I also have a complete VG30 for sale for $150.
  2. Hi R33GOD, I am sorry I have not got a picture as yet - will post shortly.
  3. FYI - I bought my 350GT8 from Jap Link. They wanted $800 to install DVD and more (can't remember what the price of that was).
  4. Hi bloodsword27, are you suggesting that I take your R33 exhaust housing and in turn give you my larger housing + cash? I realise that you don't need the housing, but I am sure there is someone who would be happy to swap with no cash each way, both helping them with their high flow or minor power upgrade and me with my lag issue. Thanks for your interest though.
  5. Not a lot of action on this bad boy yet. To be clear, the OP6 housing on the R34GTT turbo is the same as the OP6 housing on the VG30 turbo which I am lead to believe from the Forced Induction forum is what you want when you are highflowing the RB25 turbo. I also understand that this is good for 5 - 10 KW, so if you have an R33 turbo and are willing to swap, this is a $0 upgrade for say 10kw. That is good value for money!
  6. Still want? I have a VG30 turbo with the OP6 housing for sale for $150. Thanks, Ben 0434 215 469
  7. No longer selling. Changed my mind - thanks! Item:OP6 exhaust housing from R34 GTT turbo Age:88,000 km Condition:Great Price:$300 or swap for R33 exhaust housing To Fit:Single turbo Skylines (originally from R34GTT) Location:Petersham, Sydney Contact:Ben 0434 215 469 Comments:I have bought an R34 GTT turbo for my R32 GTS4 (RB20DET) and would a smaller exhaust housing to remove some of the lag. Sorry, I have no pics, but it looks like a perfect exhaust housing with OP6 written on it.

    Vg30 Det

Hi, I have an R34GTT turbo with the OP6 housing. I am using it on an RB20DET which means that I am afetr the smaller R33 housing. Would you be interested in a swap (I am assuming you want to highflow an R33 turbo).

  10. Hi, I have an R32GTS4 with an RB20DET. I have bought an R34 GTT turbo which I hope to install shortly. The turbo I have bought has the larger OP6 exhaust housing. I understand from many other threads that using the smaller exhaust housing from an R33GST25T on my R34GTT turbo will be less laggy. My logic / thinking is - if an R33GST25T exhaust housing is smaller than an R34GTT exhaust housing which means less lag, would an R32GTST exhaust housing which is even smaller (that the R33GTS25T) be even less laggier? If so, would using the RB20DET ex housing mean any / much less power? Any help / advice would be ver much appreciated. Thanks, Ben.
  11. ok, I have bought an R34 turbo with the OP6 exhaust housing as it is a bargin. I am looking at acquiring a new exhaust housing via swap or buy - what should I be looking for, a. one from an R33 turbo because that is what everyone is telling me to buy because the ex housing is smaller than the OP6 or an RB20 housing because that is even smaller than the R33 housing, but the R34 compressor will off-set that with better flow?
  12. If the R33 exhaust housing is better than the OP6 housing because it is smaller - does that mean that an exhaust housing from an RB20 on an R34 turbo make it even better?
  13. I assume that an R34 turbo with an R33 housing would be the same / as good as an R33 turbo (assuming it were easier for me to get a hold of an R34 turbo)?
  14. Series 1 or 2 turbo. Where are you located?
  15. Is the difference between a series 1 and series 2 the same as an RB25DET Neo and RB25DET (not neo)?
  16. Thanks KeyMaker. Have you seen anything on teh forums about how to tell the difference between the R34 S1 and S2 turbos?
  17. Your turbo behaviour sounds exactly like mine (though I imagine yours comes on alot harder than mine). I don't mind my car when I am driving around that suburbs where there is less traffic etc, but I live in the inner west and traffic and lights etc. mean that I am never on full boost and makes the car a bit of a pig. I will continue using my ecu which is a Tilbrook Auto tune which I modded slightly at home with ROM Edit. I use an old 5-pot Apexi SAFC to make minor changes, but I haven't made any in ages.
  18. Thanks benl1981, so you are saying that all the RB25's are better than the VG30, but the R34 is at full boost about 300 rpm later than an R33?
  19. I don't know my R34's that well. What year did the R34 change over from series 1 to series 2? A series 1 vs. 2 R33 (the whole car - not the turbo) are easy to distinguisg from one another becaise of the face lift - is it the same with R34's? Alternatively, how do I tell the difference between an S1 and S2 R34 turbo? Thanks!
  20. I'm not sure - I guess that's what I am trying to figure out (as I want less lag and I am told that a larger exhaust housing = more lag). Cubes (above) has written that they are the same and Manwhore (on another thread) agrees.
  21. What you are saying is VG30 more laggy than R33 - Yes R34 more lagg ythan R33 - Yes R34 more laggy than VG30 - ? Is this based on the size of the exhaust housing?
  22. KeyMaker, Are you saying that a R34 GTt turbo would be more laggy than a VG30 turbo or more laggy than an R33 GTSt turbo? The benefit of the R34 turbo over the R33 is not that it is more power, rather, that it is newer.
  23. 89 Sil, what turbo are you going from (RB20 stock)? I am very interested to see how it goes - when are you think about making the swap?
  24. Hi there, I have a VG30 on my RB20DET R32GTS4. I am now tired of reaching full boost at / after 4,000 rpm and have decided to swap to an RB25 turbo. Searching through the forum I understand that the R34 GTt exhaust housing is the same size as the VG30. My understanding was that the lag was caused by the large exhaust housing which leads me to believe that this swap is a bad idea. I do however understand that the turbo core and compressor / compressor housing is 'better' in the R34 GTt turbo. I am interested on your thoughts as to whether or not this swap is worthwhile. After some reasearch I understand that a turbo from an R33 (eithe S1 or S2) will alleviate some of the lag. If the R34 turbo is a bad idea, I will go for a r33 turbo. Your thoughts?
  25. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, though I am in the throws of purchasing an R34Gtt turbo to replace the VG30 turbo currently on my RB20DET. I am trying to get rid of some of the lag. Will this help given that the R34Gtt shares the same exhaust housing as the VQ30?
