  1. good on the both of you
  2. Why outrageous Duncan is only 8 1/2 inches........think lol Nar mate had the ompa lompa's make me some more brake ducts to go along with the brake fans just thinking what would be best method of mounting and where. Just noted today they have removed about 40mm off the bottom of the gearbox to get it lower in the car, have spent a lot of time under this thing plumbing up the drive line cooling systems. Those little buggas make more noise than 50 044 bosch pumps. Trying to make a media day next thursday which will be 8 weeks after getting a container of bits. Ohh and the f34king drive shafts are still not here
  3. lastest pics
  4. Duncan when and if ever the 7000 euro drive shafts arrive i will let ya know
  5. got her running today weirdest engine you have ever heard sounds like a workshop full of harley's very very strange engine with repect to a 90 degree v10 wasted spark type deal. LOL tuner was pulling his hair out for a while but he did get it in the end.
  6. Risking, check out unitrax half shafts you might just be able to buy a 1000 hp set from a viper and adapt the flanges you are going to make. That way you can get the entire hub stub axle etc that fits all you need to do is make the adaptors to suit. Not expensive either.
  7. updated pics
  8. plenty mate plenty, just ask some of the porsche and aston martin drivers about lift off over steer
  9. feel free most do anyways
  10. maybe
  11. LOL work mighty fine on a EVO dog box :-)
  12. there would be a sneaky thread in the fab / project section with a few pics
  13. Yer thats were we are lucky mate and run at a track which is F1 rated, we have airconditioned pit garages with compressed air hoses all around us so we dont need to bring a compressor, just a hose to plug into the system and we are good to go. These jacks would be wrecked if we put any more than 120psi into them as they only use a nylon hose and the press in fittings rated to 10 bar. We have a tyre fitting service at the track who do the tyre changes temp checks etc etc so we really dont need to be bringing any more crap to the circuit if we dont need to, have a fiat van stack to the roof with crap as it is now LOL. Yer big old boots huh rims sizes are 14 inch rear and 12.5 fronts which i believe will run a 285 x 650 x 18 on front and lol 345 x 710 x 18 on rear. I ran a tape over the GTR width last night and bugger me if the viper is not almost 500mm wider from outside edges of front tyres and engine is.....wait for it 200mm lower than the GTR ( measured at top of both sumps ) even to the point where they have machined off about 20mm of the bottom of the gearbox mounting face to get it as low as possible. Yep should be a good deal quicker than the GTR BUT i am STILL a GTR man through and through!! i will run her at some point this season just as soon as i know there will be a wet race :-) They changed the rules on us mate this year to limit the KG/HP ratio to no less than 3kg / hp so to keep the old girl in the race i would have to turn the old lady down about 100 hp, although would help the reliability factor it was struggling to keep up with the front running car then and 100 less ponies would just kill her...unless its wet And we are never to talk about drive shafts again..........
  14. all in all i like the idea of these high spec cars coming to race here can only be a good thing for the local motor sport scene. When you consider that only 2 seasons ago me and my trusty R32 GTR rolled out for the first ever local saloon car race in the UAE, yep me and five others to what we have showing up 2 years later. It appears we fit in very nicely between the off season in europe and the TV coverage last year on skysports has help no end.
  15. its our hobbie shop :-)
  16. Ok some latest pics with refurbed wheels on. A pic of the Golf GTi we have just about finished building And last but not least the new workshop dawg who arrived a few days ago, he is a stray and it appears has adopted us....Spanna the workshop dog
  17. i have heard the same rumor myself
  18. and now a 2010 GT3 cup S has been entered, well one thing for sure there will be some nice cars on track........
  19. Anyway pressing on got the electrical system installed and tested this week, although Haltech are developing a new ECU for this car so a little unsure about what they require but shouldnt be to hard to work that in i think. Had a big win yesterday didnt have much info on the airjacks that came with the car so wasnt sure of the required working pressure. Took some measurements and did some calculations and they told the jacks would lift the car with about 70 psi give or take a few psi. Got me some 10 bar nylon tube with press in fitting and sure enough up she come with 70 psi, very cool i thought as we can do this off a very small compressor......very happy. Also had the dampers serviced in holland this week and they were in good condition so they will be back this week and so will the BBS wheels that went away for a clean up. New front body work is leaving the states on monday so it will be here late next week, then fitted and body work can go away for paint. Diff and gearbox coolers will i hope be plumbed up today and will start to mount the fuel pumps and control system. Still waiting on the 7000 euro driveshafts to arrive ggrrrrrrrr
  20. yer a few days in a good hotel sitting on beach then 3 days of racing, quick trip to oman, a day or 2 in fujari not a bad break
  21. well offical test and media day 1/10/09 first round 16/10/09 grand racing weekend 12/13/14/10/09
  22. Just buy a set of rotas i have been using them with slicks for 2 years and no issues at all.
  23. Nar mate still have the ghetto bumper bring it out on special occasions. And i am doing just about all the work on this bloody car too, now if i can just work out to carbon fibre stuff i am home free. but still BB if you have to be a bear then might as well be a grizzly i reckon, and it breaks ya nuts everytime you roll out to race seeing pure muppet rich boys watching the best of the best being hauled out of the air condition race transporter. Then proceed to hand your a$#e back to on a platter. Yes we do have a fairly expensive car to rebuild but as always i like a challenge but this time we are going to to it right or not at all. ps skyline should be available some mid next month for track time you coming over?
  24. sad fact is BB i could send it to you and back twice for the same price as a set of rear drive shafts LOL. Still i hope its all going to be worth it. and in fact we have decided to ditch the exige project as its far more complex than the viper and run the viper as our 24 hour car which it was designed for in the first place......just need to find another 5000 euro for the bladder tank... i might just send the bill to you if thats ok and pay you off with skyline rides :-)
  25. No that just unbolts if needed to get to engine, which by the way can be out in under 20 minutes. Risking sorry forgot to answer your build question its was made in france by orecca.
