    What A Day!

with damage like that? it's a good bet the dog gets put down and yeah, depends how big an asshole you want to be, the owners are completely liable for the damage
  2. haha asif you are
  3. happy birthday afro =)
  4. went through glorius about 2 months ago and it was covered in loose bitumen we simply assumed it was through lack of use?
  5. damn, excellent pics =D
  6. Yep i will. I dread the option they're going to get a stock bar minus fog light fittings and butcher that instead to make them fit. Ugh
  7. HAH I thought so. Also how'd you guess the insurer and the assessment centre? =) They've been ok, it's more the auto repair shop they chose which are giving me the huge run around. I refuse to believe it's going to take them another 5 weeks.
  8. Sam33 is taken? Whoa
  9. *sigh* This saga has been continuing for too long now. First things first, i hit a kangaroo (unavoidable, dont even worry about THAT dicussion i've had a million times) and it hit the sweet spot on my car to: - destroy a headlight - a fog light - nearly rip the front kit off and crack it - bent front right quarter panel - munched the wiper reservoir and controls - munched the battery without puncture - and somehow gouged my radiator, which is why the car ended up on the tow truck =/ It took a week to get the car towed to the assesors, then to an insurer nominated panel repair place, then it took another week for the yard to call me and ask me to come down to sign a form because they refused to fix the fog lights because it wasn't stock. That was a huge argument because i refused, i wanted my car returned to the condition it was in, but aparrently they didn't do the repairs. So i told them to outsource the repair to the ricer yard i originally nominated to fix my car, and returning it to stock wasn't an option. Fun, i had no idea the fogs on my 34 weren't stock, they looked professionally done, inside and out. It's now taken another week for the insurer to contact me to let me know that it will be another 5 weeks, to total 8 weeks now, to have the parts from japan, and return my car. (Oh and the panel yard have agreed to do the fog lights after being told to do so by the insurer, funny that, i thought they couldn't do the repair?) To give an idea of parts, it's not like it's a whole new engine or anything. It would be a new radiator, front bar, fog light, washer res and a handful of screws at the most, the rest is panel work =/ Really really upset right now, is this acceptable? Anyone else had to deal with this kind of timeframe? Edit: For the curious: The superficial damage, post-zipties ps. not me in the picture =P
  10. yup like the rest of the thread: Department of Transport will not defect a pod filter if it is chassis mounted and secured. Cops will try to defect your pod if they get under the hood, so you're allowed to fight this. Just don't piss the copper off or he might find something really wrong with your car.
  11. 4 door? might have been me as i was in that area around that date, but it's going back a while now, can't remember =P
  12. that's cool, i'm glad you didn't get defected as for timed runs on public road, shrug, it's a really nice road and hard to duplicate at professional tracks it's not like i push things stupidly, it's just a fun back way up to the lookout more or less =)
  13. Now this information probably won't affect most of the people on this board, since milton is a hoon hangout for bogans in commodores and wankers and overriced pieces of crap on a thursday night. However, Occasionally I find myself at Milton just as a landmark for hooking up with other folks before moving on, in this particular case I was waiting for Firefrog to meet up so we could go for a couple hot laps up coot-tha. Pulled into the servo and saw 4 bikes and 3 cars belonging to the boys in blue. Also saw an SAU sticker on a nice grey r33, so i waited around for the owner to show up so i could introduce myself. The member in question was boosted33 and his mate with f**koffcrazyshit under the hood of his Astina. We hung out, laughed at guys popping their BOVs right next to the cops, then doing not one, not two, but four laps past milton making noise and then laughed even more when the cops pulled them down a side street for 30 secs then cops came out and headed right, and car goes left. Watched this happen 3 more times wondering wtf. Firefrog turned up and not 2 minutes later, our suspicions were confirmed as a bike cop came up and said boosted33 and firefrog had to follow him to a Dept. of Transport defect station. boosted got out before frog, and frog didn't get any defects (lol) so i'm hoping he's ok =) So yeah, Milton these days is crawling with police using it as a honeypot to defect people. Advise to stay the hell away for a few months. edit: Also did a recon lap of coot-tha first at fairly decent speed, but didn't see anything, stopped at the top briefly then came around to do the proper lap. Had to wait in a parking bay at the bottom of the hill to wait for a 4wd to come out that we saw go up from the lookout, and next thing we see is a piece of crap corolla being chased by police and pulled over. Decided it was a good time to do my lap now (and wondered why they didn't ping me last time) and pulled off a decent time. Coming down the hill the cops had pulled over the 4wd down near the planetarium. Looks like Milton->Coot-tha is alllll evil on thursdays.
  14. oh god i'd love to be at this but roadtripping to sydney for the weekend sounds like a well organised thing too (actually elios would be, they get booked the hell up all the time) so afraid i wont be able to gatecrash if i happen to be back in brisbane by sunday evening we must do this particular venue again =)
