  5. yeah they do that.. but after seeing Katie in real action last weekend. all I can say is wow. So short background. I picked Katie up last friday after work, approx 9:30 pm to head up to shepp so we could help out at deca. She has been the medical officer when avalible for past couple years and I help where I can. about 50KM from nagambie we see hazard lights middle fo the road and I'm thinking FFS if this is a defect/booze bus going to be un impressed as I jsut want to be in bed. IN the mazda 3 so not worried about legalities at his point. as we pull up see a nice new FG G6 turo on it's roof in the middle of the highway. seems the guy swerved to avoid a wombat in the rain lost it, plouged though the trees in the centre medium flipped and ended up on the wrong side of the road. I've barely come to a stop and Katie is running over there I've grabbed the medical kit she prepped and followed. So you could see the skull on this dude so he not well. blood pissing out everywhere she takes care of matters, bossing tjhe cops aroudn when they turn up 15 min later. helping the ambo when they get there and sorting thigns out. anyhow dude prob should have died at least as far as the cops say. yet she is talking to him and his partner on the phone friday. 70 something stiches bit of reco work but he up and working again 1 week later... and yet she earns around 1/2 of me. so messed up.
  6. nothing like a good end to the year.!
  7. I hear you there
  8. so buy your car still need to do brakes tyres fluids. so buy car to save a windscreen repair...
  9. fark after last track day need oil filter windscreen rear rotors rear pads tyres reveresed oh and a diff as well. damn becauseracecar
  10. agree with you 100% I just thought I still had more to learn b4 I did management. Don't see the point of doing something if I'm not going to do it properly but I also love what I do, so that makes it harder. think I'll do what I'm doing till kids come along, then look some something I can spend more time at home with. then again the travel might be good to get some sleep!
  11. of a team of 15 ppl AFAIK i'm the lowest paid.. but you make a good point. I recon that employees put much more pressure on younger employees. I know I had much more pressure to prove myself 6-10 years ago. seems once you've "paid your dues" they jsut let you get on with your job. my big issue now is as far as being hands on and technical I've gone as high as I can. I've avoided management as much as possible but think there is where I am stuck heading next. or I can just stay where I am and travel the world??
  12. surprisingly well, but I did come to them very well organized. biggest + was to move to the job level/cash I want you need a few skill set. and my manager had rated me high in them all for my last performance review. been told there no budget this 1/4 but next one should be ok, and as that starts next month here's hoping. but really only thing caring about now is getting car ready for HH and heading up to Bathurst for shits and giggles.
  13. oh and lambos are cool and yes I am a bit older and been with the company for 12 years. But just saying never knock back a job jsut as you think x amount of $$ means social life will be bad. that said I have a asked for a payrise for the first time atm, and finding it interesting..
  14. I don;t know who you 2 been talking to. I don't classify myself as doing SFA when there work to be done I get it done. And get paid to match that. The only hit to my social life is when I have to travel for work. and in reality that only impacts my AU social life. hell worked paid for me to hit, Nurburgring, ocktoberfest, goodwood fest of speed, Mustang convertible thought the desert, oh and paid for me to get to this but I had to pay for the rental of this little toy. it's up to the person to set their work life balance. and just cos you hit some magical number do not mean you ahve to give up other things. hell when I was earning 42K early on was prob the biggest impact on my social life. shift work, and at one point 7 days a week for 3 months 15-16 hours a day.
  15. I have a BA XR6 and I'm hating it more and more every day. they don;t have the build quality of Jap/euro, just seem crude Things keep breaking, they are FKN huge to park. Cannot wait till after the wedding. new car time
  16. but 100K affords a very good social life..

  22. re work...right place right time, right skill set. I was a lucky prick end of story. been one company for 12 years next week. started bottom level support talked my way up since then. i've worked hard but been rewarded such as well so no complaints re track. I would be keen to see it go round...(more would love someone give me some keys to take one round.) i recon I could give run for your money on a track...straight line...i'm doomed against not just you...so many cars.
  23. you should ut them up for sale in jan....
  24. I has year 12 only... started uni, Chem eng, hated uni with a passion due to having no Fkn idea what I wanted at the end. I just did what ppl said, oh you has good results u should do blah. I grew up on a farm no idea what the options out there was. so thrown out of uni as I was bored, I got a job for a telco help desk in fact a couple desks up from paul33 did well, went to work for a dot com start up..showed some skills blah blah blah travel lots so I would like to say self made.. f**k I hope not as I will be going head to head with you!
