Parting Out Rb25 Engines

What condition is the S2 block down like?. Also where are you located. Cheers Neil. -
Thanks boy's,,,2 great ideas,,,think I'll go with the seat belt bolt idea 1st as I have everything here. You know i've been in the car industry almost all my life and I didn't know the belt bolts were all imperial,,,I knew the kids restraint bolts were but not the belts. You learn something every day. Cheers and thanks again Neil.

I'm hoping one of you Fab guy's might be able to point me in the right direction. 2 of my seat mounting threads are near stuffed and I'm having problems working out how to fix them. I have run a tap through both ,,, but the threads are now getting loose and its almost impossible to get a nut in the mounts with the seat in the way. They are 10mm x 1.25mm. I was thinking about welding the holes up,,,redrilling them and then re-tapping them but that sounds like a last resort. Thread inserts are not really a good idea because of the large outer diameter you have to make the hole and they are from what I can find a much courser thread. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Neil.

Hey James I've been meaning to ask you for ages,,,where did you get your solid engine and gearbox mounts?. I need all 3. Cheers Neil.

What we all really need is a fully covered undercar,,,nice and flat leading into a big rear diffuser. That really can't be done,,,the exhaust being our major stumbling block. I just stuck my head under my GTS-T and the front splitter has to stop just before the dump pipe. You could make cutaways around it but what a pain in the arse that would be. It's also very impractical,,,you would lose all your jacking points and servicing/repairs/cleaning kitty litter out after an off at race meeting would be a bloody pain. So lets forget about the front for a sec and see what else we can do,,,my thinking is one of our major problems is air getting stuffed around by everything under there and then it comes to a screaming halt at the rear bar. Now maybe we should look at making something that lets the air travel out the back more smoothly,,,yes a diffuser would be great but in the interim just smoothing out the air flow back there might help. Cheers from the aero genius,,,NOT Neil.

Cheers Dale,,,I think that's stuff was what I was running. It's a bit ironic really that a 45 dollar oil out performs a mega dollar one. Cheers Neil.

No need Zeb,,, I can tell you whats going on under the Radical and all other Sports/Prototypes. The Radical has a flat floor which extends all the way back to the rear of the cabin and then it has a massive diffuser much like a DTM car. The other type is a tunnel system which is basically a diffuser that starts at around the front axles and goes all the way back to the rear of the car. Not practical for sedans as the tunnels go either side of the driver so it's only good for centre seated sports cars. I've been looking at making a splitter out of this stuff http://www.alusign.com.au/ has anybody ever used it?

More info mate who is/what is "HT"???. I need help. 2 Build sections Motorsport and Projects, Overhauls and Build-ups. Cheers Neil.

Cheers Amir,,,glad you like my build. She does do great skids as Matty said. Which brings me to another little issue I have. Before Cheryl went to the Bulladelah hillclimb we changed her gearbox oil,,,only because it was getting old and had seen lots of abuse. So we changed from my usual normal Castrol mineral oil to Royal Purple Max Gear synthetic 75w-90. Now my box never ever crunched or had problems finding reverse,,,she now does. It could well be that my box is getting old,,, but won't it be funny if my problem disappears when I change back to a cheap oil. I'll keep you all posted. Cheers Neil.

So now that I have my flashy 244 killowasps,,,this has bought me a new set of issues,,, 1/ My standard injectors are at a 100% so I need an upgrade,,,so I bought these 2nd hand ones off another SAU guy 555 Nismo's and tomorrow they are off to Unigroup for testing. Issue 2 is my turbo,,,now I'm not going to move away from my high-flowed one but it's not right as boost is coming on at 6000 rpm and obviously that is not right. I and now Duncan have been driving around it but I now have the shits with it and it's time for fixing,,,again Unigroup will have the job of fixing it. I'm not really after anymore power,,,just better drive-ability,,,but 300 will be on the cards for sure. Cheers Neil.

Okay my bad,,,I should have clarified my dis-like for RDA. I actually don't like the way they run their business and until it changes I will never buy their product. Love Neil.

Shit I better start putting Cheryl back together. She's in a million bits on the garage floor. -
Yea but your only running a 2 hole adjustable sway bar,,,I'm of the belief we are talking about the 4 hole puppies which for the links is a different situation all together. Your link is way badly bent and in my opinion would never fit our back 2 holes. Here's 2 pics of mine and the same sided links will not adjust to the 2 rear holes. We might have to make rose jointed links to make it all fit properly,,,but I will on the weekend work some of it out and post my conclusions. Cheers Neil.
-
I use the standard factory sway bar links and have had the same problem trying to get them to fit the rear holes on the sway bars. Now I know the front ones are side specific and looking at them I think if you use right for left and visa-versa you can access the other holes. Not sure on the rears but give me a couple of days and I'll confirm it. Cheers Neil.

Adam, I've been using it since 2011 and quite a few other guys have been using them for longer than me. I just went out and checked mine and there is no play whatsoever. Yep JJR indeed http://justjap.com/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=steering+wheel This is the one I'm using. I borrowed this one,,,but for the life of me I couldn't get it to release easily so I went back to my original. Maybe it was just me as I wouldn't think Just Jap would sell one for 20 bucks more that's harder to release. Cheers Neil.
