  1. nah i liked the feel of my heaver clutch better but this one is fine once i got used to it.
  2. i got the same as you benm cost me $730 installed into my R31 good clutch only complaint is it's a lot lighter feel than my old clutch. has taken a beating quite well now.
  3. i've had that on dvd for a few months now and i still watch it at least once a week. its a bloody adrenaline rush and it sounds sooo good how much fun would he have had doing that! where can i get the other vids metioned? they sound good any other good not to be missed vids?
  4. check that your exhaust manifold is still secure and has no broken bolts. i had exactly same sounding problem and was fixed when i put extractors on.
  5. That is a bloody good idea! we need to do everything possible to promote drifting in Australia.
  6. an R43 as a first car would be great but its really a stupid idea. the chance of crashing your first car is very high and then you would end up with nothing. buy a silvia or 32,33 gtst and put the rest into shares or something.
  7. nah don't take it to a mechanic for those problems. it is a waste of money. it is good to learn how to do things yourself. You have to start somewhere. As stated above: Buy a gregories service manual. These help a LOT. 1) the noise when turning the wheel will be a power steering problem. check fluid, check for leaks. if neither of these go to: r31skylineclub.com and ask or search there. (Great site for R31's) 2) Make sure the hose at the botton hasn't come off hence the leak. Yes most wreackers will have these. What state r u in? if melb can recommend some good wreckers. 3) You get to the bulb from behind. Inside the engine bay you will see black rubber covers attached to the back of the light. pull this out then unscrew bulb and take to auto shop. any more problems just post them up, always happy to help
  8. hey Duncan what advise would you give someone who wants to start racing cars (any level)? i have no track experience yet. i was planning on getting a cams liscence and then going to some track days to get the feel for it. but that would then void my chance of a lifetime daewoo class. how much is a season in the daewoos? what does it get you? also what happens with panel damage and crashes and stuff? any advise much appreciated! Cheers Phil
  9. whats the level of competition like in the daewoo class? i would love to give that a go one day.
  10. Hey slip thats a mad picture. puts a smile on my face every time i see it gotta get me one.
  11. go to R31skylineclub.com all your answers and more await u there.
  12. my R31 cost me next to nothing to run for the first year while it was stock and i didn't drive it hard. now i am modding it , it's costing me all my money and more. i go to uni 5 days a week and also work. i am searching for a second job to stop me from going broke. which will leave me with no life other than working for my car.
  13. yeah tyres r pretty expensive but i get them second hand for $75 each for hard profile which isn't too bad. i reckon a harness or new seat would definantly be benefitial as i find myself leaning into the center of the car all the time which makes wrong steering easier to do. i'm thinking of getting the mechanical lokka because i am in the search for power and i figure drifting and power will mean the stock lsd's would die real quick. the lokka i'm looking at is good for quite large power. me and my mates film 1/3 of our weekly drift sessions and we have over 1.5 hours on tape at the moment. a couple of crashes too. keep up the good work guys.
  14. my car did this when i got a new heavy duty clutch and had gearbox oil changed. i thought the mechanic had stuffed something up as the gears were really rough. I think it just needed to be worn in as its fine now. hopefully this is the same for you.
  15. yeah well i got one going into my car this weekend and i can't wait. hey OVL-747 how do stock VLT's go? cause that's what i will soon have but with higher compression.
  16. well i am the happiest man alive today. just got told my turbo will be going in this weekend. i cant WAIT or SLEEP ! anyway i have 17's on my car and find drifting in the dry a little hard with the amount of power the 31 puts out but in the wet its unreal. Keep this thread going guys. :burnout:
  17. sorry to hijack thread just wanted to know r t3's ceramic?
  18. hey Nate good to see another 31 owner wanting to drift good suspension is a must as it cuts down bodyroll my LSD is now single spinning so i am thinking of getting a 'Lokka' hopefully will help with the drift. also more power will definantly make it easier. hopefully have a turbo in 2 weeks so i'll tell you how i go. also having a manual would help you a lot. as you could then drop the clutch just before corner to get the wheels spinning nicely.
  19. i was passenger in my mates 33 a couple of months back. we were pulling out of a side street onto a main rd. a cop drove past us down the main rd and put his indicater on to turn around before we had even taken off we then turn right and travel about 300 metres up the main rd and we get pulled over. my mate was nice to them. he books us for doing 75 in a 60 zone. we were doing 50 no joke. court case is this week. i'll tell u all how it goes.
  20. Sydneykid, $300 for the head in the end is a good price. sort of puts it back into perspective. is $900 for an RB25DE average market value or is that cheap? cheers
  21. Nice one Fatz;) R31's Rock!
