  1. if i had not had my haltech installed by allstar and tuned, just left stock, i would probably still be with them (it is pretty hard to mess up a standard cars service), but after the ecu was installed and tuned incorrectly i have never been back, the people i am with now has a full disclosure policy and last service i asked if i could watch over the bloke who was doing the service on my car so i could learn a bit more about my car and pick the guys brain about skylines in general and they were only to happy to let me. incidently getting back to allstar i later found out that richo had tuned my haltech to run so rich that it melted my high flow cat which partially blocked my exhaust severely limiting performance and exceleration, as a quick fix i had it gutted so for a while i had a 3 and a half inch straight through exhaust which sounded amazing, but illegal so i had a stainless steel high flow cat installed to fix that, it is quiet but at least i can have a incar conversation now. have a happy easter guys!

  3. i already have a haltech e11v2 with a few engine mods that works fine for my car i was just wondering if you were shooting for about 200-240kws and only went as far as a conversion and a remap with some mild mods would the standard ecu be safe and reliable?
  4. is it possible to run a r33 gtst after having the turbo high flowed and steel wheeled but still using the standard ecu?

    thanks for aupports guys i still have not completely made up my mind yet i have looked at a few sites and found a few good aristos i am going to test drive one on teusday so i will see how it goes if i like it then i will have to find some one to sell my skyline to, keep the opinions going though i need all the advise i can get at the moment

    when it comes to the interiour i can have it reapholsterd change the stearing wheel and put the gizzmo's i have in my skyline into the aristo it wont be bland after that lol i wonder if aristo's are stolen just as much as skylines? i am always worried about that when i am at the shops or in the city. i want a gtr 34 but until i save up my penny's i have to think of the family

    hey all its been a while since my last post but i have tryed to get online when ever my missus will let me we have decided to start a family after our wedding next year and it has been brought to my attention that a family car preferably with 4 doors would be a good idea. i have seen the toyota aristo around town and i have been told they come in twin turbo form but are still a comfortable family car cruiser any opinions would be greatly appreciated. i have only been using my skyline to go to work and back home again so i think this might be a good comprimise.
  11. i go to work pretty early in the mornings and have had the same kind of experiences with contractors and the like always in a rush to get to work and dont mind using what ever they can get there hands on to intimidate you, fortunatly enough the way to work is almost empty so i just floor my ride and dont stop until i am safely at work with my car out of site. now you might say this tactic is illegal and dangerous and it is but i think it is reasonable action to avoid a potentialy life threatening situation, no one wants a crow bar up the back side, my advice is dont stop, dont give them an inch, dont give them a reason, if he pulls out a crow bar you pull out your club lock, know the locations of the local police and call ahead because they wont be there to help you when these nut jobs get out of there cars and come at you. thats my two cents anyway.

    thats $1.50 per litre for regular unleaded expect anywhere from 10-25 cents more for premium guys and thats conservative. dont you just love it when a bug farts in one country and the smell finds its way over here?.......silly yankies.
  16. hi everyone i have also had a bad experience with allstar and i have also posted my story on this fine forum we have here but apart from telling our stories and hopefully warning each other about the less reputable tuners out there is there actually anyway to report bad tuners? i mean dont get me wrong here this is not a personell thing anymore my skyline is running perfectly now having gone through 4 performance shops trying to find the right tuner but is there anyway to get some justice? instead of just complaining to each other, although it does warn each other but how do we warn these so called tuners that they need to lift their game or the authorites will be on there doors asking questions?

    i would like to see what these reporters drive in and have they ever actually gone on a ride along with these so called hoons? i would offer my ride in a second to escort one of those hot little reporters for a night on the town then they would see ratings, but i guess they just dont have they guts to be real reporters and get all the facts from both sides...

  19. all star performance tuning are located just a few doors away from them unless they have moved to, richard who owns all star performance tuning is very good mates with jason at custom carbon you might find some more answers there as well.

Hi all this topic has probably already been covered but i was just wondering where the best place to have my turbo high flowed and upgraded to a ball bearing steel wheel was? also how much and how long it usually takes to have it done my skyline is a r33 gts25t series one. thanks for taking your time to reply.
  21. my car origanally made 500kms to a tank until i had a new ecu placed in my car it now makes around 300km a tank on a good day the problem is the tune which is being fixed at the moment by another tuner who knows what there doing and have it tuned for economy, 300kw is great but you will start to hate your car when you see that fuel bill

First off i would like to say thank you to every one for their replies to the problem i have posted for all to see my story resumes last week when i picked my car up from all star tuning at geebung i payed the money that was asked of me i asked if the cold starts where fixed he said he had started it up and it seemed to run fine but had warned me that something did not feel right about the car and that i might want to look at an rb30 bottom end soon as he said the engine was getting on in km but it was not something to worry about at the moment taking that at face value we went our seperate ways the car did indeed seem fine it handled just like it had done after picking it up the past couple of times lots of power tonnes of nm's nice and smooth went home went to sleep started the car up in the morning and what happened.......the same exact garbage that i had takin the car to have fixed in the first place revs dropping and stalling and this time there was even one heck of a flat spot in acceleration (thank god at least some truckies have good brakes)(when the car is warmed up these problems go away) . understandably upset i did not call richard, after listening to the advice of this forum i took the car to another well known tuner, after a couple of minutes talking to him face to face i decided to leave my car with him over night for exactly and aggreed upon two hours work in the morning. that morning i recieved a phone call from the business owner asking me where i thought my high and low boost settings were at i told him 8 at low boost and 12 at high boost i also told him that the cops in my area frown upon speeding so i had not had a chance to test my car out. leaving the conversation there i decided to go and pick my car up (taxi driver are an odd race of people but i did notice his car had done 580,000kms which is cool i thought at the time.) arriving there i met the owner in his office and he proceeded to show me his dyno print out and compared it to that of all star tuning performance at geebung a number of f words were said he also told me i was not runing 12 pounds of boost on high boost i had been tuned to run 22 pounds of boost which even i know means suicide for my car (many ,many more f words!) he said the tune was not fixed completely but it was running far better now on 12 pounds and that i was lucky i had not pushed my car i was happy to know that 45 extra horse power had somehow found there way into my car and my nm's had the same story with a healthy increase. i then asked him about the cold starts he said it was not fixed because he did not have enough time on the cold starts but there is a deffinate improvement in warm up proceedures (oh my god an honest mechanic?). i then asked him if he had found the problem as to why start up was so bad and you know what he actually had an answer for me (shock horror) he said the tuner noticed the problem as soon as he started the car in the morning leaking injectors it turned out to be easily fixed and a heck of a lot cheaper to fix. he also comented on the state of tune of my haltech which he said was shocking 22 ponds through a ceramic turbo! when i only wanted 12. ... so goodbye allstar performance tuning at geebung thanks again everyone for your help my round of drinks if i ever catch up with you all
  23. you might not understand what i am talking about without going over what i wrote in the last topic i posted but i will tell you what has happened any way so we all know what has been happening since. I left every one who saw my post and replied to it saying i was taking my car to all star performance tuning at geebung to have some bugs ironed out that i noticed had been occuring, these bugs were. -my cold starts being shocking or the engine stalling. -my feul pump (walbro) is making to much noise and i think is the reason for my shocking cold starts. -after starting my car and the engine goes to idle two things can occur #1 if left ideling long enough the revs will drop and bounce around until the car warms up which takes a very long time, or #2 i will try to move the car taking my foot off the clutch as you would normally do then the cars revs would go down drastically and would stall. -while driving every thing is fine if i ever own a ferrari i want i want it to sound and drive like my skyline. -when i come to a stop however is the problem, when i go into second gear i am coming to a stop i then put the clutch in slow down a little more and while i am waiting the revs fall all the way to zero and the car stalls, which as far as i am concernd is quite dangerouse scary and a load of bs. I told richard this and we decided i should bring it into the shop and that he would have it soughted in an hour. I was quoted for one hours work between $90-$130. On monday afternoon i handed my car over and asked if he could look at, -my apexi rev speed timer which had stopped working after my first service at all star performance tuning. -if he could find a replacement screw for my hks ssbov. -and if he could see if my apexi turbo timer could be brought back to life (it had stopped working a long time before i knew richard at all star tuning) he said that would be fine if i could just write it done on a job sheet for him so he wouldnt forget which i did, waved good bye and left for home. had a great sleep woke up at 0830 decided to wait until lunch to see if it was alright to pick my car up,.............the answer was no (this should have been my first clue). I hung up and went about relaxing until 3pm i rang again asking if it was ready yet the lovely receptionist got richard on the phone who told me he was still working on the extra things i had mentioned i said no worries your the boss it was only going to be 90-130 dollars he replied no it wont we have done a bit more work than that i asked him how much it would cost he says he wouldnt know until he was finished i said i hope it isnt to much (having payed my bills and rego) i only had $400 and this was already budgeted he said thats fine i usually hold onto the cars until the bill is payed (you could not have hurt me more if you had cut my balls off with that response) i told him i was only quoted $90-$130 for an hours work and then asked how much it would cost thinkin he had the car for a 9 hour working day at $90 times 9 i was looking at $810 he said he would call me back with a price as soon as possible we hung up and i stewed no car for me means no job no job means no money no money means, you get the idea where i am going. two minutes to five i get a call from the receptionist with the price of my work it wasnt between $90 or $130.........it was $264. ..........now i am a very nice guy i have no reason to go back to all star performance tuning i know........but i still will i still think he is a good guy, all the work he has ever done on my car was done flawlessly there is no denying that he is a great guy on one occasion he gave me a lift home when he didnt have to maybe he was just to busy to tell me the extras i asked him to look at would cost extra maybe he forgot. I am picking the car up tommorrow i will tell you how it goes. this whole day has left me shaken not stired sorry for writing so much but i had to tell some one........what do you think i should do now?

  25. thank you for all your replies i am taking the car in next week and i will try to replace the screw in my bov that went walk about (any ideas about where to get a replacement would be great) look us up if your ever in strathpine
