Hi there, I am getting a major clunk under my car - it feels like it's coming from the driver's side firewall or around the gearbox tunnel. I have changed the engine mounts and the power steering rack bushes. Pedders tell me that it is a ball joint on the drivers side; though I am thinking that it is probably a gearbox mount. I have had a mechanic look at the gearbox mount who reckons mine is ok; can the gearbox mount be rooted if it isn't split etc? Thanks, Ben.

na beast - where did you get your copy of the Nissan FAST program - is it on SAU or the internet?

Would that be as simple as soldering a wire onto the board that you have pictured - one end of the wire to either of the Cont 1 or Cont 2 points and the other end to the ground on the circuit board (I assume there is one, but can't tell from the picture that is posted)?

Hi guys, is it possible to do the engine mounts with-out an engine hoist; i.e. is it possible to jack the engine up from below - is there anywhere on the engine that would allow you to do this, for example at the bottom of the bell housing?

The description of repairing the master cylinder looks pretty straight forward in the manual (attached). I called Nissan and the rebuilt pieces are $180 dollars as you get the rubbers and the pistons as a set. A new complete master cylinder costs $643. Has anyone come across a rebuild kit that is cheaper than $180? Brake_Master.doc

I recently bought a Cuscu master cylinder stopper. NFI is right in that it does ot change the initial feel, but it did make it feel better under heavier braking. At $80 second hand it was worth it, though it does nothing for the initial feel. Get someone into your car hand have them put their foot down very hard on the brake - you will see your master cylinder step out a bit (mine was about 1cm). If you have them step on the brake pedal and hold it mid way down to simulate 'initial feel' you will see that the cylinder doesn't move at all.

I'd be real interested to see how much it costs to have the master cylinder resleaved; pipster11, look forward to your reporting back when you have looked into it!

Hi, I am looking for a set of new tyres for my V35 sedan. The car is driven as a family car by my wife - I would like to get something quite as the Yokohama DNA GP Grand Prix tyres on them there are fairly noisy. The tyres are 215/55/17. I have called around and people tell me that as long as the tyre is a premium touring (non performance tyre) that they will be fairly quiet. I am looking at $264 - Goodyear LS2000 $245 - Bridgestone Turanza ER300 $265 - Dunlop 230 Does anyone have any of these tyres - how are they?

I have had a stock silver -top RB20 turbo, a VG30 ball bearing and an RB25 Neo turbo on my RB20DET. I distinclty remember loving the VG30 when I put it on because it gave a fair bit extra kick; but it comes on far too late. I drove around for many years with this. About a year ago I went to th RB25 Neo which is a massive improvement over the VG30, the car feels just as fast but with much less lag; having said that I would prefer less lag from the RB25 Neo to the point where I would go to the Series 2 R33 RB25 turbo next time just on peoples' say so.

Go Rick Kelly; is the new Kelly team confirmed; one of the articles at www.v8supercars.com.au about the new 'fast' tyres said that HSVDT's driver Rick Kelly had tested the tyres; maybe that was last year..?
