  1. Hi all. I finished installing my Drift Motorsport steering bushes on my 32. I do notice the difference - the car feels more consistent on sweeping bends for instance. I did have a little trouble fitting them initially as I did not think they would fit in well, but with the pressure of the stirrups pushing on them during installation everything falls in place. Instructions from Drift Motorsport are below for people's future reference. Note that fpr point 4 in the first section I had to buy a new longer bolt (M12 x 1.25) as I couldn't get the stock one any where near close enough to bite. The two black bushes form a heart shape around the rack, on the drivers side. This shape is slightly at an angle, with the pointy end facing the front of the vehicle. Here are some steps for installing the black bushes for the drivers side. 1) Remove top bracket and old bush 2) Lift up the rack and place bushes in line with the shape on the rack, with the pointy end facing the front of the car. Don't worry if there is a gap between the two bushes, as the gap will compress once the bracket is bolted down. 3) Place the bracket over the rack with the bushes 4) Place the smallest amount of thread required to hold the bracket in place, on the bolt facing towards the rear of the car (ie: not the bolt near the engine, the other one). 5) Use leverage and compress the bracket down so that the front bolt can grab the threads and tighten it up about 3-5 threads. 6) Tighten the bolts evenly and ensure that the bushes are aligned in their right positions. Passengers side blue ring 1) Remove bracket and old bush 2) Clean surfaces with a rag 3) Place bush on the rack, with the split facing the rear end, where the two brackets separate 4) Tighten bracket evenly and to specification 5) If there is gap in the blue ring - don't worry as it is designed to have a gap there so that it can compress and clamp down. Factory bushes have this gap as well but it is harder to see as the bush and brackets are black. Thanks, Ben.
  2. I didn't see the Nismo ones at www.nengum.com or Unique Autosports. Do you know who sells them? How much did you pay?
  3. I took another look at it and found that it is not leaking from the washers, it is leaking from the top of the pinion housing where the steering staft joins the rack. Are there any threads around that go through the repair of this?
  4. BHDave, I went with the Drift Motorsport ones too, but I have found after alot of pushing that I can't seat the rack to seat properly. The new bushes seem to be too big to get the styrups over - the drivers side one won't even go around the new bush. Did you find that it was a very tight fit on the way back in? sam5709, how much did you pay for the Superpro bushes - Supercheap Auto quoted me $210 for the two which I thought was steep compared to the $80 delivered I paid D Project and the $35 that Nissan want for the stock ones (part numbers 54445-05U00 and 54444-05U0)
  5. Hi, ***EDIT*** I have noticed a leak from my power steering rack from the top of the pinion housing. I have looked in a workshop manual for Aussie 31, and it seems that there is a cover, then a seal - I assume mine is rooted. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? Does anyone know if the steering shaft comes away easily from the pinion housing? Thanks, Old topic - I can't stop a power steering leak on my R32 GTS4. The leak is coming from the banjo fitting on the steering rack that connects all the way back up to the resevoir. I have tried to replace the washers that came out of there (there was one each side of the fitting), however this has proven difficult. he washers that came out were brass with a slim rubber ring on the inside of each. They looked abit average as the rubber ring was not even the whole way around. I went to Pirtek to get some new ones, however the outside diameter of the washer was a bit larger meaning that the washer doesn't sit flush (the easher actually sits in a slight groove on the steering rack). I the got some new washers from Nissan which were the correct size, but did not have the rubber ring on the inside. Anyone had exprience with this? What was the result?
  6. I realise that this is a little old, but I am interested none-the-less. BHDave, you say that installation is the opposite of removal, but the removal process involved the old bushes falling apart! Do the new bushes slide on from each side? Does that mean you need to take the tie rod ends off? Alternatively, do the new bushes have a slit in them to allow the bush to simply slide onto the rack? Any info would be good. Also how long does the job take?
  7. Bump - still available
  8. Yep, sorry 'bout that! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/pi...html&hl=pit
  9. Hi there, I have a 2002 V5 350GT8 sedan. It has done around 36,000 km. Recently a PIT message has been coming up on my screen. Does anyone know what this means? I am assuming it is telling me that it needs a service. Can anyone confirm? Assuming it is for service, does anyone know how to make this message go away once the service has been done. I hope I am not the only person ever to have seen this screen!

  15. To finish this converstation off - I have installed my R34 GTT turbo. The swap itself was obviously simple. I think that the R34 turbo is better - there is more boost early on and the car feels alot more drivable, though I do miss the surge of power that came on with the VG30. Don't let me be a sook though, if you have an RB20 and you are looking for a cheap upgrade neither is a bad solution (the VG30 is in my opinion certainly better than the RB20 turbo), though I think that the R34 is the way to go.
  16. Do you have a pic of the Nismo chassis plate?

  18. No longer required - thanks. Hi, I would like an exhaust housing from an R33. I am happy to buy at the right price but would prefer to swap for an OP6 housing from an R34GTT or VG30. Thanks, Ben 0414 215 469
  19. I also have an OP6 housing from an R34GTT that I would like to swap for an R33 ex housing if you have one?
  20. Hi R33GOD. I have posted a pic. Let me know if you are still good.
  21. I have a VG30 turbo for sale (with the OP6 exhaust housing). I don't know how to confirm that it has a steel wheel. You can come and have a look at it if yuo are in Sydney.
