouldn't budge above 0.65. Any chance it could be this stupid hot weather we've been having? not to mention its a nice chilly temp this morning?
  18. A picture speaks a thousand words... SO here be a picture of the apexi solenoid. These aren't around the wrong way are they? here's the other angle Now the other (original?) solenoid that has the blocked off pipe, wtf? the other one goes to this other pipe which i suppose is internally venting something somewhere. Finally an overhead shot hopefully showing everything. I'll take my camera to work, so if you need any more pictures let me know. Thanks once again guys, and remember if we can't fix it via a forum, i'll put a carton of your choice in your pocket if i can come around and have someone show me whats wrong. Cheers,
  19. 3 headstubs and manifold gasket all gone, required a head doctor. Will look at that spot in a few. Thanks heaps mate.
  20. Glen was on the phone, he's out of town till monday. What i've got is 2 hoses out of the Apexi Solenoid going to their proper places (so i'm told - which is why i'd like to check), can't remember anything else coming out of them. However i do have the standard solenoid there, but the hose out of it is blocked off with a screw. i'll try and take pictures tonight and show. The AVCR is reading boost (as well as the standard boost gauge) it just slams at 0.55 kg/mm rather than heading all the way up to 0.8 like the controller is set to allow it to. I have SOME boost, just nowhere near what i should and what its set to. What will the wastegate do on its own?
  21. Silver R33 GTR last night at the Indian place in Phillip i was eating at last night. Do GTR's always look high? he parked in front of my GTST and well, mine looked a ton lower.
  22. no rattles or anything that would suggest it. Not to mention the fact it would have to be hideously coincidental.
  23. Hi guys, Almost at my wits end trying to rectify my boost problems now. What i need is someone who has installed a AVCR boost controller (or similar - i have instructions now - woohoo!) and a few hours of thier time over the weekend. I'll shout a carton of their choice for the favour. Basically for those who don't know, my car had an exhaust leak in december, i had that rectified by the awesome guys down at Belconnen Discount Tyre Service (Marc2 and co), however since i've had it back, its suffering a severe lack of boost problem. Mechanically its fine - purr's like a kitten, no misfires, clean airfilter etc etc etc. I have a feeling that something to do with the AVCR isn't hooked up properly. Jayce put me onto Glen at ESP however he can't get to look at the thing till after monday. Glen mentioned that the most common thing that goes on is that people don't hook up the Comm point on the Apexi solenoid to the Turbo's Actuator. I'm going to be honest here and say, i have nfi where the actuator is Failing that if someone could go through the install with me to check its all where it should be, and hopefully all the problems go away. So yeah, if anyone can help me, throw a reply here and i'll pm you my mobile number Thanks in advance guys.
  24. i was accused of using a shadey engineer to get all my bits engineered. the jury is still out whether or not he's shady, but its registered!
  25. *gasp* i'm being stalked. people at work are asking about my car, people on the forums are seeing it, should i be scared or should i start signing autographs! Didn't see you thou I have to hit comcar somewhat frequently - backups you see.
