Project Mu level 900

Does anyone know where the most common point to check for a front diff that leaks oil only when it is hot. Not one drop when cold just after the diff heats up then it pours out. regards
-
Guys, any idea on the front diff and where they commonly leak from on a R32. Would seem that the bottom section of the diff housing is clean as the oil has cleaned it up when leaking, but the top still has road grime on it. I think it maybe the gasket between the sump and the flange for the drive shaft housing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
-
Made just over 2 volts diff to mine when i ran the direct feed. But then again mine runs 3 pumps.
-
Cheers mate i will work it out from here, again thanks so therefore rpm/gearbox ratio/diff ratio x wheel circumfrence ( in metres ) x 60 = kph 7000/1/4.11x.00208x 60= 212kph and not the 200 the speedo was showing while at 7000rpm and 4th gear.
-
Guys i have search the forum but could not locate the answers i need. What i am looking for is the ratio of 4th gear and the diff ratio of a R32 GTR so i can see how far out my speedo reads with the 18" wheels on. regards

Brake Ducts Revision 2
tacker replied to tacker's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yer BB we are some what spoiled i guess as this is an F1 rated track. Although it does get a bit slippery with the fine sand being blown across it. And it was that way yesterday i caould see the sand moving across the track at certain points. And another good thing is no gravel traps, the run off areas are all sealed and are huge one run off area at the end of the main straight is 120 metres before the inflated barriers. You can do a search on it just type in autodrome and it should pop up. And yes the brake ducts work a treat not one mm of pedal drop in 20 minutes of hard running in 40+ temps, quite simply the work very well if you are having problems with over heating brakes this worked a treat. I am really surprised just how much difference there was with 2 more ducts to the front and 2 rear ducts. I dont know which made the diff but as a unit they worked well enough to out last the porsche turbos brakes and they were lapping about the same times as me. -

Yep they worked a treat! 6 x 20 minute sessions in 40 + temp, no brake fade what so ever on standard calipers and Porject MU level 900 pads. Little pic on me trying to catch Z06 corvette -
Yep i have the project Mu level 900 on the front bendix ultima on rear, nismo steel braided lines, standard gtr calipers and RDA slotted standard size rotors and lots and lots of brake ducts. I can get through a 20 minute track session with just the smallest amount of fade, pedal drops about 20mm. And the ambient temp was 40 C +. BUT they dont come cheap.
-
Again Cheers warp but its not going to go on the road its only for track days. And its can not be registered here any longer as they have been banded in the UAE for road use, well after 2004 they were. I guess this why the are cheap, seen a R32 RB20det for 4000 dirham (1400$ ) and it was a good old car ran really well and ac even worked after more than 2 years sitting in the sun not moving.
-
Cheers Nismoid! Dont think we can go wrong as they are only sking 2,600$ for it.

Guys, have located a R33 GTS-T which i am thinking about buying for a mate as a track car. Is there anything different to look out for compared to a GTR. The car it self seems ok again has been sitting around for a few years, its a 95 model, 88k with 17"x 8" wheels and a 3" cat back. Apart from that its standard. regards

How Do I Tell What My Spring Rates Are?
tacker replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Cheers SK, If your ever in this part of the world you have a night of free beers. I am thinking that i still might need some softer springs in the rear, what would your recommend? Regards -
Roy my car is up on stands at the minute what do you want pics of exactly

Yet to see any race tracks with speed humps......would sort of defeat the whole purpose of them wouldn't you think -

Should mention the car is a light as possible. Not sure what the weight of a stripped out R32 GTR would be. Also i have some 18" RS+m enkei wheels which are very light not sure if that helps with the braking performance -

My RDA rotors seem to be doing ok. Had 3 good outings on them with 3 big stops from 220KMH, 3 stops from 140 and some piddly 5 from 100 or lower during a 2 minute lap and 10 laps per session and 6 sessions a day. Small amount of fade but still kept pulling the old girl up. -

Not quite BB they are actually at 90 degrees, the pics may not show it but each duct turns to face the rotor. -

SK, Your correct again i got the idea of some pic's you posted in the motor sport furum. The reason the rear ducts are so far forward is so i could mount the aluminimum strip to the bolts that are already in place from the roll cage. I was not sure about the fronts as i could not see any of that from your pics but i now have 2 ducts to each front wheel, so i hope that helps. The reason i had to go 180 degrees on the rear is that unlike the Gibson GTRs which have the caliper on the rear of the rotor the standard set up sees the caliper mounted on the front. I wanted the air to be directed into the space on the back of rotor where the vains should be able to pull cool air through the rotor and this is the location i could do it. On the front i already have a pair of ducting front the front of the car yet last time out i have a slight drop on the brake peddle at about 10 minutes of running. So i thought i would run another set to the rear of the front rotors to see if that helps next week. Unless you have a trip planned to Dubai so you can purchase the alum duct in Sharjah i think it might be a little more costly back home. But yes i was home a few weeks ago and i did see it in Bunnings, what the duct is 90mm gas stove flue. And you will be surprised how strong and flexible it is. And the alum strip is just 25mm by 2mm and some alum rivits. regards -
Finially got round to installing some more brake ducts tonight. 4 hours and 50$ worth of material. one more pic, hope this will keep them cool
-
Not sure you would need a battery in the boot but a direct feed from your battary where ever it is located is a sound idea for that amount power

How Do I Tell What My Spring Rates Are?
tacker replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi SK, Just back from Angola and have measured the springs as you suggested. Front top 118 od bot 113 od spring 14 coils 7 total 2 progressive coils rear top 113 od bot 100 od spring 13.5 coils 8 total 2 progressive coils. Ps also found the front sway bar is broken not sure how long that has been like that and i guess would not be helping with the loose rear during mid corner. King Regards -
Here is the pic Roy
