  1. The bosch fuel pumps are rated for higher pressures than the walbros. Admittedly, I am running a walbro at the moment, but it's basically a standard RB20 and I will be getting a proper lift pump and a bosch when I put a surge tank in. In this case, I'd go back to standard FPR, a bosch pump, larger injectors, retune. The money/time lost by missing a track day would be far less than compared to having to repair a damaged engine.
  2. -4 deg of camber is a fair bit. Can you see what is bent? Hopefully you can just replace a couple bent arms with standard R32 items.
  3. Just be aware that if you replace bulbs with LED bulbs you will experience the "fast flash" that occurs when you have blown bulbs.
  4. Probably need a few more sensors, exhaust Oxygen sensor, Throttle position sensor, distributor compatible with EFI? Should be able to get any of these parts off an RB30E (if they are available to you). Otherwise, install an RB25 head/ecu/loom etc convert it to twin cam.
  5. Any S13 or R32 diff will fit providing it has the same bolt pattern on the half shafts.
  6. Open bonnet, 1 phillips head screw on the bracket ontop of the headlight, then you just hit it forwards with the palm of your hand. Should be a standard wedge type bulb.
  7. As battery technology gets better (and it is) electric only cars will be able to travel further on a single charge (and the battery weight will decrease). I like the idea of having a diesel powered generator on board, but I'd say it would be more efficient to charge directly from a socket outlet, even if it is coal fired electricity. Hopefully one day every house will have solar panels for roofing, which will also charge our cars. Here's a thought. How much power is required to manufacture a solar panel? How much power can a solar panel recapture over its lifetime.
  8. Solar panels are good I reckon, just need better solar and battery technologies.
  9. Problem with this is current battery technology means the car would need a massive battery bank which would require replacing every couple years (not to mention the manufacturing and disposal processes). Also, charging times are relatively slow. Where are you going to charge it from? Electric cars seem like a good idea until you realise that the power is still being generated by a coal fired plant.
  10. How come you list nistune seperately from full management?
  11. Yep, I've confirmed by measuring the length of rb25 and rb26 bellhousings (approx 400mm if anyone wants to know). I measured the rear housing of a mates R34 RB25 rear housing at 410mm, mine measured up at about 460mm. Also had another look at some photos of 25 boxes and compared to mine my rear housing has an extra bracket underneath the shifter. It's definitely a completely different box. Looking at more photos, it looks exactly like the larger box found in late model turbo Z31 300zx (has the same internals as the Z32/rb25 etc). So now I'm a member of auz31 forums trying to get them to give me a hand identifying it. Phew, who would've thought a 25box conversion could turn out to be such a hassle!
  12. What you mean like the hybrids we have now (combustion engine for power and electric motor for economy) but instead using a diesel or LPG powered engines? Or something like a combustion engine that runs constantly to drive a generator which would provide electrical power for charging and electric motor to drive the car?
  13. The RB30 was available in the GQ patrol upto 1997 anyway, so moot point.
  14. Okay, been doing some more searching and found that some models of Z31 were fitted with bigger gearboxes (have the same internals as the Z32/RB25/26 etc) but they did not have the external shifter linkage. So going from the photos it looks identical to the RB25 box. The gearbox code for them was FS5R30A, which also matches up with RWD navaras. So have a few more leads to chase up now.
  15. The gearbox in that link is a Z32 gearbox, I sold it because I didn't want to stuff around with the remote shifter I am well aware of the differences between a Z32 gearbox and an RB25 box. The gearbox I have, It looks exactly like an RB25 box, it has the slanted section where the shifter plate bolts down (it doesn't have a remote shifter). Word from another forum is that it may be from a Cima?
  16. It's currently installed in my cefiro, so pictures will be hard. It looks just like an R33 box, it's just longer.
  17. Took some measurements. An R34 manual gearbox. Bellhousing was approx 400mm, and the rear housing was approx 410mm. My gearbox, the RB26 bellhousing was approx 400mm, and the rear housing was approx 460mm. So f**k knows what gearbox it is. It looks like an R33 gearbox (has that slanted section where the shifter plate bolts onto the box).
  18. Well all I can think then is the gearbox is not an R33 gtst box? Are the R34 GTT boxes different to the R33 GTST boxes?
  19. My cefiro had the factory jack and wheel chocks. On the right hand side of the boot, the jack sits in there (can't remember if you wedge it in, or if you put it in place and wind the jack open to hold it secure). The wheel chocks then just sit down the side of the jack.
  20. How about you get the vinyl made up and put it on, then decide whether or not you like it. If you don't like it you could probably sell the bonnet with the vinyl installed to get your money back.
  21. If it's putting out 4V instead of sinking to ground then perhaps the ECU has issues?
  22. According to the castrol website, it's 2.9litres for the larger RB25/26 gearboxes. The R32 GTST isn't listed on castrol.
  23. I called. No answer, so I left a message. Will take pics tomorrow afternoon.
  24. If you are removing hicas, remove as much of the lines/solenoids as you can, and then join the lines together. You won't need to install any computers as your car already has hicas (and it's associated computers) you will need a lock bar to replace the hicas rear steering.
