I have just purchased a tial 38mm wastegate to use in my setup. I currently have a brand new XR6 Turbo (GT3540IW - Housing: .5 front 1.06 rear) this will be sitting on a high mount manifold I was origonally going to block the external gate pipe of on the manifold and just run internal but as I got an awesome deal on the external gate I will run that up now. Should I block off the internal gate completely? Is it possible to run the two in conjunction with each other - I have heard some whispers about this a while back. If i am best to block the internal what's the best way to go it without butchering the turbo as I may want to sell it down the track. I was thinking just capping it off by not running the split dump back into the exhaust / sticking a plate over the flange.

First off we have a thread just for the RB30DET Conversion there has been like 10 threads started in the past week in FI asking questions that are probably already covered in the RB30DET thread and if you want to ask more about them you will probably get better responses there anyway! If you want to run without VCT then you should be looking into getting an R32 RB25DE head as they are so easy to do the conversion with especially into the 32. I think the coil setup is the same and a Z32 will be more than sufficient for a "basic" tune Cheers, Dan

Sheldon is long gone from Murnane, I would no longer recommend them at all from bad personal experience, the mechanic down there Ben is a good bloke and knows how to swing a spanner but the new owner leaves much to be desired. A friend of mine is going to get his link tuned this week by Matt Spry will let you know how it goes.

i would agree, and be surprised if there is not at least one or two broken ones anyway - I had 3 snapped studs and managed to snap 2 more in replacing them all, WD40 and Bandaids are your friend. GTST's post hits the nail on the head!
