  1. I don't think the R32 crossmember fits in the cefiro because of the different front end suspension. They use cefiro crossmembers in S13 for RB conversions.
  2. You don't own a silver sedan do you? I've seen one getting around lytton and tingalpa a couple times. Also, been seeing a coupe getting around the city with custom plates ALL DAY
  3. What kind of exhaust was it? Factory? Aftermarket? It doesn't seem logical that it would fit considering the longer wheelbase of the cefiro, would think that it would foul around the subframe and that the tailpipe would be too short?
  4. I'd go the R31 route, especially if the motor is still running. Then you have a spot to put your old engine, and any other parts you want to scrap can just throw them in the car. There are car collection services they will come around to your house and tow the car away for you for free.
  5. Mine was original auto and converted to manual using an R32 RB20 engine and box, and it sits smack bang in the center. If yours is too far forward then possibly the engine mounts/brackets? Dan_J's suggestion about the RB30 box seems more logical though. Not sure how you tell between an RB20 and RB30 box.
  6. Most people throw/give away their complete rear seats as no one else wants them. I gave mine away last week.
  7. Recently had the fuel rail off mine a couple times. The easiest way is to pull the throttle body off the plenum and remove the AAC (or IAC?) valve. It is positioned between the 4th and 5th injector. Be careful with the throttle body gasket though as it is easy to damage. Other way, is leave everything in place, unbolt the rail and lift it up enough to wriggle the injectors out of the rail, then pull it all out. Only problem with this way is it is a bit more difficult getting the rail and injectors back in place.
  8. I had one of these tape adaptors back in the day for my first car (used my portable CD player) and the cassette part was designed so that you could run the cable out either end, which enabled you to flip the tape over. If you had the tape in the wrong way the heads wouldn't line up properly and you'd get the problem with the volume being too quite. But I also remember having to take them back and trying a couple different brands before I found one that worked with my head deck. In this case though, the V35 has a factory aux in, just need to get a bit of cable with a headphone jack on one end and wire the other end into the TV tuner in the boot.
  9. *double post*
  10. Check you have the headphone jack plugged in properly. If the head deck has an option for playing the other side of the tape, try that. Or flip the cassette over and put it back in.
  11. Was this just a routine maintenance thing or have you replaced calipers/master etc?
  12. It would create a boost leak yes. But the actuator would not see any boost pressure which would cause the turbo to overboost.
  13. R32 rails are the same.
  14. I have A31 rear seats in good condition for free. I'm in Brisbane
  15. Not to mention oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure. If there is oil in the coolant or vice versa then best bet is to lift the head.
  16. Well the only pro of not running a BOV would be less weight, less piping. Hardly see those as any gains to be had. Not going to debate the effects of turbo damage from lack of BOV. That is another topic. Basically, I'm just going to say there is no real benefit in removing the BOV. Just make sure if you have one that it is a plumb back.
  17. I live around the lytton road area, but I own a black coupe.
  18. Why would you bother getting a new fuel pump, a FPR and having it tuned when it's just a bandaid engine? Turn the boost back til you have safe injector duty, keep the standard FPR on, spent the saved money on your new engine?
  19. Location? Contact details? Does the diff have 6 or 5 bolt half shafts?
  20. Champ. Did you not get my PM's?
  21. Well the cefiro uses a drum in disc type handbrake, which rules out any silvia/200sx/180sx etc. Has to be from a skyline or some other model with the drum handbrake. Take a photo of the caliper and we'll be able to tell you if they are skyline brakes. The R33 and R32 rear brakes are the same size.
  22. Chris, every picture I find of double din kit has the cubby box in place of the factory pop up screen. Is it just a matter of specifying the fascia to suit the factory NAV or are they incompatible. If it's just as simple as specifying.... I have an '03 model (factory NAV), BOSE, dual climate control. Can you advise availability and price for a kit? (PM if need be).
  23. Digging up an old topic but... I'm looking at using the AV input because I don't want to remove the factory features. Being limited to RCA Composite video is making it hard to find suitable equipment. There are a couple options using S-Video and adaptor leads. I'm trying to avoid using something like a VGA converter box. Are there any options for patching a VGA (or similar) signal straight into the factory LCD screen?
