that said I'm not trying to complain about my job, I've been employed for a decent wage for 15 odd years. yes some days/weeks suck, tell me a job that doesn't next week is a cruisey week to catch up and will have change to drop into the local fabricator and hopefully get seat mount sorted and such in middle of the day. this makes up for the occasional shit day/s hell could be worse, growing up during calving season old man had to check on the heard every 2 hours max..for 2-3 weeks straight. still prefer what I am doing anyday. plus I get to wear cufflinks made out of a honda F1 car.

then you are very lucky, you prob also got to live at home till you were established. Till you experience it it's hard to imagine, even looking back on it I'm thinking nah surely it was not like that. but at the end of a day for me it was a choice, I could stay at home work on the farm (there not much else going on there) had plenty of spending money when I was young or sacrifice 3-4 years of living on next to nothing to now earn 2-3 times the max my dad ever did. but without things like bulk billing (and free BBQ lunches at uni now an then) I prob would not have made it. and the government would be earning far far less tax...

you missed made half office sick, who then reduced productivity further. reason my work give free private healthcare, at the end of the day it cheaper to pay for that than have some-one off work longer. eg I get billed out at 2500$ per day. if I can be back one day sooner then they profit.

I went for a number of years with not having 7$ spare. didn't have 7 kids, didn't smoke do drugs, had a beer maybe every 2-3 weeks if I could save the cash. Hell my computer was pieced together from what I found in hard rubbish. was a sacrifice I had to make to get an education and get a good job and not have to worry about anymore. Didn't have the luxury of being able to live with parents or get Gov hand outs. that 7$ would be more than my average daily food allowance. sure there are some who rort the system, and there always are, but there are more who are genuine cases. Exactly same as Victorian road laws. a few people being idiots brought about averaging cameras, speed camera and hoon laws..
