Well, most of the posts I have read on this thread are the biggest load of shit I have seen.
Theres so many points I want to cover, its hard to know where to begin.
OK, so drift was originated in Japan, so they kick arse at it. V8 supercars was a predominately aussie thing years ago back in the production car days, and we kick arse at that, yet the rest of the world is catching up. Thats fine, everything has to start somewhere and the rest of the world can then challenge themselves to catch up.
Yes, there are plenty of wankers who jump on the bandwagon and claim to be drifters, but everyone has to start somewhere dont they? Of course, I'd personally prefer they started on the track but how many people get their first taste of a motorsport on the track? Like I'm sure most rally driving pro's started off in back paddocks or dirt roads out the back of bourke. Same as most people who got in 1/4 mile started out as traffic light hero's.
Why slag off clubs like Initial Drift or Full Lock (note, I am an official with QLD's premier drift club, DriftZone, so I might be biased) when all we are trying to do is nurture and promote a new (to Australia) form of motorsport that is cheap and relatively easy to get into? Oh, and we're trying our best to stop people smashing letterboxes and get them out to the track.
I am just sick of drift bashing for the sake of something to do. Get a life, or get out and try it.
