I have 255 40 17 on rear and 235 45 17 on front. The surging isnt there when the vehicle is cold and its not there when the car has warmed up either unless i have accelerated hard. It seems to surge alot more after my first initial hard acceleration. If i am very easy on the throttle the whole time i drive the car it will hardly surge after i boot it. it starts surging. I have bled the system which made it slightly better but now my torque gauge reads at about 8 when cruising at 110 where as before i had any surging problems the gauge only read between 3 and 5. Hello, I have recently purchased an R32GTR and at very slight throttle cruising at 100-120 the car surges and when it surges the torque gauge bounces very slightly from what looks like 3% to 5% My vaccuum reads about 2-4 inches of mercurywhen this is happening. Also at cruise in a GTR is 2 to 5 InHg of vaccuum correct. I have owned 3 previous skylines all gtst's and 2 180's and at cruise they have all read 10-15 inches at 100-120 kmh. Is there that much diff between the RB25 and RB26. Thanx in advance. Michael...

Hi peoples i recently bought an R32 GTR and was told it had an R33 GTR eng in it. The eng number has been changed but how do i tell if it is an R33 RB 26. From what i understand the R33 is stronger than the R32 RB26 and the standard 33 eng can handle more boost. Thanx Michael...

They probably said it was ok because it was ok on the dyno. They cant match exact load on the rollers as your car will have on the street. Especially if you use a bleed valve and you are already doing 4500 rpm plus (which is when most peoples turbo is making boost) and you floor it the boost will spike higher than what the vehicle was tuned at. Some tuners dont allow for this when they are tuning but in their defence some turbos and boost controllers dont work that well either. You can correct it each time you drive by going in to settings scoll down to ign/inj press next, there will be a 0 highlighted next to the 0 says adj i think, arrow down twice and it should say -2 then press back until your on your monitor screen. This will take out 2 degrees of timing through the whole map. Once you turn the car off the ecu will go back to normal settings so this will need to be done every time you start the car. This will work until you have the timing removed from the area that is the problem. Thanx Michael...

you might need to use the map tracer and freeze the tracer when your knock waring light comes on. Then you need to go into settings and reduce the timing in the area you froze the tracer. Start by taking out 1 degree at a time. Im sure if you did a search in the FAQ section there would be a step by step instuction of how to do it. Thanx Michael....

i have a 32 gtr which knocks to 30 under minimal loads such as cruising and at no throttle when eng braking. Under wide open throttle it doesnt go over 30 but if i add timing the car will ping quite noticably for a split second but the knock level doesnt go over 30. My conclusion is a dodgy knock sensor. Ive had 3 power fcs in 3 previous cars and never have seen this before. Oh and the eng is quiet at all times except ticking injectors. That might help Thanx michael..

Hi guys and girls, Im selling my series one R33 GTST. I have just bought a second house and a new shape turbo forester for the missus to drive. Doing this means i have to sell my car. I bought this car approx 8 months ago off this forum for $15600 in pretty much standard form and have since spent $3250 not including fitting of parts, maintenance or tuning. All servicing and maintenance has been done buy me. Im a nissan technition in brisbane so have always serviced my car at work (nissan dealership) wit h all genuine parts. Vehicle is serviced every 5000kms and will be handed over to new owner freshly serviced with RWC. R33 series 1 1993 M spec 138,000kms HKS GT 25/35 turbo kit. HKS intercooler kit Apexi power fc with hand controller. JIC coil overs fully reconditioned. They have been machined and had KYB inserts fitted. They are the softest coil overs ive ever experienced. They wont make your teeth fall out. Nismo fuel pressure regulator. Walbro 500hp fuel pump. XForce 3.5 inch from turbo back exhaust. 17 inch wheels with near new tyres approx 6000 kms old new endless brake pads approx 8000kms old Kenwood cd/mp3 player wth sony speakers in doors and parcel shelf. Excedy heavy duty clutch approx 20,000kms old. Keyless remote and immobiliser/alarm. Car made 243kws @ the wheels on 15.5 psi. With this turbo it made good usable power early. Car is in excellent condition with no problems at all. This car doesnt use a drop of oil between services and does an average of 440 kms per 46 litres. This is a combo of highway and city driving. could possibly be your mapping in the ecu. The tuner might not of allowed for that much load for little rpm. Cheers Michael...

That will only work when the car is missing at idle. Coil packs generally fail under load to start with.
