Hi guys I need to borrow, rent or buy a stock R33 catback to pass EPA. I don't think I'm gonna pass with my current 3" catback. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

For sale full set of original R33 GTR wheels with tyres. As you can see from the photos they have a fair bit of gutter rash but still look hot. One pair of tyres has about 3mm of tread left before the markers, others are at the point of needing replacing. Asking Price: $800. Not accepting swaps. Location: Ramsgate, NSW (near Kogarah, south Sydney).

For sale full set of original R33 GTR wheels with tyres. As you can see from the photos they have a fair bit of gutter rash but still look hot. One pair of tyres is only a few months old with loads of tread, other pair still has a fair bit but with some camber wear and not as much. Asking Price: Swap for original/other R33 GTS-T compatible wheels with tyres $650. Otherwise $800. I don't currently have another set of wheels to put on it so I'd really prefer a swap. Location: Ramsgate, NSW (near Kogarah, south Sydney).

So I'm thinking of selling my R33, but I'm not really sure if it's worth fixing some paint damage. What do you guys think? Am I better off spending the money to fix to improve sale value? It's mainly the rear bumper that has damage but also the front-bar has some damage. It's a 1996 / R33 GTS-T Series 2 / 130000km. Thanks!

I have a friend who lives at West Pennant hills, she is looking for a trustworthy, honest mechanic to service her BMW. I think she might feel a bit funny going to a "performance" workshop, and I get the feeling they would probably be a bit pricier. Any recommendations? Cheers

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
bombastic replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Does anyone else have anything to add with long term use of the cheap chinese coil packs? I'm leaning toward getting a set of the yellow jackets but wondering whether it's worth spending a little extra on Splitfires. It would suck to have a $400 set fail a month out of warranty!! -

Does the washer bottle include the pump? If so I'll take it. Otherwise, how much for the pump? -

I get 10.5L/100km (~ 600km/tank). Urban driving mostly 60km/h zones. And I open it up a fair bit. Mods: R34 SMIC, full exhaust, 10psi. Strange so many seem to be getting only 400km/tank?

Bilstein Shock Absorbers

Are these the same as the GB ones? E.g. do they have the circlip grooves for height adjustment? Sydneykid also says something about his coming with "matching valving for those spring rates"... do you know anything about this, as I'd probably be getting the rest of the gear through the GB if I got these from you. Thanks -
Alternator Not Charging Without Instrument Cluster?
bombastic replied to bombastic's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Yes please Chris if it's not too much trouble! Would be lovely if I could drive to uni tomorrow instead of wasting hours mucking around with public transport I'll PM you my email address. Interesting... I'm not sure if this is true of the 33, cause I had it revving at 4-5000 rpm to stop it from stalling at one point, and it was misfiring *a lot*... I'm thinking if the alternator was running this would not have happened. -
I've had to send my instrument cluster away for repair, and the day after I noticed the battery went flat quicksmart. Checked the voltage when the car's running and it was 12 point something, so clearly the alternator isn't working, and a bit of googling leads me to believe that something in the instrument cluster enables the alternator. So, my question is, does anyone know if there's an easy workaround to turn the alternator on? I can only drive about 40km's before the battery goes dead

Gearbox Oil Showdown
bombastic replied to rbee25's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I put Castrol VMX80 in rb25det box and it's not great. Doesn't crunch, but doesn't shift nicely - not sure if notchy is the right term. I did have the car on stands when I filled it, but surely the small angle wouldn't make much difference? Should I try a different oil, or put in a tube of Nulon G70? Edit: Put some Nulon G70 in today. Will give it a few hundred km's and see how much difference it makes. -
