  1. That's the way Rach! I think the N/A team will put on a good showing I need to weigh the TODA flywheel that's in my rallycar. It's full of holes and feels a little too light for the 2ltr. Hopefully the new engine build will fix that. Funny thing tho, my road car (also RB20DE) eats the rallycar for breakfast under acceleration anywhere in the rev range and it still has the std flywheel. Rach, before you put they flywheel in do some standing sprints (you still have a timer thingy right?) and some more after. Want to see how the numbers change.
  2. tacker - love that colour! Mines in the panel shop right now too, as you can see, for a different reason!
  3. Hey sounds good. Dutton is a tarmac rally similar to a Targa isn't it? We've only got a handfull of guys running Skylines in that spec here. Most guys with money run the GT3's.
  4. Kept the foot in it the whole way, until it started heading for the bank, then I gave up and applied the brakes. Just needed more steering lock! Strong old things tho, once untangled I drove it out of the stage.
  5. Latest pics of my rally car from this weekend... 7 fence posts at 130km/h Damage report: Bent right rear suspension, looks like just the lower rear suspension arm The scratch (and small dent) on the rear guard Missing fuel filler cap (somewhere in a padock) Missing rear window (also spread across the paddock) Squashed fuel tank - surprised it's not leaking actually Bent wheel Broken headlight 7 fence posts (One thrown 15m into the paddock where the glass and petrol cap are)
  6. Finally, some more rally cars! Very cool Z. No one out here would dare rally a 240. Got any gravel shots?
  7. Lots of revs (I'm N/A ) and then apply a bit of brake. Seems to start off better in second, no axle tramp. I've never mastered the heal toe trick, gonna have to practice that tho.
  8. Rubbish, you'll be surprised what an RB20DE will do with some light mods. Don't just write them off.
  9. Hillclimbs vary. Most are tarmac these days but there are still a few gravel ones around. This one was about 3km long, but you do get longer. Also, there are plenty of sprints which can be flat/uphill/down, and vary in length up to about 10-15km.
  10. Not mine, but it's another rally Skyline from NZ. He's got a sweet FJ20 in it and bet me at the hillclimb where this was taken. I'm currently in the process of building more hp from the 'lil N/A, gotta beat him!
  11. Hmm, nasty. The car seems very loose in the back, even when not on power. What suspension did it have in it when you smaked the wall?
  12. Ah haa! That's what I want to see, using all the road and then some! Good to see you guys aren't scared to use the GTR for what it was built for, too many posers over here
  13. Hey hang on, the first car on the list here is a non-turb GTS! There seems to be a lot more Targa cars around here than I first thought. There's only a hand full here in NZ. Mind you, none of you have any gravel pics yet. The last gravel sprint I was at had two Skylines competing...and more in the build!
  14. NA, just stockies painted black so you can't see that the wheels don't match. Budget build remember!
  15. Just want to see what sort of Track/Race/Rally Skylines are around. Throw up some spec's if you want. No streeters please. This is my budjet build club rally car, setup for gravel and tarmac. -Just running a stock RB20DE until I build up another unit with some power. It's got adustable suspension, 6 point cage, harnesses etc and is fully race and road legal for around $6K NZ.
  16. Generally the N/A's only get a nasty rasp when they rus stainless rear mufflers without suitable mufflers further up the sytem. Mine runs all mild steel and standard bore diameter and sounds like this. http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/jswright/Scream.mp3 Ignuz, yours doesn't sound too bad at all for running a cannon. Good work.
  17. Cheers dude. The paint is 2 years old now, done about 30,000km since it was done. It's the factory colour, just with heaps of paint layed down and plenty of clear coat too. Standard R32 paint is actually see through, but mine looked fine after a good polish and wax back in the day too. Since your's is white it should come up good too. Had to put a pic with girlys in too
  18. I got a $1000 one with live WOF and Rego too. Obviously it's not the red one in the avatar. Payed $7K 7 years ago for that one... NZ is great for cheap R32's! Gettin through the work on that car Shaun, good to see.
  19. There's an R33 out here with that setup on it. N/A, RB30 block, 2.5 head, front facing plenium and custom 90mm throttle body, he made himself. (aviation engineer) The car ran 140rwkw I beleive, with plenty left in the tune. He never really bothered chasing any more power out of it, had plenty more potential tho. Seemed to have plenty of torque and didn't lack top end either. Can't quite remember 1/4 mile times tho.
  20. Heh heh, does aye. Don't want to do any more mods in case the noise goes away lol Strangely, my GTS rallycar with exactly the same mods doesn't make that sound.
  21. Why N/A? Well it was my first car 7 years ago, and now the reason is because it sounds like this....http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/jswright/Drive%20by.mp3 Love the look on peoples faces when they hear it More noise here Visit My Website
  22. What an animal passing manover! Did he take out the Falcon or what?
  23. I have a feeling the weight split is something horrendus like 70/30. I haven't done my weights yet, as I have some new suspension parts to install first. One of the local racecar fabricators doesn't think the weight split will be a problem, just have to get the weight jacking correct and the right spring rate. He suspected the rear would have to be set up very soft.
