  1. Mate just buy one of these electric pumps i promise you they are cheaper than the N1 pumps and they bloody well work as i found out today. Not sure how long they last but i have been through 3 bloody water pumps in the last 4 months so it cant be any worse for me at least. That and a small thermo fan for trafic but i swaer as soon as i start to move the temp was dropping in seconds.
  2. nope no fan at all car is only for track use and its either moving or its not. Best part is i can leave the pump running while engine is off and it still cools down. i think a small thermo fan will be put in it was just that i was up until 3 this morning repairing the bloody N1 pump that broke.......second one now to let go. And i didnt have time to buy one to use, i cut the shaft out of the body repaired the dirty great crack and blanked the end off. So no shaft for a normal fan to bolt too. But i will vouch for these electric pumps they are great the temp difference of the car was unexplainable....the faster i went the better it cooled will take a pic and post it when the old camera charges. And i wont have to replace another pump as its a shit of a job and i am sick and tired of removing cam timing belts and re installing them.
  3. Yep i knew that would be mentioned but its just the angle of the pic. It about 300mm part but i think you are correct with the idea about ducting more air to it. It seems to work although can give any figures on whe temp difference there was.
  4. Ok some pics of the second set of pads used by the G4 calipers. Ran a new set of green track pads today and they were not good out of the box, but did get better and better as the day when on. seem to be better on the rotors than the ds 3000.
  5. nearly finished still have to run two more ducts back to the fronts but made a real difference to the rotor temps and brake pads. No more white edges on the pads any more. and then some better rear ones and thats it
  6. Latest update. Track Dubai auto drome GP circuit 5.39 kms Ambient temp 42 JJR R32 aluminium radiator thermostat removed coolant 50 /50 mix no fan no shroud electric water pump 110 litre/hour due to N1 pump busting in half ....again had to modify to make a donnor as the blanking plate for electric pump All other mods were the same as last time out. Big big improvement with the thermostat removed and electric pump installed highest temp was 92 degrees and ambient was 4 degrees hotter than last time out. These electric pumps are the business could not be more happier. Also ran a temp gauge in radiator outlet and seen about 11 degrees diff between inlet and outlet temps
  7. This little aluminium cooler did work but needs to be a bit larger i think.
  8. Birnie i mounted mine like this it worked today as it held the 1 bar perfectly all day.
  9. LOL i was talking about the hose from the standard boost controler with the restrictor in it ( has yellow band around it ) does that go to the waste gates or is it from the manifold.. Thanks for the pics mate they are a great help. regards
  10. I have some pics of the second set of pads i have gone through for every to have a look at the wear pattern but i can not post pics for some reason. Will get them up ASAP for every one to see. Make sure you get the green track pads as well if your going to put the car on the track. The grey street pads work fine but you will get through them very quickly using them on thrack
  11. one more quick question the hose with the restrictor in it goes to the waste gates i am guessing. And what happens if they are the wrong way round
  12. Birnie if you can post some pics that would be great!!! I am having problems in attaching pics at the moment
  13. no they , well the R32 gtr has hard piping under the car.
  14. dont you have to run both + and - wires to the pump as the - is the side controling the voltage through the ECU. Or am i wrong as usual :-)
  15. Does anyone have the weight of a standard 4 pot caliper and rotor, as i will weigh my 356mm G4 set to get a comparision. I have some pics of the second set of pads as i think Roy noted he would like to see the wear of these but cant post any pic for some reason. I also noted last night the the leading pistons in the G4 caliper is quite a bit larger than the 6 trailing ones. If anyone can tell me how to post pics now i will bang them up for all to see
  16. Troy followed your lead and mounted my fuel cooler at back near the fuel tank but for some reason cant post pics here at the minute
  17. would there be room under the rear of the car for it ?
  18. Bugga then 882 mmhg it is
  19. old age is catching up with me sadly i didnt see any mention about changing the mmhg to bar for boost reading but sounds like the controler is ok as it runs with set duty in a day or so.
  20. Cheers Paul, must have missed it as i reference your FAQ on all things apexi
  21. does anyone else feel that the Re55 is like running around on a tractor tyre? Dont get me wrong they give good grip its just that super wide groove make it almost like a cleted tyre :-) at slow speeds
  22. Guys, just a quick question to those who have installed these units. As the manual is in japanese i am not sure but i see diagrams of the boost control soliniod in series with the standard boost solinoid which does not seem right. Had advise to remove the standard and replace with the Apexi which seems simple enough. Yet to try it out but will do thursday i hope. One more point is it possible to change the reading on the commander from mmhg to bar as a readout. thanks.
  23. Good point i was thinking about having the bottom tank enlarged to hold more coolant, very easy to do have a friend who makes aluminium boats. If i have piece made to extend back towards the engine i think i could get another 2 litres or so in the system. And every little bit helps in these temps we have here at the moment.
  24. Turbo fairies my arse.... they took everything off and vanished when the beer ran out! was the beer can genie that put the buggers back on bless her little cotten socks. would you believe i wasnt even in the car when the bonnet came up....was on the trailer and i didnt even notice til i pulled up at the track
  25. well done mate going to have ago at this myself
