  1. Yea the door trims are great and I would highly recommend Michael to anybody that needs a set,,,THANKS Dale. bcozican and Dale I love your idea boys,,, as I have a set of Wed wheels that need powdercoating and I think I'll get the trims done in the same bright blue I'm going to have the wheels done in. I bought a spare set off Fatz when he was going to race (homo/chicken) and they had some gravel rash on them so on Sunday we bolted them up to the rear of handles GTR (less tyres) and ran the car whilst I filed and sandpapered almost all of the marks out. They turned out great. Fatz keep me posted on the next date of that tarmac rally shit you are doing and if the dates are good,,,I'll come play with ya. Sweetfu,,,yes they are the Sparco sprint seats,,,steel framed ones,,,they cost like $950.00 a pair back in 2011. Over time the bum section has become slightly uncomfortable,,,. I love steel framed seats but I think next time fibreglass seats will be the go. Cheers Neil.
  2. Cool list Dan,,, - Brake lights working. I'm a firm beleiving in all lights should work,,,foggy days at Wakie need headlights and tail lights. It also helps if you can flash your headlamps at slower drivers that are not looking in their mirrors. - Windscreen - clear visibility and no cracks. Wipers and washers again are great in foggy and/or wet conditions. - Covers on fluid reservoirs, clutch, brakes, power steering. If you mean those wrist band type covers,,,then no to that,,, thats was started by the drift guys and is not necesary. I have been harrassed for non metal valve caps,,,somewhere on one of the leading tyre manufacturers websites they claim older valves will leak air at speed. I have also coped it about no insulation on battery terminals,,,still not understanding why. Cheers Neil.
  3. I beleive it's spelt "Wanker" you big titted bitch. The scrutineers have been hassling me to run door trims for ages so with the help of Dale(FZ1)I got these made from MR Fabrications up in QLD. Very nicey made indeed. I chucked them on quickly so I'll have to do a proper job before the Canberra round. I'm undecided whether to leave them as they are or paint them or maybe cover them in real black vinyl/black alcantara or carbon wrap. Cheers Neil.
  4. Funny you mention that Mr Handley,,,so far this year I have won my class and set a class lap record at Marulan's round of the hillclimb champs,,,be it I was the only car in my class and it was their 1st hillclimb. I'll take it anyway I can. Bathurst was much better than I expected,,,4th up the esses on Saturday and 3rd up mountain straight on Sunday,,,. up against very quick over 1600cc clubmans. Fantastic results for such a big heavy car. Cheers Neil.
  5. Charles the jury is still out,,,at Marulan and Bathurst I was still experiencing rear end instability and I'll make a decision after the Canberra round on a different rear spoiler. Having the boost come on early has actually made the car much smoother and I'm now never using low boost ever. I have almost zero camber in the rear but I am about due for an alignment so I'll post what they are when that happens. Maybe a castor adjustment might help?. Stuffed if I really know,,,suspension geometry is like a black art to me. What I do like though is the front end is absolutely beautiful,,,understeer just doesn't exist. Cheers for your input mate,, it's very much appreciated. Neil.
  6. Whilst slinging shitt at MR MAN boobs is very cool with some of his crazy offs,,,please explain this little mis-adverture of yours mate. If you wanted to play in the mud and grass,,,you could have borrowed his 4 ring circus or my patrol.
  7. Hey Tim,,, not sure if you have the right car,,,this is Cheryl,,,now back to her original number 41 from here on in. Still nobody running slicks,,,damn Cool pic handley,,,pulled that one out of the archives didn't you,,, just wish Ronald didn't have a finger up me bum,,,shitt me he did it dry. Tim don't listen to him,,,there will be no cones so hit your apexes and ripple strips hard. See you guys up there on the weekend. Cheers Neil.
  8. I was going to have a chat to Bill from Gordon Leven up at bathurst next coming weekend but the tyre/rim size I use is not all that common for soft Avons so I'll bet good money he will be trying to sell me whatever he has and I'd also bet they will be old. I could be wrong and talking out of line,,,but from past experience I don't think so. I'm swaying towards Dales idea of Hoosiers or even Goodyears as I have used both on the Radical with great results. I was hoping someone had actually used slicks on a Skyline at hillclimbs for some feedback,,, but looks like I'll be a pioneer. Cheers Boys Neil.
  9. Wondering if anybody has any experience with running slicks at Hillclimbs. I'm currently using 235/40 x 17 Kuhmo V700's and all my competition are on slicks. Almost all of them are 1/2 my weight and are running soft Avon's. I could just buy a set of Avon the same as them but I'm concerned they won't last more than 3-4 events with the weight of the old girl. Any thoughts people. Cheers Neil.
  10. Nice driving big titties.
  11. Don't be deceived by this evil Evo talk Fatz,,,we all know GTR's spin bearings and their owners know it's going to happen sooner or later. The evo boys just dump a load of oil all over the track and quickly trailer it back into the workshop for another rebuild. They just don't want to admit it. Cheers Neil.
  12. I needed another practice day before the end of the year so we did the last speed off the streets day at Wakie (21st December). How busy was this day, 119 cars and all the race cars were dumped into 1 group. I was out with everything from Hyundai excels to state sports sedans all in the same group. I have never overtaken and been overtaken by so many cars in my life and all this in 38 degree temps, it was a mad day. Upshot of all this was 2 new issues I need to address Cheryls rear end has now become loose, out of turn 2 and the fish hook I can carry a drift without even trying. Now while thats fun its not great for lap times. I have changed from Federals to Kuhmo v700s so that shouldnt be a problem. That only leaves 2 other mods being my boost is coming on way sooner now and my new front splitter. So Im going to have to look at rear down force which means a big gay rear spoiler. Question is will my carbon fibre boot lid handle the down force or will I have to go back to the factory boot lid. My other issue is, after all this time I think I have finally outlived my factory brakes. The cars going quicker and quicker and Im struggling to pull her up. As an example I could easily brake way past the 100 metre sign after the back straight at Wakie, now Im braking at the sign and the car is very nervous. While they have been great, its now time to move on. Im being out-braked by cars that I should be all over under brakes. Ive been expecting this to happen and have spend ages looking at upgrades but Im not really prepared to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on new big shiny name brand kits. So as luck would have it Duncan and I were cleaning out the container and I came across some hats and dog bones. I was hoping to test fit his old discs to the hats and maybe just have to buy calipers. Bugger me when we get back to his place he has his old G4 kit doing nothing. Test fitted them this weekend and they fit perfectly. I only have to machine the stub axle mounting holes from 12mm to 14mm. So it will be interesting to see what 330mm discs and 8 piston calipers are like. Might have to book a John Boston day on the 10/01/2015. Cheers Neil.
  13. 28 pages is a lot to read mate,,,glad you hung in there and read it all. As time goes on Cheryl gets quicker and quicker and while that is the case I'm very reluctant these days to push her beyond my driving capabllities,,,I have crashed my bitch at a national round which was a little embarrassing. I'm running a Just Jap oil cooler and oil filter relocation kit.,,,works a treat. Sorry but I can't help with wheel alignment peeps,,, I use a liitle workshop that wants to stay little. Cheers Neil.
  14. Can I ask what brand of cleaner did you use. I have tested probably every brand of carby/brake cleaner over the years and bmw brake cleaner was the only product that left no residue. Recently I ran out and tried the bendix brake cleaner and it was better than most. The problem with all the other brands is they must have water or some other substance that does not evaporate. Circuit board cleaner is also a great product to use but you have to buy a quality brand and it's expensive. Your cardinal sin was,,,as has been pointed out is never spray anything into an engine while it's not running. Actually never spray anything into an older engine.Clean your bits off the car mate. 20 years of carbon and slight sludge build up is a good thing for hydraulic lifters and the like. Hope it all comes good. Neil.
  15. He hasn't got the balls mate.
  16. Here's a little story that still makes me laugh. One beautiful summers afternoon we were all happily working away out at Marks property on both the GTR's. Kel had volunteered to help and was happily sitting on a stool I think cleaning parts or something. Duncan was working inside the car drilling god only knows what into the floor. Kel says "hey boys I can smell fuel" ,,,the poor girl looks down and she is surrounded by a massive pool of fuel. Someone with a drill has drilled a hole straight through the supply line. It's very hard to stop fuel from draining the tank but we did manage to stop it in the end. Everybody survived and to this day if you stick your head under the car,,,just in front of the right rear wheel you can see the hose and clamp patch. Now he's not the only one to do something like that,,,another gent I know decided to drill a hole after removing his back seat to mount a fire extinguisher with almost the same result. I'll teach you to post pics of me looking like an idiot in your engine bay tiger and if you drag out me sitting on a particular fast foods prop I'll type more. Cheers Neil.
  17. So that brings us up to date does it Mr Handley,,,I think not.
  18. No I asked what are jdm lugnuts. Nismo is not jdm. Cheers Neil.
  19. Please excuse my ignorance,,, but what are jdm lug nuts???. Cheers Neil
  20. It was these ones mate,,, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ARK-Lug-Wheel-Nuts-4pc-M12-x-1-25-Subaru-Nissan-Suzuki-/380314944426?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588c8983aa#ht_1338wt_999 Same shop but the heads are 17mm not 19mm,,,My wed wheels won't really take 19mm heads. Cheers Neil
  21. Whilst I like the car,,, the boss woman hates the purple,,,so short of a respray which isn't going to happen that car is out. I did say it would look great with bright coloured stickers,,,the answer was still a flat no. I didn't get a lot of quality track time and I really needed to do some practice laps so I don't really know if the spitter worked or not. I only really got 4 laps in succession on my own and the rear end was a little more tail happy than usual. I had the Kumho V700's on her which I hadn't done any laps on before ,,,so I don't know whether I need more rear downforce or the tyres were too high in pressure. I might try a do another track day before the end of the year (Wakie Sunday 21st December) and try and get my head around whats what. I do know the my rear diffuser mounts are a massive pain in the arse to bolt up but I will fix that beforehand. Cheers Neil.
  22. Hi Mark,,,glad to have you aboard. Just as a heads up,,,you have been spoilt with BMW's parts ETK cataloging and chassis lookup. Nissan's fast system or parts cataloging is absolutely rubbish and looks like a child thought it up and drew the pictures. There is no real chassis lookup so to speak only whats on the fast system. That said,,,Nissan's would have to be the real quiet achiever and getting a good example will put a smile on your face. You could also stay in the BMW family and buy the all new Mini,,, very cool car. Cheers Neil.
  23. I bought these off ebay australia they are great. Just did a quick search as I couldn't remember who I bought them off but there are tons of options. Cheers Neil.
  24. I'm interested in the rb25 carbon coil pack cover, r33 gtst s2 front bar primed ready to spray and rear adjustable camber arms. Cheers Neil.
  25. Mate you will love those hose removing pliers,,,they are very handy. Have you tried those caliper pliers yet,,,I was always going to make a set but if they fit inside a 4 piston sumitomo/brembo caliper I'll also buy one. Cheers Neil.
