been posted for some time. Johnnyt be careful if you plan to run the car without having it tuned when running larger turbos Good luck with it make a big difference when you get all the mods
-
yep
-
yep but that is with a PFC, 600 cc injectors, big fuel system, altered cam timing, etc and a bloody good tune. From my limited knowledge we are talking about a lot more flow at .8 bar from the 2860-5 than stock. Just be careful and check your AFR and knock
-
Hmm not so sure about that but i may well be talking out my cannon here but flow of .8 bar from stock turbos is quite a bit less than .8 bar from the 2860-5. Although pressure is the same you will be pumping lots more volume of air, my old car just made over 400awhp at stock boost with the 2860-5 turbos. If you baby the car around for the next how ever long you could get away with it if your lucky, i dont think i could resist a little squirt here and there though and there would be the problem. Please check with others as i may well be talking shite as i seem to quite often.

try slides Hi flows But you will end up doing the other mods been there and done that
-
made around 450 AWHP with stock cams and bottom end and 2860-5 turbos pfc 600cc injectors etc etc. did adjust the cams 2 degrees advance on the inlet and 4 retard on exhaust. And get yourself a PFC and injectors as no point with turbos if these are not going in with them.

So a GTR with a fmic and pods are defectable?
-
yep just put some on my R32 GTR feel great just a little bit lagger than stock R32 units but push really hard. Only thing that didnt fit was the oil drain fitting on bottom of turbo so the bolt holes need to be slotted to fit.

Big Brake Upgrade For Gtr

designed to work i cant answer, but work it does. Think the back brakes could work harder and i will trial some different compounds with the standard calipers -
Which Brakes Are Better
tacker replied to danoz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Good point ! The big advanage is that you get to run a 356mm x 35mm disc and a whole lot bigger pad than standard which helps no end for brake fade as it contains more metal, aluminium bell and a larger surface area. Not to mention the advantage of the mechanical force the larger rotor provides. I could still brake hard with the standard nissan calipers but heat would get to them in the end. The G4's brakes harder than the standards units i have no doubt about that but you can only brake as hard as your tyres will allow and i found after moving to slicks the standard caliper could just not get rid of the heat fast enough and ended up as brake fade. Back to the topic of the thread, i was not lucky enough to get brembo on my R32 so for me it was to buy the brembo or G4. Brembo are 10 years old and 324 x 28mm G4 was new and 356 x 35mm with aluminium hats and new pads. -

Yes and no LOL I have ordered the same pads again as they looked great when the came out no burnt edges etc still nice grey color. But takes time to get them here to dubai from Just Jap in Australia. I have found a supply of friction performance 93 pads which are from the BTCC in the UK so i am going to do some testing with these and compare the two keeping in mind the FP93 are only 46mm radial depth while the Just jap pads are 51mm radial depth -
my old girl has an atmo BOV but it doesnt stall, though i can understand the reason why it should.

Tell you one thing Roy with 8 pots being filled the brake fluid level drops when your pads get down. No issue yet as pads pushed back nicely when put new items in on all 4 pads. Old pads looked ok to me not much of a uneven wear pattern, lets see how the second set wear will post some pics as old one have been binned. -

Isnt the oil sender electric from the engine bay ino the cabin or do you have an aftermarket unit.
-
yer swear by liquid performance gains numbs any kind of pain including overdraftitis
-
yer not to sure about the figure myself or how you calibrate a dyno dynamics 4 wheel dyno. but either way it performs sooo much better But what a difference in performance...my hands dont hurt half as much as they did early last week. I dont know about the figure produced but the tuner didnt seem interested in the graph reading much at all. didnt move his eyes from the wide band or remove the det cans from his head, really didnt give a rats about the figure.

standard everything except FMIC, 2860-5 turbos, 600cc injectors, adjustable cam timing gears, hks dumps and 90mm exhaust

a pic of the rda's going on the car some time ago

you can try the RDA rotors which worked well on my car until i went for a larger kit . They do not have a bell or hat and are one piece units but for the same price you could get 2 sets and replace half way through your rally. I mated they up to the project MU level 900 pads which may have been a bit hot for these rotors but worked well. I still have the RDA discs on the rear of my car and i now run slicks.

Leaner Afr`s With Warmer Fuel Temps ?
tacker replied to Cameron_Datto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
try this cut and paste http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku they are not for high pressure system so would have to be installed into the return line where there is no pressure well not much at least. -
thats a first an oil cooled ECU....... i think it would just be some spillage that has run down the conduit could have come from anywhere. I dont think that there is any oil flow in that area of your car give it a wipe and see if it stops or better still spray some contact cleaner or wd 40 up the conduit to flush it out a little.

Good point Tjandriesen and i think for a street car they may well be over kill. But any car with 540AWHP street or track is going to need some kind of brake improvement. As good as the standard bremo units are they are going to struggle if used in anger on a track. I was happy with my old nissan units and until i changed over i didnt realise how much better the bigger rotors were. sort of simular to standard turbos, yes they are good but are no match to the after market units available now. Still personal preference and your point about a street car has lots of merit -

just completed another track day on full racing rubber, 4 x 20 minute sessions on the G4 356mm front and standard rear and with a lighted car i can match the braking performance of the turbo or GT3 porsche. as Duncan said i wonder about the pads but i can complain as they stop bloody well but wear quite quickly too. I know they are a AP 6pot brake pad shape so i will be ordering a suitable pad to see if that makes it even better. You will need a 18" wheel to fit the 356mm kit on as i do and they fit well under them but would not want any smaller than that.
