  7. race pads will make all the difference.
  8. questionable quality I have been flogging these brakes to within a inch of their life for the last 12 months on full slicks and still going strong. Raced a porsche GT2 last week and he just got me by .15 sec after a 20 minute race Bugga But your correct the standard brakes are more than enough for street use. Some new DBA ( my choice ) rotors and some good pads, even a rebuild kit for the calipers and you will be sweet
  9. Had 2 runs with JJR front castor rods ( touch wood ) with full slicks and one with re55s ( and not hadling to well ) but seem to be ok. The welds looked ok on the units i got but lets see. Guess that i used cheap chinese crappy brakes so castor rods are the least of my problems LOL
  10. love those wheel every time i see them
  11. Ok have a operating temp of 60 degree for the RE 55s hard compound which is the compound used/developed for the very sandy conditions we have here. pressure will depend on the day i would guess but we are in the low 30's here at the moment so not so far removed from sunny QLD i will keep you in the loop.
  12. i asked for neg 5 when it was done last. Car is going back for another alinement next week which i will watch it being done. I have also been speaking to Bridgstone here and the motorsport guys are going to come back to me with some setting that should work for a heavier car. Lucky as these guys are a sponsor of the track where we race and had done a lot of development in the compound for this tyre. :-) Also were none to please to hear the pilot cup sport was faster
  13. check out just jap G4 which are the same and yes i got them and i like them
  14. Nice car by the way Richard
  15. mate sent you a PM on the shocks
  16. The GTR skyline world is not a happy place for a guy with an electrical background
  17. Nice punt there BB And i would try to lift the front but the coilovers i have are not adjustable hence was i thought a pair of height adjustable HR for 150$ would be a good test of raising the height of the car. Car is going back in to get another alinement so i will check. Was going to try the following settings FRONT 1mm toe out neg 5 Deg camber 8 Deg positive castor Ride height 355mm REAR 0 toe 3 deg neg camber ride height 345mm
  18. And that in english please :-)^
  19. forget him LOL i dont think so thats all i could see out back and side of the car for most of the race. But i can go faster and have done with the slick tyres. But come to the point where the slicks were covering up the problem i now face. I have found out today the ohlin shocks on the car are not much more than OME and quite a soft spring rate for such a smooth track. I am not under any kind of false impressions that i can make it hugely better, but i dont need much of an improvement to really give him a run for his money let me find 5 to 7 tenth a lap and i will make him honest at least. I have spent bugger all on the car in the grand scheme of car racing and i would like to see if i can improve the roll and hope that it equates into a reduced lap time. I can get a set of older tein HR for next to nothing and play with the springs until i can find some improvement, then invest in some better shocks with a more suitable spring rate. then again i might be all wrong as i have a habit of being so LOL
  20. for me here they are around 280$ a tyre.
  21. Would appear that 7.1kg/mm front and 6.6 kg/mm in rear is not enough. Now need to look at a spring / damper package to help correct this. I am sure that the upper arm was neg 5 as we did discuss the merit of the 2.5 verus the 5 with the supplier and yep i have just check the emails on it and they are neg 5 upper arms. May be the pics that are not showing this as that corner is a 16 degree banking.
  22. trouble is the bloody thing sneaked past me as i was happly understreering through the last corner LOL. My old car is quicker in a straightline but he can get me under brakes and through corners as i cant hit them as hard with semi's as i could with slicks which appear to be hiding the fact the car was not as well sorted as i thought it was. Gunna be gettin me some of them michlin pilot cup sports as well, same as the GT2 taking that part of the problem away.
  23. Seems that the heavier front springs and suitable dampers may be the first combo to try a few other have recomended that be the first area to try and improve. Track is F1 standard and is baby bum smooth
  24. ok then Mr cusco owes me my money back for the neg 5 upper control arms i purchased
