  1. Hi just a quick question. Was thinking about putting a 5 stud conversion onto a cefiro but ive got the other option of being able to get hold of a R33 hub. My question is will the 33 hub bolt straight on where the cefiro hub was or not????

  3. Got a rebuilt rb30 bottom end, new pistons etc hasnt had a drop of fuel through it and the head off my old RB25DET for sale. I was in the process of doing the 30/25 conversion myself but the guy that was doing it for me isnt real well so i just got another 25 and dropped it in. $1300 for the whole lot. Most of the work is already done, just a matter of putting the head on and putting it in ur car. Any questions PM me. Cheers

  9. Hey guys, just reading through this thread. Im just in the finishing stages of doing the 25/30 conversion and just bought a forward facing plennum, not a GREDDY one, just the same mould, as i understood that i needed to either install that, or drop my engine mounts due to the extra height of the 30 bottom end making the engine sit too high and me not being able to shut my bonnet properly. So what have other people done to combat the problem of height in this conversion and are these plennums really f**king the motor or is that just speculation that people speak of like its fact. Makes sense what is being said though
  10. Where abouts did u actually go in to get to it, u get there from the boot somehow? There anyway u can flush the tank while its still in there or not really?
  11. Hi i got a guide off an old thread which was an ECU guide out of zoom magazine from like 2 years ago. I was looking through and comparing all the different computers and the EMS 8860 i think it was called seemed to stand out from the rest in options and price. I was just wanted some feedback from people who have used these computers to try and find out the pros/cons of them. Also if anyone knows where i can get a current ECU chart or guide of some sort that would also be very much so appreciated because i know a few companies have released better ECU's than what were listed on the chart EG Link has a much better computer than they had listed back then out now. Any feedback would be great because i dont really have the good of an understanding on all the features of them. Thanks guys.
  12. Hi guys and girls, was just wonderin how difficult it is to get the fuel tank out of a S1 R33. I blew my motor up n im doin the 30/25 conversion which is nearly finished and i thought last thing i wanna do is pump fuel thats over a year old thru my nice new engine so wanna take the tank out and get it flushed etc so every things mickey mouse.

Thanks, yeh i got an FC lined up, was just saying that like if i have to wait a few weeks cause im not gunna get it n short change myself halfway thru the rebuild. but i'd have it not long after its finished regardless. Using a rebuilt rb30 non turbo bottom end with the head off my rb25det. Im Using Arias Forged Pistons .40. Ive been looking into the rods, so far only ones im keen on are ones made by Argo, anyone heard about them??? I also checked out Spools website and saw the ones they have advertised. What have people with R33's done to counter the extra height of the rb30, how much work is involved in dropping the engine mounts? Its gotta drop 15ml or 30ml? All the oil feeds etc that need to be changed are all in that PDF rite? Oh one last thing, what will the CR be roughly with the bored out forgies, and what can i do to adjust it to a more ideal CR? What ended up being the best result if i have VCT, ditch it or rig it back up somehow?
  14. in regard to the pins, would the arias pistons be classed as custom pistons seeing as they were made specifically for the rb30/25 conversion? If i dont get a computer straight up is the engine gunna run like a bag of shit on the rb25det computer, or will it be alrite for a while till i get an aftermarket one? Also does anyone know where i can get hold of a power FC, i know EVERYONE wants them, why did apexi stop making them for skylines, idiots!
  15. Hi guys, i know this is an old thread, and everything i want to know is more than likely covered in it, im up to like page 18 i think, slowly getting there!!!! I pretty well need a quick detailed description to give to my mechanic who is putting this conversion together for me. Me and a mate were going to do it all ourselves just to get my skyline goin again and make a good engine on the side as i got money, but as it is, ive got 5k so am just going to put forged pistons and rods straight into the rb30 block ive already got and get it done first time. Using a rebuilt rb30 non turbo bottom end with the head off my rb25det. Im Using Arias Pistons as they have a model specifically made for the 30/25 conversion. The part No. through rocket industries is AP332105 - .40 or AP332104 - .20. I was wondering what Rods other people recommended to use, rocket have only the one set that are quite expensive as they are some alloy or somethin i dont need. I dont really want to go with a no name brand, as id prefer to get a brand that is proven to be of good quality as im going for reliability at the moment so i can focus on power later What have people with R33's done to counter the extra height of the rb30, how much work is involved in dropping the engine mounts 15ml? In regard to rods i have been asked a question by one person if i need a 21 or 22 ml gudgeon pin, ive got no idea! Also do i need to get anything done to the crank or anything else while the engine is all apart as id prefer to spend a bit more now n get it all sweet so i have no problems later. Another question is with forged pistons, im going .40, am i going to need an aftermarket computer, well even just having the rb30 bottom end will change ratios etc thus putting the RB25det computer out???? Hey mate my car is doing the same shit like cutting out at random times and the car comes to a haul even. it gives the shits so much, had it on the diagnostist twice n it said AFM error. got a 2nd hand AFM off a dude on the this forum n i still had the same problems and error code. dont know how good the actual AFM i got 2nd was. but my cars back at the dealers at the moment getting looked at so, hopefully someone will shed some light on this
  17. hey i was wondering if u convert a auto r33 to a manual and it still has the auto computer in it,did the people who converted the car have to split any wires or stuff like important shit? (stuff that could stuff up) and would it be easy to just plug an apexi computer straight in? or would i hav to work out wat they did with some wiring stuff. thats abit of a poorly worded mouthfull but thanks anyway guys if u can understand it

  19. hey guys i have recently got a r33 1995 which had previously been auto n now is a manual, and im starting to hav problems i had it thrown on a computer and it came up with a error code on the AFM, i got a 2ndhand one but i still get the problem and error (but i was unsure of the quailty of the secondhand one i got). could there be a problem within the loom or something where they might hav split the the wires to accommodate the manual. (ie do they hav to do something to the AFM that may hav to be changed during a conversion to manual from auto) thanks in advancee!!

  23. yeah mate aleady done that, soldered joints are perfect and i sprayed it with brake cleaner n it didnt f**k up much as b4 so i went up coast 300+km drive and now it out the front and wont start LOL just put it on a diagonisic machine last nite too and it still says airflow meter. it also now when u start it makes a nosie like the fan belt is slipping man my day is gettin worst by the minute
  24. hey well i did like a month or so ago, on my other account (WHich i cant log into anymore for some werid reason) but i was unsure of if it was faulty, like the dude said it was all good, but it still played up and now im up the coast and need to get home very soon, and a mate of mine has a r33 series one with a blown motor ( but i knew the AFM was working at the time). so maybe this might be a quick fix to get home for abit
