  1. BB for a unit ya never miss a trick do you! Yer its got a full weld in now, had to, this series has been taken over by the ASN of the FIA. And hasnt it made a difference finally letting your good old circuit masters do their finest, hadly even feel the curbs mate and the old car when it is running, is as quick as anything else out there now. Have dropped from a 1.12 second lap to a 1.08 but i guess 540 hp help with that too :-) Anyway car did a 1.10.8 in the warm up laps (4 ) i was doing for the Dunlop engineers ( we get full support from Dunlop this year fitting, temp, pressure checks etc Yea ) come in for the guys to check temps accross the tyre and she is only running on 5. Still was the 4 fastest time of the day. So the old girl has some potenial it would seem just need to keep it on the track, had not missed a beat for months either sniffffffff. Anyway engine has been pulled head off and surprise its not that bad, piston has hit the valve but for the life of me cant work out how the valve dropped. The sim had been dislodged but that could have been after the contact with the piston apart from that didnt find any thing else apart from a bent valve as you would expect. Timing belt was correct, collets still in place no other valves touched any piston. Only thing we can think of is a bad valve spring or valve bounce even though i didnt get near the rev limiter, though they were all tested before being instaled. So now need to find a set of springs, type A good for 8500 rpm in a real hurry engine has to be back together for next week, and its tough to locate parts for this car here. Any suggestions on who to contact would be appriciated
  2. LOL yes Neil they are 240 volt :-)
  3. Latest pic from free practice round one of the 08/09 UAE touring car championship. grr dropped a valve shortly after :-)
  4. they are and i have used a ds 3000 compound which was hard to get in the 52mm radial depth, still didnt notice much difference to the track pads from just jap. i will continue to use the green track pads as they work well and seem to last.
  5. is the plumb back bOV working i had an issue with the turbos creating shuffle even at an idle the air was being read by the AFM 3 times which was sending the idle all over the place. If its not then your excess air is more than likely heading back out your AFMs we also had an issue with a valve shim that was incorrectly ground to suit cam, seems it was not perfectly flat and after the valves settled in it would be unseated some of the time causing a miss, not sure this is your problem but if you have had head work then worth checking.
  6. have to roll guards, 37mm off set not sure about camber which would depend on the low the car is riding.
  7. i have dropped a set into my engine with the -5's and they were no better until we put the ported head on. We did see an improvement then but only over 20psi boost. Not to mention quite a long time dialing them in last time on the dyno, lots of work for very little gain over stock. Does sound much better idling though if thats you thing. ended up with 500hp at the crank with a full forged bottom end
  8. i posted a while ago about this and some cut away pics of what not to do as i stuffed a good head going to far. I will see if i can find it again. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...p;hl=rb+26+head
  9. awww pitty your not in Dubai we flock engines, gearboxes, diffs, other drivers but most of all we do indeed flock dashs had the kit for a few months now.
  10. have a full set for sale if required :-)
  11. yes you can season has just started and there are 2 different championships
  12. We have the new LMR8 radical running around over here and this bloody thing is lapping better times than the GP2 boys did. Unbelieveably quick!
  13. sounds like turbo shuffle
  14. Yer mate sounds like this would be the kart for you. little pic of the Biland world tile i raced in Dubai back in dec 2006
  15. BB your a unit for sure :-) i have a Trulli kart ( made by swiss hutless ) with 4 wheel brakes and a biland engine 2 cylinder 4 stroke should suit a big unit! failing that we have a 63 hp wankle kart engine that is sure to get your palms sweaty and a fair old clenching of butt cheeks happening! You have never accelerated until you get in this thing it is truely frighting, even compared to a super kart which is a lot of gear changing this thing just keep pushing and pushing
  16. i have removed it and installed a remote filter as well
  17. sounds as if its a fraction to tight mine did the same thing until i let a little tension off.
  18. as long as your fuel return is plumbing into the surge tank should be ok
  19. yep i reckon so, looks a quality job too
  20. whats your fuel pressure?
  21. Surge tank may be the better option i had fuel surge with a 35 litre tank. Also maybe the only way you will connect 2 044 pumps into the system as each should have its own - 6an supply, would be quite difficult to run them with only one low pressure outlet between them
  22. About the only thing that the 2860-5 dont fit up to is the lube oil drain you need to slot one of the hole to suit the spacing on the bottom of the turbo. Everything else fits nice. Also you can if you wish port the stock exhaust manifold to suit the larger opening on the garrett although some guys say this is not required i thought i would do it anyway. I agree with nismoid i dont see the need to spend more on a HKS set, mine work a treat, make more hp than i can use thats for sure.
  23. mate its no big deal to remove it you just have to adapt one vacum point to run the brake and clutch boosters not hard to do. You also need to run a new coolant hose from the connections at the front and rear of the block. As far as the shaft goes well i got the wrong one sent the first time which was Vivids fault they then just said they supplier wasnt interested in making a single item for the R32, so i dont know. But the quality was good that i can say just a little strange how they just insert the metal tube into the carbon section, not to easy to see how its bonded but i am sure it would have worked. It was a bit heavier than i thought it would be as my business partner has a carbon shaft for his ball bursting evo and its a full carbon shaft and super light so i was sort of expecting that. Still every thing is super light in the bloody evo, they mocked the car up a few weeks ago after the build and before painting and the #%^&ing thing was 907kg with very little more to add this car is going to be just over 1000kgs when finished which it going to be hard for a 1300 kgs skyline to match grrrr bloody evo's
  24. nope Andrew vivid just gave up and gave me my money back after some 5 weeks of waiting.......you have yours yet? yer it can be removed but you have to get inventive for vacum connections thats the only issue i have had. It idles fine but it can stall coming down from a around 3k free rev to a 1100 idle other than that with the o2 sensors off it idles fine and a whole bunch less connections on that side of engine i can even see the block now :-)
