  3. It came with the motor I bought and I believe the seller of the motor had a friend who worked at ford unfortunately I dont have time or money to buy another turbo and sell this one off
  4. ok just got off the phone from MTQ re housings You can fit up any of the normal Gated/non-gates housings to the XR6 3540 He recommended for up to 450hp keep the internal over that go external also thinks the 1.06 will go really well on a 3L bottom end Apparently the housings are $980 from ford so i should sell mine on the ford XR6 forums as it is brand new, he quoted $570 for a new 1.06 external housing
  5. Fair enough, I had done a fair bit of research and decided on the 1.06 from what i could tell Im going to aim for between 350-380kw

  7. Its going in a RIPS RB30DET so it should spool ok (i hope) Is it as simple as buying a 1.06 hosing from GCG for a normal Garrett 3540 my worry is that the XR6 version is slightly different

Just want so information on the best way to remove the internal gate setup I have a brand new XR6 3540 I have gone highmount with external gate, is there a way to do it without welding the internal gate flap? If possible I dont really want to butcher it in case I come to sell it in the future. Cheers, Dan

  13. Just after a definitive answer if it is possible to do a sump change with the motor still in the car? Some guidance in this matter greatly appreciated At this stage I think I will get my workshop to do it, any ideas on approx workshop hrs?

Its all in the tune, and how well you treat it, I dont see why it wouldnt hold that power comfortably as long as everything else is up to speed to support the power level Mightnt be a bad idea to wind down the boost a little and make sure the tune is really good before ou thrash it around too much

  18. go GT3540 i dont reckon they are "that" laggy on a 25 and will pack a huge punch especially now you got the built motor to back it up with did you build the neo or go to an R33 Rb25?

  22. 300-400hp and your going forgies possibly 26 head and a GT35 or even GT40? IMHO your spending a hell of a lot of money for no real benifit, a basic RB30DET will net you those power figures safely with a decent tune and GT3076 If your going GT35 your looking at starting at 400hp and even then its not really working too hard GT40 would be a complete waste of time

I have just pulled my JJR Coil packs out for a spark plug change (1st one since putting them in) and the rubber tips were stuck to a plugs so badly that they have nearly all broken in getting them off? anyone have any idea what the hell happened? I guess i will just have to use the rubber things off my old coil packs which are in perfect condition
  24. my complete lack of knowledge on them dosent help... im gonna say 911 it had the round headlights and the low whale tale on the back, it looked a bit dated inside and it had no badges or anything... i was going to take a pic on my phone but i left it back at the office!
