  1. We have a choice? Just cars need to start supplying lube with there yearly bill so it doesn't hurt as much when they shaft us Unless of coarse your an oldy, in that case some of the other companies might give you a go. Check this thread for what other people use - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t=0&start=0
  2. Insight at 7:30 pm I'm in WA so I can tape + youtube it
  3. Get the R32 and with the money you save, mod that mofo!
  4. I'm thinking about it... but I'd have to part with some drinking/car mods money haha Whats the latest we can rsvp?
  5. Its a bitch to do because the R33 eprom that needs to be changed is a surface mount component. Its possible, its just a pain in the ass to do if you don't have the right equipment i.e. surface mount reflow station
  6. Check you haven't melted your cat. I'm pretty sure mine is now clogged after a bit of a high speed workout and I've got the same problem. I'm going to hollow it out today and see if it fixes the problem EDIT: Just gutted my cat and the car is boosting like normal again. Only now it missfires My plugs are old so there getting changed soon and that should fix it completely
  7. What are the Federals worth? I read somewhere that there only $200 a corner or there abouts
  8. I think I read somewhere that you need an independent air supply to breathe from for spraying 2pac paints because they contain isocyanate's. Pretty nasty stuff when you think about it. Google will probably turn up some more info. Have you got any pics of your previous work? I'm still a pay check away from having the money to start collecting gear
  9. I wonder what the silicon content is?
  10. Judging by the numbers, they look like re badged KKR's. Come to think of it... where are KKR's made? They have a rep of being cheap and nasty but they still work. There a sort of 'mid range' product by ebay standards. 'low end' would be OMG 500hp FOR YOUR VL FULLSICK bound to explode products. 'mid range' would be KKR's and equivalents high end would be your garrets, HKS etc. The problem is telling low from mid range products... which ebay is notoriously shit for
  11. Thats what I was thinking, they all use plain bearings because they're cheap but still do the job. Shit hits the fan with any turbo that doesn't have a proper oil supply. Who's going to be the first to vouch for one them?
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=154515 13k for a build motor, you could bolt up some larger turbo's + labor for less than 20 grand if you tried It's what jesus would do
  13. If there is only two games, what happens if you get shot straight away? I'd want to be on bubba's team... he looks pro with that marker
  14. http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/access/freeTrial.html Enjoy!
  15. Looks good You can see in the pics how it still looks a little rough from the flake, should look mint by the time you finish. I need to start searching for equipment now I have a job to pay for it all
  16. Well done, looking forward to pics What compressor did you use? Where did you think you went wrong?
  17. IIRC the XR6T has a 14.1 sec stock quarter mile time and the R33 has a 14.4. But then you have to realize that your comparing an 18k car to a 35k car. Likewise the XR6T is newer, and should have alot better tech crammed into it and less K's on the clock. 4L vs 2.5L. Large curb weight vs medium curb weight. 4 door vs 2 door. Auto vs manual. At the end of the day, its still a Ford and thats why it loses. (at least in my opinion) FYI, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=80479
  18. I love your hanywork! What welder are you using? (brand/model etc)
  19. Great info frogman! Exactly what I was after Do you know of any sites that have a catalog of all the different types of paint/pearl/flakes etc ? I'd love to see the kind of effects you can achieve... I'm keen to get spraying now
  20. The general consensus from pretty much all fuel based threads is - Injector cleaner - Cleans injectors, cheap fix Decent fuel - explanatory Reset ECU - prevents the car from running on knock maps from crap fuel Clogged cat - creates restriction, car runs crap Vacuum leak - causes car to run crap Spark plugs - wrong rating can cause crap economy Oxygen sensor - if dead causes crap economy Injector stuck open/faulty - causes excess fuel to be dumped I might have missed a few, but just keep going down the list till it fixes the problem
  21. Cheers for the advice Can anyone give any insight into what colors/paint-types you can spray? Since you not supposed to spray 2-pack paint does that mean you can't do any metallic colors or does it just affect how long the paint will last?
  22. See, I come highly recommended I charge in at least 5 minute blocks though, otherwise I'd make no money off Sam
  23. I'll do it.... I'll even walk you through it if you want PM me with details
  24. Hey all, I'm looking at getting into automotive spray painting just as a hobby and am looking for advice on how to best get into it. First thing is equipment... I was thinking of just going second hand for the compressor. Is there a certain CFM or pressure I need? Is there a minimum size tank I need? From what I've seen, entry level spray guns aren't that expensive. Will a cheapy do to begin with? Is it worth doing a short coarse or just get some cheap paint and practice? I'm not looking at doing an entire car, just some side skirts and possibly my front bar as a start. Can I spray the same color/type of paint as stock? I've read before that OEM paints are 2 pack which you can't spray at home due to nasty chemicals in them. Could I get the same thing in acrylic? Thanks
