  7. mate i have seen spark plugs that will either earth to the side of the thread or to the top of the piston when it reaches TDC doesnt do the top of the piston any good at all. Hope the damage is not to bad!

  9. No chance matie i use them and once they warm up they will out perform any road tyre used or not. Give it a shot though but i am willing to bet they stick like poo to a blanket.

  11. BB not possible to register the car in the UAE without converting to LHD. I have spoken with DOTARS and they dont know either! The person i spoke to said they would get back to me about 3 months ago, glad i wasnt holding my breath. My understanding is that i only need to prove i own it which i can do and that i use it which i can also prove as i have reciepts from over 12 months ago showing both entry into events, parts and repairs to the car during the 12 month period.
  12. Guys, a quick question about importing a car i have owned for over 12 months. The problem is that its a track car only and has not been registered at any time i owned it. I brought it as a very very second hand junker sitting in the sun for 3 years, i have the import papers for this car from the import yard i purchased it from in the UAE. Now my question is can this car be brought back to Australia as a personal import even though it is a track / race car. I have all the reciepts from the parts i have brought for this car and workshops that have done work on it during this time frame. I even have the reciepts for the times the car has been entered into events in the UAE. I have my local FIA national racing licence here in the UAE, would i need anything else to import the car back to Australia.

  15. i got nearly 30 Hp with cam gears well worth it if you can do them your self. Dothe cambelt and water pump at the same time if they have not been done already
  16. yes i would try a CAS if you can borrow one to test with. Then try a fuel pressure guage to know if you do have correct pressure. I have had a blocked return pipe and got huge pressure which resulted in loss of power, fouled plugs and then no starting
  17. If i am not wrong the fan blades should create a area of low pressure at the front of the fan blades and the back of the radiator. I not sure that a fan blade could deflect that much to make contact with the radiator core, i tried to bend mine and could not get much more than 25mm. I have gone to thermo fans now and a electric water pumps as i broke two N1 water pumps and put the fan into the radiator, with simular results to your radiator. Could the fan have picked up some stray piece of something and put that into the radiator. Stands to reason that if you have changed nothing and it doesnt do it every time and nothing is damaged with the fan that you can see it could be a bit of crap that has got between the two. How does the fanblade tips look ? Was very little damage to mine even after its second trip into the radiator You can fix those radiators by the way look for a produce called HTS 2000 its an aluminium solder and it works a treat, well did on mine.
  18. Mate just look at the basics fuel filter and put a fuel pressure guage on the inlet pipe and see if your fuel pressure reg is playing up should be 32 - 34 at idle and up to around 40 - 42 ish under boost.
  19. did you clean the discs before you installed them? You dont want any of the coating on the new disc to get onto your pads.
  20. Common thought that, but my understanding of viscous fans are that they stop drawing air at higher RPM when the natrual air flow from the car moving cools the radiator. I have also found unless you buy a very good thermo fan the stock fan is much better at low RPM like traveling in traffic. As mentioned above you may get a very small increase depending on the size of the thermo fan, as even if you do remove the stock viscous fan and replace it with a thermo fan your alternator has to work harder as it now has more load to cope with from the electric motor of the thermo fan.
