Not sure where you guys are getting your information from, but carbon fibre is not a mythical fabric weave that all of sudden destroys anything in its path when it breaks. The actual carbon fibre itself does not do any damage, its more often the clear coat on top that has stuck to the carbon which will cause minor splintoring. Depending on the construction type (I'm assuming wet lay-up which most carbon items like hoods and bootlids are made from) will have the same properties as fibreglass when it's crushed or hit with force. You also need to consider that almost all hoods on today's market are not really made entirely of carbon fibre. They are a fibreglass skeleton with only a single layer of carbon on the top. You should also remember that all of the top motorsport categories like F1 and high end sports cars use carbon fibre (or a carbon/kevlar mix) to construct their chassis.
I'm fitting my new rocker covers this weekend (I have weld on AN fittings that have been smoothed and polished). Which means my stock breathers are up for grabs.
I'm in talks with several state transport authorities, at the moment trying to seek explicit clarification on these rulings, and so far they have been somewhat helpful. At this stage I'm not going to rule out all fibreglass/carbon bonnets to be illegal. Hopefully will have more on this soon, along with supporting documentation
With our current courier (Allied Express) it's $400. However you are welcome to use your own courier, we are always researching new couriers for cheaper rates too.
I would really like to know where you got your figures from? I don't mean to be rude, however you might be surprised once you approach your state authorities and seek clarification. As my understanding is that the bonnet itself only plays a small role in crumple zone testing.

The R32 GTR is 50m wider. So you would have to stretch the bar to fit. I guess its possible but it wouldn't be pretty.
Hence why you you cant put a GTR bar on a GTST without chopping the middle out.
