  4. i am also keen, still have to figure out who i am going to take it to for the tune. i wouldnt go an rb25 if someone paid me , if the car becomes a track dedicated car later on maybe a 26 until then the 20 all the way.
  5. Hi, history of the car first. Car was imported here in 2006 by a guy around the corner from me, he got it registered (has engineers certs for most mods) drove it around for a little bit then had it taken off the road where it sat until i bought it 1.5 - 2yrs ago. car was equipped with a tdo6ls2 and a proposed (never been able to confirm as engine has never been opened and it has been great to drive) rb22 stroked engine. it got dynoed with a around the 220rwk mark with a hks fcon pro computer. The computer was changed to a power FC because most people over here don't have alot of experience tuning them and it came out with a very healthy petrol economic (450-500km a tank) 270rwk tune. it was believed that this car was either a part of or the owner was a big fan of skidline underground drift group from japan. with all the stickers it had on it and the quality suspension and handling mods it came with. The Car got a full respray in a custom orange (bright in the day) and mandarin kind of colour at night. wheels got re painted silver also. The Inside was pretty much stripped and didnt have many panels or interior trim, so i set about hunting down the stuff and was lucky enough to find most of it from members of sau. It also had no sound system, i managed to buy a pop out dvd player of a forum member for 300 bucks and bought some speakers and some amps and a sub all to go with it to have some very nice sound. The only thing mechanically wrong with the car when i bought it was it had a clunking sound coming from the diff, so seeing as i had half cut from a ex hks gtr demo car with front and rear cradles lying around the side of the house i decided to put the gtr rear diff in, and what a beauty it was all custom and built to handle a good 800hp engine combo the car had. it has been in the car ever since and it has been so nice to drive, when it breaks traction it is very stable and much more enjoyable to drive then my locked diff in my sigma lol pics of the car when i got it. when i first got it without the front bar. front corner lights were faded, so later i changed them over to smoked ones i bought of ebay and have been great ever since practically brand new r33 series 2 seats, when i pulled them out and upgrade to r33 gtr seats. shots of all the interior trim peices i was missing the front and rear diffs from the half cut. the engine bay as it used to be before all the parts got taken off. crack in the front bumper is a result of lending your brother the car getting some new tyres eneki circular rims before they got powdercoated a few pictures from mates cars, had a gtr boot and wing in black that i had lying around from a previous skyline so i thought i would put it on for a bit of fun, didn't look half bad but i didnt realize that i didn't connect the wires back up and it stayed on for a while until i had time to call a locksmith who didnt end up getting it off. i crawled in through the back and did it.. yes you can get in to the boot lol R33 gtr seats in the car, made the car look alot better, very snug and hold well through corners and much better for taller people as the rails sit lower and my head doesn't skim the sunroof anymore. fast forward a year or 2 and you have present day. about 6 months ago i noticed a slight leak in the manifold gasket, i let it go for a while becasue the car was being used as a daily and it wasn't that bad (or so i thought). I was going to get my brother to fix it but he was busy with work and his job was uncertain as his boss and my mechanic had decided to shut up shop unfortunately. fast forward a few months and coming home one afternoon from shellharbour i lost all power and the car wouldnt spool the turbo or hold boost at all. i dropped it off to get it looked at to find that the exhaust manifold had split in half lol. apparently the manifold rusted over and became weak and allowed it to split in half. i expect the fact that it sat around for 3-5 years doing nothing may have had something to do with it also. So i did a quick ring around to find out who can build or source another one. i decided to go against getting another greddy manifold as i didnt want it to split again as i read up that stainless steel was prone to do this. Thus 2 options came up. 6boost or quickspool. I rang both and at the time i believe it was just before powercruise in queensland so 6boost was understandably busy. Will Tobin on the other hand from Quickspool answered my call the next day and i discussed what i wanted. the next day i shipped my turbo, wastegate and broken manifold off to Will and the process had begun. The reason i sent the stuff up was because i was trying to minimize any custom work and get Will to fabricate one to be as close to the other as possible so it could just be bolted back in. A phone call from will a few days later suggested that the merge collector wasn't going to be able to sit in the same place and some customization of bringing the turbo a little forward had to be done. at this point i figured that now a little bit of extra work is going to be done and i just got bit by the modifying bug i knew i was going to have to wait a bit for parts so i decided to do a few other things as well. I also decided to ceramic coat the exhaust manifold for extra protection. There has been so much talk about the plazmaman plenum not giving any benefits and loosing torque that i was very hesitant about going towards one of those. i did some research and got in touch with a guy named ariel from custom plenum creations. i spoke to him about what was already on my car and really what i wanted. i wanted to do away with the cross over pipes and just have a nice clean looking engine bay but not loose any power or torque on the car currently, nothing to over the top but subtle to the performance enthusiast. we had a chat and it was decided that he would build me custom runners and a custom plenum chamber. i also opted for an aftermarket fuel rail and set of 750cc injectors to help with the flow. currently i have 550cc so i thought they were close to the maximum and if i decided to try and push out more power better flow would be needed. so ariel set to work My brothers friend has just started up doing some powder coating wheels as a hobby, and i was looking at getting chris from craved coatings to do it but he offered to do it for half the cost as he wanted some wheels to practice on, i had planned on getting other wheels to go with the carbon fibre exterior parts down the track so i though what the hell, they will be used as track rims so if it isn't perfect it doesn't really matter. as most of you that own cars i like everything to be perfect. it was funny to find out the wheels had been either sprayed or painted 5 different colours before the now black. I then went and spoke to chris from Craved Coatings, about getting my valley and rocker covers powdercoated. i have seen his work first hand and i don't think there is anyone out there better. i decided on a specked marble kind of look so not to be to over the top but to be to my liking. this will go nicely with the stealth but subtle look i was going for. last week a few parts came back my manifold arrived and the wheels were finished. new manifold next to old manifold the wheels came up great and some pictures of the engine bay as it sits in pieces so now just waiting for chris to finish of the engine covers, and ariel to finish of the plenum and fuel rail, then the car can start to be put back together
  6. thanks for the pms guys all sorted now...
  7. hi after some rb20 rocker/ cam covers so i can get them powder coated, mine has a small dent in it and i am fussy about that sort of thing. thanks pm on post on here jeremy
  8. it was a little further down from the lights right opposite the information centre exit well thats where they ended up, because they blocked the road off and made us detour right past the accident, maybe you meant he was turning into ross street, skyline looked like it was hit from 3 major areas, back, front and passenger side, it possibly may have rolled too as there was a pretty big dent on the roof. didnt see a crashed hilux though, just a holden commodore with basically the whole front smashed halfway in. glad to hear he is alright though.
  9. hi guys i am after a stock rb20 plenum with runners if you have one let me know
  10. i hope the owner of the white gtt or gtv with cr kai bronze wheels is ok, if you are a member on here give us a heads up your car looked in very bad shape, anyone know what happened.
  11. i just got my rims powdercoated black from a silver, changes the agressiveness of the car completely although my car is orange. black will be better
  12. envy is in brookdale nsw so i am assuiming somewhere close to there. i love how just about all envy skylines i have seen have the yellow blue engine covers, was that personal choice lol free bump for an awsome car and it won't last long at the price
  13. i drive down there a fair bit to train, and that area is notorious for hoon drivers to fly through, so kudos to the copper who picked him up. however that being said there are plenty of other non skyline cars that i have seen go through as fast or fly past me on those roads that dont get caught. in the drivers defence a 3 lane highway isn't really a half a lane school zone, but they are the stupid ones for not obeying the law. and if a kid went to cross 6 lanes of highway that would almost be just as stupid
  14. check the for sale section i can remember seeing 2 posts for the rb26
  15. Hi, my manifold has split in half so.... i am after a rb20 highmount external wastegate turbo manifold with a t3 flange, if you have something similar to 6 boost or quickspool new or used let me know regards jeremy
  16. it was stainless steel, it snapped on the pipe connected to the turbo not sure about the flexi joint on the exhaust agreed, and yes i have figured that out also mate, and no not going to weld it back up 6boost seems to be my pic also maybe quickspool? i had a little read on their products also where it has split it doesn't even look like stainless steel just rusty so yes GR in the bin new one coming, should i be getting cermaic coating also? i have launch control and it shoots flames out of the screamer pipe which is straight below, prop why it rusted over in the first place
  17. hi guys, been having a little leak issue with the rb20 top mount manifold, (car is currently getting pulled apart as i post) originally it was thought that just a gasket leak but after inspection the whole manifold has split|cracked. has anyone experienced this? my mechanic seems to think that i may have hit something with the screamer pipe as it sits very low to the ground and that may have twisted or put pressure on it. the item in question is a genuine hks/greddy turbo manifold (i have a genuine tdo6ls2 turbo kit installed to an rb22) so now to the real questions there is a possibility to weld up the crack,(but i don't do things half assed so this most likely won't be the way i go) so it looks like a new manifold. now i have been looking up places to get a new manifold, i don't know alot about them and the prices vary from $400 bucks to $1300 i don't really want to break the bank but if the cheaper ones won't handle the 270kw then i will be prepared to pay the extra i would also like to get ther car fixed asap as i need it for a few trips in a weeks time so i don't want something custom built that i have to wait for/ all alternatively if someone on here has a second hand one they are looking to get rid of are the off the shelf items the same fit, obviouslly i am after one with an extrernal gate and t3 flange any and all help is much appreciated i am located in nsw yt
  18. those wheels are going fro about $600-850 as rims with shit tyres on them for a guide mate, so add the tyres to that and it should give u a ball park figure to start, i see your located in blaxland, if u see a orange r32 give us a wave i only live in glenbrook jeremy
  19. as long as the car is standard then you dont have an issue, i had someone reverse into me and there assessor came out and only claimed damadge was 600 when i got qoute from the guys to fix for 1000 dollars and that was the cheapest one. also i had a genuine jap brand bodykit which was worth twice the cost or repairs but they will only repair to 'standard' replacement or repair value. insurance companies are a joke. at least yours is with the same company, make sure the at fault driver has already lodged the claim and you get the claim number, otherwise no work will get done to getting your car back on the road good luck
  20. Yts

    Not Happy.

+1 i though mine was good but i will taking this one from now on
  21. the td06 donk on the rb20 produces plenty of power on and off boost and very drivable on the streets for interested buyers i have one i drive daily gl with the sale
  22. hi after the glass part of the sunroof on r32 gts-t, all my mechanical stuff is in order i have a few imperfections with the glass though, if u have the whole lot and don't want to get ride of just the glass let me know a price for that also, or if u know somewhere good i can take it to be replaced also would be good. thanks jeremy
  23. it get easier with time, i found also that full pressure on the accelerator doesn't make it easier to get away, i try and tap the accelerator a little while i am taking off and when you feel it go to engage keep the accelerator pressure on. hard to explain other than that. i let all my friends try and drive the car occasionally and they all just about stall it, so its nothing new. although my clutch is now a little more forgiving then what is was when i first got it.
