I'd book in for a run in a super cart marty but based on my performance last time i think i'd kill myself... but at least i'd die with a smile on my face

  4. Hi all, I installed my own mechanical center over a year ago and it has shitted me ever since with whining and backlash. Seeing as the car is now permanently off the road and i have a waiting nugget requiring a transplant i figure i should get it done properly. so who's had one done, by whom, and what am i looking at price wise? I don't have a heap of time with work atm and i am based south of campbelltown for work so trips much further north than liverpool are a bit of a stretch, maybe as far as homebush if i can slip it in on a visit to the office. thanks, Dave
  5. gear box cross member was found to be bent. Now separating the box, tailshaft and modded speedo drive rb25det box $1350 1 piece custom Hardy Spicer tailshaft $350 gtr speedo drive with r33 gear $50 I also have a brand new navara speedo drive i think it still has the original gear on it $50 as well.
  6. You're right, this is the stupidist shit ever. You don't actually want a boost leak, you want an exhaust leak pre turbo to stop it spooling. Or you want a hole between the afm and the turbo inlet so it thinks it's getting less air. I have a trust type R bov with optional massive trumpet for sale atm too Those are my 3 dodgy solutions in line with the thread so far. The mods you have so far will put you well into the rich and retarded range of mapping on the stock ecu. The safc will probably fix the problem if you don't intend to modify any further. You may also have misfiring issues associated with either old plugs, incorrectly gapped plugs or shagged coils. The sudden lack of power and clouds of black smoke out the back point towards this (that is, you're dumping a heap of unburned fuel out the exhaust because it isn't firing) As the car drives fine on cruise and you have replaced the sensors i'd say your economy issues may be a result ot the way you drive. Your issue is not unlike a lot of other peoples on the forum, It's just that the existing exhaust leak was effectively masking it and keeping you below the R&R threshold. You've fixed that problem and introduced the regular old problems
  7. i never had an issue with the stock air box in my 32. I modded it with a 4 inch CAI. My combo hasn't held steady boost ever. original 1 bar actuator, then enlarged wastegate and 16psi actuator. Then i put the car into a wall before going ex gate so the turbo is sitting on the garage floor atm... Anyone want a garrett .63 IW housing with 38mm wastegate flap???

  9. engine and box are now out of the car. Passenger side caster rod was found to have a slight bend as seen in the attached photo so price is reduced to $75. It's probably still usable, the threads are fine, ball joints fine so if anyone wants to have a punt, $75 firm or i keep em for bits. Also pics of some of the other bits i am getting questions about.

Oil cooler sold GTSt indicators sold I am removing the engine tomorrow, i started and videoed the engine today prior to removal so if anyone is interested in the engine i can get a copy of the vid over. The car ran for about a minute before being shut off and idled surprisingly well considering the hole in the intercooler end tank which we found later. I also carried out a compression test about 5 minutes after taking the video 1) 150psi 2) 152psi 3) 151psi 4) 150psi 5) 150psi 6) 150psi I was pretty surprised by the results as i have never tested an engine with such consistent compression. So splitfires and injectors are now available
  11. Hi mate, I have a panel glued to the back of the surround with gauges mounted and will have to see if i can remove it without damage.

  14. I assume you have a .63 housing? I also fitted the 38mm flapper which didn't completely fix the creep issue (though it did stabilize at 1.4 afterwards) and introduced a new issue of back pressure blowing open the flap above 5k and so not being able to hold more than 1bar. You have the same issues that i did before modding the IW. I had decided to go a 44mm external gate.

  16. Not if it's wired properly. The wiper section needs to be stripped from the 32 loom and retained, the ac idle step up needs a relay added but the AC itself just needs the trigger wire run from the dash plug to the main power plug in the engine bay.

  18. delivered to where? Sorry mate, i bought it second hand so don't have a part number. I'm pretty certain it was an sr kit anyway as it has the small block adapter. I'd have to check with my mate that i got it off as he may know. I have some interest in the oil cooler already. If that falls though you'll be next in line. cheers Dave pm sent HuH
  19. The stock arms are up to the task. If you've re bushed everything then no need to change unless you don't have the range of adjustment there. The stock tie rods are the only things that i have seen bend. A mate bent 2 in 2 weeks out at driftland back in the early days from clipping ripple strips.
  20. The rose joints were good last time i had them off the car which was about 2000km ago. I'd have to get them off to confirm but i think they are fine.

    hi mate, what car is it going into? I have a box, custom 1 piece tailshaft, modified cross member and gtr speedo drive to suit a 32gtst currently for sale in sydney. It'd probably be a bit pricey to ship it all but if i can help with the other bits let me know.
