LOL not the reaction i was hoping for! I am really gutted over this but the head over ruled the heart i guess. We could not see a way within our budget to get the car to the level required. And to be honest the viper wasnt all that expensive as we brought a roller with a dog box and have a Gen three 8.3 litre ( i do get a wee smirk on my face each time i say that ) on the way from the states. Car is to have its carbon fibre body put back in place this week so pics are a bit non completed.

We the time has come for the old girl to take a rest! We looked at what was required to make the old girl competitive and it was just going to cost too much and wasnt sure she would last the distance against some very very quick race cars that are coming to race in the new GT class. That being the case we have purchased a GT3 viper to run in the new seasons races, and the old girl will now be my track car i guess. And i feel really gutted about it, but what else to do.

Sad sad day! Seems that the skyline will be commited to trackdays from here on it. I just cant see a way i could get it to compete with what is on the way for our next race season. The heat here just kills the FI cars. Dont think i could bring myself to sell it but will cross that bridge if and when. Will put it online and see if some one is keen enough to campain it again. Not sure if i will be allowed back on the site but my business partner and i have ( tomorrow ) purchased a GT3 viper to race in the GTA class and the Lotus exige ( with K20 honda conversion ) for the endurance racing and GTB class if we feel like doing 45 minutes each.

Support race i dont think that would be a possiblity. But they are talking about getting our cars down there before the F1 to give the circuit a pounding to see if there are any issues before the F1 race Snowy. At this point there is talk of hold some of our race meeting there but thats yet to be confirmed.

Just for interest we are going to develop this body kit a bit more so its sits lower to the surface and flat bottom the old car. Also ordered or going to as soon as i work out what the difference in oil picks up are, a RIPS RB26/30 bottom end and a stocko too. Seems the garage these days is knocking out body kits for lots of different cars you should see the EVO currently under development. Might be able to find a link to show you

S1 Lotus exige with K20 Honda conversion in GPB class. Being built as we speak. S1 Lotus exige with turbo honda conversion in GPA class. Or Sportsedan with F3$% off V8 engine, clunky old 4 speed gearbox and a quickchange diff

Full on FIA GT rules with 3 classes of power to weight. GTA min of 2.7Kg/Hp GTB min of 3.7Kg/Hp GTC min of 4.7Kg/Hp 40 minute mini enduro races with mandarory pits stop of driver change or refuel. Performance box data recorder for checking power out put. open to all but GT1 cars, but sportsedans i have arrange to slip under the radar and can be used LOL

nar i think simple will be the way to go out right pace of the old girl is ok just never get the bloody thing to finish. Big v8, cluncky old 4 speed, hino diff and a space frame i can repair and moulds for the panels.

firmly entrenched in the dark side for years now it seems. Some smart arse in a GT3RS decided to take the front left hand corner off the old girl in the first corner. I could see him trying to out brake me even through he was on the outside???? Madly on the brakes trying to miss the Twa@t and his front wheel some how managed to tear off my front spoiler and of course the oil cooler had 26 cars behind me so i just kept the car going till i could get to a run off area and pull over. I didnt know he had caused damage to the oil cooler until it stopped and its still stopped :-) locked up solid. I have not idea how or what managed to get that far in to get to the bloody thing as it well protected. The only thing i can think off is he hit the cooler hose and it ripped the top core clean off. Arrrw well such is life. waiting to see what the final regs are and then decide on what i do LS1 sound interesting as does a RB 30/26

try as i might i cant get close to these things, the GT3RS yes but the heavily modified GT2, Z06 and viper are just to bloody quick of which my old banger will be lumped into as its not GT3 or 4. I am no slouch behind the wheel either i have national karting championships etc. But i am truely all at sea with this car and getting to do as i want. I love the old engine even with its issues but to have a space frame car with the RB 26 in it would tick all the boxes for me.

Duncan, it seems we are going to be heading down the route of GT3 And GT4 which i really dont want to be butting heads with GT3 cup cars. They are also running a class simular to the 24 hours regs, which allow space frame cars and any that fall outside GT3 & 4 and THAT is more to my liking. Even though were are currently converting a lotus elise to GT3 spec but with a K20 honda engine, i still like the idea of a space frame car.

i guess that i can convert an exsisting frame to accept the RB even if i dont run the 4wd i dont think that would be an issue for me. Makes it easier to dry sump i guess. I did see a car on this forum being prepare and i am not sure if that was yours Risking. Which site would i be best look at to find a doner car?

Guys, anyone know of a sports sedan that is either an unfinished project or one sitting around, it seems our regs are changing next year and i will be able to run a space frame car and i have a good rb26 to throw in.
