  1. I know one of the cars you talk of is it that black R33 with some plate on it? If i go 3540 the .82 housing is a must. My friend has a 25 in a vl with similiar mods with the 3540 but it has a 1.06 rear on it. It ran 11.7 at WSID and its manaul. On the street this car has nothing below 4000rpm then this mass of power comes on and it breaks traction in 1st to 4th gear. This power is totally unusable as when it breaks traction he has to change up gears and the car goes absoloutly no where. It just fries the tyres. Its a fast car at the strip but on the street its just all over the shop. Ive heard really good things about the hks 30/37 and one guy in this thread has actually made near 300rwkw with this turbo. But the thing I have to consider also is that I want to get this turbo 2nd hand and cheap. 3540s are all over the forums on the net for 1300 or less. It is much harder to find a HKS 3037. Bezerkly can you guys tune power fcs? Is that black r33 that runs 11s man or auto?
  2. Thanks man I will be posting time slips and dyno charts when its finished.
  3. Hi im after a hks 3037 turbo with .87 rear housing. Also need a Z32 or Q45 AFM with plug cheers.
  4. Im starting to like the sounds of this hks3037 with .87 rear. Steve have you had the chance to run your car down the 1/4. I d be happy with 290rwkw on stock internals.
  5. I would like to know this question myself. Its hard when people are telling you two completly different ways. I think this is a question for the guru himself sydneykid.
  6. Decompressing the engine is a cheap and good idea, i hadnt thought of that, thx. Is there any difference in the HKS 3037 compared to the GT3037? I thought they were the same its just that HKS are more expensive. Appreciate all the positive comments and the people that actually read my 1st post and didnt try to cut my)throat. To the people that did you made an arse of yourselves
  7. Finally someone on these forums that knows what they are talking about, Cheers.
  8. No one told me I know the stock bov is good for that. I said A BOV IS A MUST ON A TURBO CAR.... Mates are not lying was their when the cars were dynoed, dyno is calibrated regulary. Their engine could be ready to go bang true i hope not though. So would it be fair to say that a constant 250rwkw is alot alot alot alot more safer than 300. The answer is obviously yes but is their that much of a stress on the engine putting that extra 50 kw into it
  9. Its street registered i guess i could pull out the rear seat.
  10. An 11 second pass would be nice paul. 300 was my figure because thats the kind of power you need to get an 11 do you agree? I dont think 250 rwkw in a manual would get you an 11 sec pass.
  11. Quinny I agree that tyres and suspension are a must for good times on the track. But thats not what this post was about. It was about which turbo would best suit making 300kw on the dyno. Once it makes that power i will run it mate. I want good ets as well.
  12. LOL, wake up. I read the posts you linked up and the information was vague to say the least. What is the point of having these forums if you cant even ask a question. Dissapointed to say the least.
  13. Quinny This has nothing to do with bragging rights. The question is simple. I want 300rwkw that my figure not for bragging rights thats what i want. Which turbo out of the two is going to be the better choice. You guys get biatchy on these forums quick, lmfao.
  14. Sorry didnt quite follow this. So you are saying that the internally gated GT3037 with a .63 rear will make 300rwkw with all the suporting mods?
  15. R31 That info helped a little cheers
  16. In reply to paul -Microtech has been chosen due to my tuners excellent tuning abilities with this computer system. -Have been told by exhaust specialist that 3" will be enough. -I agree on the internal comment you make. I do not have the funds to strengthen the internals, if it goes bang I will take it from there. But I know of mates cars that have made more that 300 on stock internals. -Plenum has been changed for more airflow and effiency. Also to reduce intercooler pipe length, which in turn reduces lag. -Silly question from you here... BOV is a must for high psi applications or any PSI for that matter. -tripple plate clutch is installed so no worries here. -tyres and suspension are not relevant in making power on a dyno. -Cold air intake is installed. Thanks Paul
  17. Cannot go RB30DET I am sticking to the RB25DET. What do you mean about exhaust to small? On the turbo or the actual exhaust? A 3inch exhaust is more than enough.
  18. Hi guys I tried searching the forums but to no avail. I need some advice on which of these two turbos to go for. Considering my goal is to reach 300rwkw and to minimize as much lag as possible. The turbo choices are either a GT3540 with a .82 rear or the internally gated GT3037 which has a .63 rear on it. The car is a R33gtst and the mods are as follows :- standard internals 3 inch exhaust tomei pon camshafts FMIC BOV standard exhaust manifold microtech comp 044 fuel pump malpassi reg surgetank 600cc injectors plenum with 65mm throttle Eboost2 I think thats everything. Well everything needed to support the turbo reaching 300rwkw is on the car. So come on guys whats your thoughts on these turbo choices or am i picking the wrong turbos for the job?
  19. Ill give you $200 for the 044 and ill pay postage let me know.
  20. What power are these good for? Are they good for 500hp atw?
