james, i did this with my car. what i did was go to bbc and get 2 light l brackets, theyre like 35 cents each. screw one side of the bracket into the top of the vent where you cant see it so the other side hangs down. then screw the plate in. 70 cents and works just as well as anything from japan i'll try and get you some pics

the bass is always louder in a hatch. its because of the loading and the boot size. you'll never get the setup to sound as loud as the hatch. youll probably have to give it twice the power to catch up but still, try and face it in a different direction to get some more out of it, you might get an improvement
