  2. Cant say that i have ever felt mine kick in, grabbed the odd front tyre every now and again but never felt the pulsing i would associate with ABS activating. maybe a problem with it?
  3. Duncan, how correct you are! if pretty were the only thing allowed in a race car then the beer baron wouldnt be allowed near one
  4. i was close LOL
  5. LOL i reved mine to over 11,000 and broke, bent remodeled everything internal. Stick to the 7000 ish and you should be ok
  6. got half of it and its about 6 kg :-) made a drip tray out of it
  7. going to slap a new one in and use the old one in the spare engine we will cobble together from the reems of bits left over
  8. at a guess i would say a bare gtr fuel tank is 12 to 14 kg.
  9. hmm it just broke a ring land on number 5. I think that it is bent on the front where the oil pump drive is although i never felt any vibration and if the piston hadnt failed it would still be running around. Very strange
  10. very personal question there Russ! oohh BLOCK :-) i had another of those laying around Squeeky Steves shop.... just waiting for him to call and tell me its warped or the flux harmonic capacitor has .3 degrees run out or such, that would make his day i can hear him gigglin now. Get the feeling he dont like my fleet of RB26DETT's to much in fact he has renamed them FURKIN26DETT's i think i am just gettin closer to his pet EVO even had to use the excuse my tyres are 04's your are 08's so in the market for a new R33 crank i guess
  11. just put my R32 crank into shop to have the oil pump drive collar fitted to tell me the crank is bent? How do you bend a crank shaft, was running fine all bearings are fine and bearing surfaces are good too. it did lunch # 5 piston hence the reason its out but was running fine until it failed. Cant complain about the piston failure engine had ove 100 k on it and we were sort of pushing it a wee bit.
  12. yer it is good guess
  13. some thing like this one
  14. yer the clearences are very time consuming to get right i am told, i am sure they will locate the problem when they start looking into it. My self i am not looking forward to the new cams and valve grind currently being carried out, as clearences are going to be all over the place.
  15. LOL i got my own mashed up bits i am still trying to work out what happened maybe we could compare. But sure looks like you have had parts of turbo go through engine
  16. Hmmm Chuckie, does your mate want to sell it LOL! Just in case you didnt know this is a 964 turbo S model only 80 or 82 made Some debate over the figure. This is one of the rarest porsche made! Please check and let me know what color the intercooler is, would be cool to know there is one in OZ Comes with a modified 3.2 litre 380 hp turbo engine not the 3.6 as in mine but more than made up for by the car weight being much lower. and a link to check it out on http://www.rennlist.com/ And just in case if it is a real one then there is only one other for sale in the world i can track down for a cool 261,000 aussie dollars
  17. 18. Giday Russ! Awwww bugger that mate how about i send you a link :-) short story is we are a large generator hire company www.aggreko.com and Squeeky is none to please about a porsche or should i say porsche repairs looming in the near future
  19. Well ok its finally here and registered for road use! Its quite different to drive a 3.6 litre single turbo engine, the torque is unbelieveable, not mention the sound the old girl makes basically has a screamer pipe from the waste gate all of 15 inches long. It fairly howls! Going to do a dyno run in near future to see what its producing they are around 360hp standard but this one has hi flowed kkk 28 turbo and some mean cams should end up around 400 ish i would think at one bar. will take a clip and post it for those interested in old porsches
  20. if it was a oil related problem how would the leading edge of the blades get knocked around like that.
  21. mate get the correct off set and size wheel or it tends to look like poo. my mate just did his evo 80mm front and back and it looked like poo until he got the coorect wheels. utter monster now though as i am sure yours will be
  22. If you use a -10an size hose and fittings as a minimum then you will not have any restrictions in the oil system. I have removed the standard water to oil cooler mounted on the engine block and mounted a remote filter system in its place. And from what i can see the filter itself was the restrictive part in the whole stock system. The coupling that the factory oil / water cooler connects to on the engine block has the same id as a -10an fitting. Also recommend that you go for a kit that has the reusable hose fittings, so much neater if you can cut the hose to the perfect length. Not sure about the oil coolers them selves but if they are -10an fittings shouldnt be much of an issue for restriction. Leaks and quality i cant say as i modded an M3 cooler to fit accross the front of my car. You could alway pressure test them before fitting for peace of mind.
  23. ok Richard no idea either quite strange why they would go to melbourne first? anyway will measure up the bolt tonight i hope have to run the porsche out to the warehouse anyway so will get it then. regards
  24. Richard i will take a look tonight i hope and get back to you
