  1. I am not sure but i would say that you have had some very fine dirt / grit in your engine either from assembly or ingressed from a oil change. I am no expert but with a lack of oil pressure you have metal on metal which causes heat and a dis coloring of the copper surface. From these pictures i cant see any real heat discoloring on the bearing. What i see is a good shiney finish which could be from fine particals slowly polishing your bearings away. What leave me wondering is the marks i can see on the bearing, again hard to tell but they look like dents and there is only one way these can be put into the inside of a bearing shell
  2. phunky, where did you get the tailshaft made?
  3. LOL yes there are 2 x 997 GT3RS running in the series, and proudly the old girl is handing their butts back to them on a plate......when i can get the tart to finish that is. Truely a female friday car if i have ever seen one! But when it all clicks for an 17 year old car it more than holds its own. The rear wing is an APR, and its been good so far and the old GTR does need a bit of rear downforce to off set the understeer. But again big hats off to mountainrunners 4wd controller. That! made a huge difference! LOL got a few comments about having a diff spliter in the car with the wee red switch from the 4WD controlleri mounted on the gear shift. Very handy to be able to change maps when coming into a corner and again on the way out at a flick of the switch.
  4. yep good point for HANS i reckon, still was the only bad one this time and the lad in 44 did spin in front of the honda. But in saying that if the guy in 56 had been alert he could have followed the series 1 BMW who got around it.
  5. Clink on the link for the first batch of round 4 pictures http://www.dubaipetrolheads.com/index.php?topic=3262.0 http://www.anysportphotos.com/ More to follow no doubt
  6. Will post up a link later today when all the snappers start posting their pics
  7. done and dusted! popped a coolers hose in race one after a poor quaily so started 9 out of 28for race one, seems some one forgot to inform me that they conbined the free practice and quailifying into the same session. So here i am bedding a set of front brakes in, grrrrr although did get to 5th before popped said bastard hose. Race 2 start 28 and finished 4th cant tell you what a difference mountain runners 4wd controller made! the old warhorse flew the flag in the last race but a dose of very pi@#ed off driver does help every now and again. But man that 8.4 litre viper is just brutal and with 345 rear slicks it just hauls butt
  8. will be interesting to see mate as i have my weights noted and got to about 18 kg diff on the cross weights and i can tell you the car is much better on tyres after this weekend
  9. going to be needing it in bucket loads
  10. righto off to do battle again today! Got a new Z06, GT2, GT3RS and a bloody great viper to deal with, ohh and nearly forgot those 2 insanely fast EVO's with the 2.4 litre engines (4g64 block) running GT38 turbos. Also seems we have been discovered by the europian racing series as we now have guests teams showing up to race here for testing before their seasons start in march. All thanks to Sky sport broadcasting our race series in the UK. What the bet we will have BTCC cars here in the near future. Gotta feel sorry for my battered old warhorse, but skylines rule !
  11. Come on lads some one must have corner weighted a car before.
  12. Guys, any idea what a good weight distrabution for an R32 GTR is i have weighed mine and have roughly a 58% front / 42% rear split and a diagonal weight difference of 18 kgs with driver and fuel. Anyone else played around with this?
  13. where are you getting the pressure reading from
  14. I have them in my R32 GTR race car and i seem to have no issues with them but they have only been in 6 months.
  15. parked up, was home for christmas by then Roy. Will be back in action next weekend with mountain runners 4wd controller and a rebuilt rear diff

  17. i race against a Z06 and they are really quick and heaven forbid very reliable as well. This thing has always finished every race its been in. Ohh god just found out there a bloody dogde viper entered in the series as well now......

  20. If you can get the lexan to about 110 degrees it then become flexiable so a real big bath then rap it around the old screen unti it becomes ridgit again.
  21. another good pic has cropped up
  22. Hmmm you have raised a good point there beery, guess the old porker will have to stay on a while longer. LOL for that i could get a few R34's.......what was i thinking????? Good luck with the sale and for those looking at the car if the man says its mint then its mint.
